“Fantastic dog sitter! Knowledgeable and very responsive. Handles my VERY excitable dogs easily. Asked questions I hadn't even thought of, which goes to show her professionalism. Will definitely rebook her in the future.”

“We have booked Katrina on multiple occasions for drop in visits for our two kitty cats. She is great at providing many pictures and updates during her visit. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Katrina to take care of your animals!”

About: Hey! Over the past 5 years, I've accumulated over 2000 hours of animal care and veterinary experience. This is a combination of volunteering at a local animal shelter, interning with Cornell’s vet school, working at a vet clinic, and working at a doggy daycare. Because of this, I'm incredibly comfortable with animals of all shapes and sizes, and I have experience administering various medications to animals as needed. Additionally, I am super knowledgeable on caring for XL dog breeds, seeing as I have a Great Dane who weighs more than I do, and in the past Ive lived with Mastiffs, Bloodhounds, Pitbulls, and more. I am a full-time student at KSU, but my general weekly availability is that I have class from 10-3:30pm mon/wed/fri, and 2-4pm tue/thurs and I am free all day on the weekends. However, I am confident that I can still make room to love your pet around my schedule, and my availability calendar is updated daily so you can see if I can help when you need it! I am very experienced in reading animals' body language, so I can tell what they need from me to be the most comfortable and keep me and them safe. Additionally, I have experience walking and caring for dogs from 3 pounds to 150 pounds, and I know how to adapt to their needs.
“We were so thankful for Alyssa being able & willing to take care of our fur-babies on short notice. She took plenty of time beforehand to see what we needed and to visit with our pets and us. She gained the trust of our fearful dog quickly, which we were happy to see! Everything was done as requested, we enjoyed the photos, and the house and pets looked great when we got home! We also appreciated her joyful personality and her open communication! We would call on Alyssa again!”

I’d love to arrange a meet and greet with you and your pups to discuss your needs more in-depth! I work an 8:00 am - 5:00 pm Monday thru Friday job. However, I have a 1 hour lunch break that would allow me to stop by and check on/walk your dogs. If I have a free weekend, I could housesit for you; the sooner I know in advance, the better! I’m a very active person, so I love walking and even jogging with your dogs; whatever you need! I like to talk softly to dogs to develop a level of friendship and trust. I’m happy to accompany and play with dogs in a fenced in backyard or dog park. Sitting on a couch (if allowed) is nice too! I’d follow your regular feeding, potty and meds schedules to maintain consistency as well.

About: Hi! I love animals and can’t wait to take care of your pet. Whether they are a dog, cat, reptile, bird, etc! I worked as a veterinary assistant at an emergency veterinary hospital over the summer, as well as having previously worked at a dog daycare for multiple years. I’ve also cared for friends’ dogs and cats over the years, providing reliable, loving attention when they needed it most. In addition, I have been volunteering at Wayside Waifs for 2 years, where I help with animal socialization, enrichment, and daily care. I’ve also been horseback riding for 8 years, which has deepened my understanding of animal behavior, communication, and patience, especially with larger or more sensitive animals. Whether your pet needs calm companionship or active play, I’m here to provide professional, compassionate care tailored to their unique needs! If I am caring for your pet, I’m willing to accommodate around my work schedule. Even if that means waking up at 6am to take care of your pet before I head to work or classes, I’ll do it all! I’m a full time student, but that doesn’t stop me from giving your pet the attention it deserves. I am very particular in making sure every need is met for your pet! All messes will be cleaned up as soon as possible, and I will go above and beyond to give your pet the enrichment they need.

About: I’m Mark. I live in Manhattan with my wife, dog, and 16 year-old cat. I’ve had Dalmatians (high energy, stubborn) since I was a kid. I have experience with companion dogs, working dogs, elderly dogs, and have even helped my wife train our current pup (Pepper) as a registered therapy dog. I’ll make sure to take good care of your four-legged friends whether it’s on walks, drop-ins, or house sitting if needed! I recently left the Army and am figuring out what I want to do next. This means I’m free in the mornings and afternoons (9-3) weekdays and weekends for walks and drop-ins. I can accommodate house sitting on weekends with some advance notice. I take my own dog on hour-long walks most days, and she gets plenty of extra exercise playing in my fenced backyard and helping me dig holes in my garden. I understand all pets may not be up for that much activity and can adjust based on your needs!

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first Meet & Greet .
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy , which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.
Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means you will get a full refund and our support team will work with you to find a replacement sitter.
