“If we could give Tid 10 stars we would. Professional, timely, loving, caring, great communication, all of our animals love her and respect her and respond to her. When this family emergency/tragedy occurred there was only one person we were calling and without hesitation Tid was there for us. The great thing was how all 3 animals responded to seeing her again as she was their daily sitter for along time before I retired. Simply the best. We love you Tid and thank you again”

“Brenda took very good car me if our cats. She spent time with both of them. She gave our elderly cat his Insulin with no issues. We appreciate the care she provided for our fur babies.”

“Samantha did a wonderful job with our animals. She was very punctual and was super sweet to our dog and a cat. She was sending pictures of her every visit. She communicated very well before and during the process. Very happy with her job”

About: Hi I’m Liz and I absolutely love animals! When I was younger I was always wanting to help out any animal I could find. I grew up with cats and a dog but once I got married my husband was allergic to cats so I never got to own my own cat. But I foster dogs on the side! I don’t work with any agencies, I just help certain life or death situations or senior pups who were denied proper care. I currently own 7 dogs ranging from all ages puppy to senior. I also own what most people call “difficult” breeds Akitas, Shibas, huskies, German Shepherds, Pomeranians, and Samoyed! I have a few puppies in training at my house and would love to share my knowledge of dogs with others! If you have training questions I’d love to help you and get you on the right track! I can’t wait to meet your pup! I’m currently working full time but I get off at 3-4pm each day and I am off Saturday and Sunday. I have a lot of wiggle room and would love to accommodate any way I can! I want to care for your pet in the same manner you do! I want your pet to feel like I am a second care human they are close and comfortable with. I will follow your instructions to a “T” so they aren’t left missing you too much! Right now I will only be offering your home for services but maybe some day mine as well :)
“Anna Kate was a great sitter.Miss Kitty is very shy but Anna Kate made her feel safe and she loved seeing Anna Kate every morning. She did everything we needed and we were very pleased . Highly recommend her and we will have her sit again for us.”
“This is the second time Alexis has helped us out with our dog Shiloh, and Shiloh just seems so happy and at ease with her! Alexis is also flexible with scheduling and great at communicating. Cannot recommend enough!!”

“Alletta is an amazing pet sitter and really enjoys the pets (in our case, dogs). Our dogs completely bonded with her and were obviously happy to see her. Alletta also noticed a leak in our hose nozzle and turned the water off, so it would not continue to leak.”
“Amber did an excellent job taking care of my dog and 2 cats. My dog is diabetic and requires insulin injections twice a day plus several other medications as well as a special diet. My two cats are finicky eaters and will only eat what they want. Amber handled the medications and special diets like a pro and kept me up to date in great detail while I was away. She took care of my babies like they were her own and that made me feel very stress-free being away from them. I would highly recommend Amber and will definitely use her in the future.”

About: I own 3 dogs, a Dane, a Doodle, and a Retriever; who I love dearly! I have also volunteered and fostered many dogs through Lifeline. I am comfortable with any dog from puppies to giant lap dogs or pitbulls to labs (maybe skip chihuahuas). I’m currently a stay at home working mom. I teach online and can make my own schedule. I am home everyday and when I’m not working I’m caring for my son. I wanted to add an additional side hustle that I could bring him with me. We already go on walks together so why not bring someone else’s dog with us and make a couple extra bucks? Any money I make from this is just going into his college fund :) I’m happy to come over and let your dogs out during the afternoons when you’re at work. When I worked full time in person I had someone come over mid day, each day, to let my dogs out in the backyard and play with them for 30 minutes. If you’re looking for your pup to be taken on a short walk, I can do that too!

About: No matter the size, bread, history, health, etc they all need and deserve the right kind of love and attention. I would love to the opportunity to love your fur babies too! I have two dogs 1 older lab 10 and mixed brindle pitbull that is 5. They are my heart and joy, incredibly blessed to have them and the opportunity to love them! Unfortunately, I cannot take any fur babies in my own home, but I would love to respect yours and love them at the same time. Current full-time healthcare worker & dog lover. Would love the opportunity to love you’re babies. Available Friday afternoon to Sunday afternoon, possible weekday evening check-in as well. I have a fenced in yard with two dogs. I enjoy spending time with them and providing them with all the love and care they need.
“Once again, Kaley has shown herself to be an exceptional pet sitter!" This was her second time caring for my two cats and dog, and she surpassed all expectations. Her genuine love and dedication to animals shine through in every interaction. Kaley's attention to detail ensured that my pets received personalized care tailored to their individual needs. She went above and beyond to maintain their routine and keep them happy and comfortable while I was away. Communication was excellent, with regular updates and photos that reassured me of their well-being. I couldn't be happier with Kaley's service and highly recommend her to anyone in need of a trustworthy and caring pet sitter."”

Whether you’re at the office for the day or traveling for a few nights, a pet sitter can offer potty breaks during a Oakwood stroll, cleaning the litter box, or making sure your pet has on-time food or water refills. Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Oakwood. On Rover:
- 94% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 97% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 97% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
