“Mary and her daughter did a wonderful job with my Theo! He was so happy when I picked him up. He’s already scheduled to stay with her again this week and I know he’ll be so excited to see them again!”

“Kalikonani took care of my 12 year old Shih Tzu on a weekly basis for several months while I was at work. He went for short walks, took naps, and sunbathed. He seemed to have a good time. Kalikonani was great with communication and sent daily pictures and cute updates on Brody’s day. Her service was much appreciated.”

“Denise is a loving caring pet sitter. She watched my dog for a while day while we visited the Aquarium. Very easy to reach, sent great pupdates. My sweet boy was ready to snuggle in for the evening after his visit with her. Would definitely recommend!”

“Johemy was great! My little Brigid was so well cared for. I love leaving her with someone who is loving and caring. I appreciate how nurturing she was to her. I would definitely recommend!”

“First time using Rover and happy with how everything turned out. Was in town with the fam and planned on visiting the aquarium. Reached out to Jesse 2 days prior to our visit and he responded right away. He walked and fed Audie and sent pictures and texted updates. We were running late for pickup and Jesse was kind enough to give us extra time so we didn’t have to rush back. Thanks Jesse!”

Animals are my true passion & they all are my babies to me! I love them all so I choose to be a professional pet sitter. I have extensive experience with animals. For their separation anxiety I prefer to watch them in their own environment. Since I was a teenager, I was helping street dogs & cats to found homes. I took classes, and I learned how to take care animals. I learned about proper diet, housing, and medical care for variety of animals. I do have lot of experience with other animals as well as dogs & cats. I am super familiar with bunnies, turtles, chickens, cows, goats, sheeps, ducks, birds especially since I am a kid, I spent my holidays at my father’s farms. Your pets will stay happily entertained to have the best Pawsome VIP Vacation! We will have so much fun together with your dearies! I want to make sure you will be so happy and at peace leaving your pup with me; with their new best friend! I welcome meet & greets at parks, but they are not required. I can fully supervise “kids” and make sure they all good and happy ;) Kindly give a bath to your most lovely puppies before giving them to me pretty please. Otherwise I need to give bath & grooming for my dearie guest paws. I will charge it. I have a fenced front yard, backyard at PawsInn, so l am supervising dearly puppies all the time, even when they are having fun at my garden. We shall do long walks, plays at the safest neighborhood parks, and fenced football fields constantly. My favorite park is next to my home, and it is our favorite because I can safely let few puppies run there leash free since this park all fenced up.
“We have used rover many times in the past and Cori definitely comes top on our list. Our husky enjoyed so much at her place! He had enough space to run around in a fully fenced backyard and made friends with other dogs there! We had plans in Monterey and booked last minute. Cori always replies immediately and she sends us photos and photos of our dog all the time. We will definitely drop him at Cori’s place in the future.”

“Such an amazing and loving dog sitter, Kristin was able to make my occasionally anxious dog feel at home and my dog was happy to make new friends with her dogs and got comfortable almost immediately”

“Dilan was very kind and attentive to our blind rescue poodle Sugar and Melody was a perfect canine host. In turn Sugar was extremely happy and calm even though she always had severe separation anxiety due to her condition. Dilan is very communicative and understanding so you can trust your pet will be well taken care of.”

“Julia took fantastic care of our dog, Milo, while my husband and I went hiking in Big Sur. She went above and beyond to make sure that Milo had a fun day of adventure around town. It was clear that Julia was experienced and really loved dogs!”

“I would definitely recommend Elizabeth for doggie day care! She was so kind and easy to coordinate with. I loved the photos she sent throughout the day with updates while my husband and I spent the day in Monterey and at the aquarium. Will definitely book her again if we visit another time!!”

“While visiting Carmel, we needed someone to care for our miniature Australian Shepherd for a day. With no experience leaving Blu with anyone locally, we chose David through Rover. We met David for an introductory visit and he gave us a tour of his excellent facilities, introduced Blu to his own dog and cat, and immediately put us all at ease. When our plans changed at the last minute, he was flexible and accommodating. At drop-off, Blu quickly settled into his surroundings, and the photos David shared showed he was comfortable and had made himself right at home. When we picked him up, he was happy—and pleasantly tired. We highly recommend David.”

“Nina is wonderful - the peace of mind we have leaving Cosmo with her is priceless. Cosmo is comfortable in her home, Nina is very attentive, and her yard is terrific. Highly recommended!”

I have a large fully enclosed backyard and garage as well as indoor spaces with safe separation when required. I will accommodate if I can!

“Sam and Yuchen provided daycare for us while we did a quick half day to the aquarium. Elphie is new to rover day care and they did amazing and accommodating. They are also super quick to reply whenever I sent a message which is a whole 5 stars in its own. Will definitely contact them again for dog sitting when we are in the area”

“Kelly did an amazing job taking care of my dog Clyde. She was super responsive, friendly, and kind. She sent me several pictures of Clyde throughout the day and that made me very happy. I could tell she took great care of him. Anytime I’m in the Carmel/Monterey Bay area with Clyde I will look to book with Kelly again.”

“Athena watched our large breed dog for two nights in a row and we were extremely happy with how she took care of him and handled the entire process! She responds extremely quickly to all messages and was very friendly and happy to have Bruiser in her house, which was beautiful and very clean. We could tell she had prepared to watch Bruiser and listened to all of our notes and instructions for him. Bruiser can sometimes be antsy when in a new place or with strangers, but he seemed more at home with Athena than at our hotel! We are more than happy with Bruiser’s stay with Athena and will absolutely use her again next time we bring Bruiser to Carmel!”

Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.

Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in CA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
