About: I had a dog my entire life and loved looking after it and taking it for walks, after he passed I took care of a few neighbors dogs and would love to do this on a more regular basis I work part time during some mornings but my schedule is very flexible. My weekly schedule varies week to week so I would love to help out whenever. I don’t have any pets at home but have a spacious yard and safe neighborhood to walk your pet in with lots of other pets in the neighborhood

“Seeing Ava grow up I have always known she loved animals. Her favorite animal being Dogs! She has always taken such good care of my two labs (Buca & Bagheera) when she visits. She loves to take them for walks and swims. She also takes into consideration how the dog feels. One of my labs being older she knows he can only go a short distance. She comes right back to walk my younger one. I have been Ava’s employer for past few years in the summer and I know she is a good listener. She does what you ask and does a great job. After work she usually checks in with me to see if my pups need some time outside. I highly recommend her with pets. She is currently training to be a pet groomer and I know she will do well in this career!”

I am sometimes skiddish when people watch my dog, but May sent pictures of her checking up on Axel and updates, which made me more comfortable! From what I can recall, her pricing is also very fair for making sure my pup was well loved while I was away.”

About: Pets > People UPDATED 1/14/25 Thank you for considering me for your pet care needs. Although I just recently started with Rover in March 2024, I have had pets my whole life... they are my favorite kind of people! I realize that in order for you to feel comfortable trusting me with your babies, you need to know a bit about me. I am 37 years old and I have 2 children. My daughter is 11 and my son is 8. Although I am the main one that cares for our Rover guests, it has become a family affair. My husband and children love animals just as much as I do. I was an elementary school teacher before I had my son. Since then, I have been a stay-at-home mom/homemaker. My husband, Shayn, works from home as a proposal manager (he's been in the field for over 12 years and I still have no clue what he does lol). His schedule is pretty hectic and unpredictable with deadlines, so we've found that it works best for our family for me to be home to deal with sick kids, appts, etc. It turns out that this flexibility has been ideal for caring for our furry guests. I have heard from numerous clients that they have tried various kennels/daycares around and have been very upset with their experiences. I've heard that their dog was in the cage all but 1 hour (sometimes even less) of the day. I've been told about dogs coming home filthy, behaving oddly, and severely sick. And, of course, some dogs have been turned away because they have too much anxiety to be cared for in a large facility or have medical conditions that can't be accommodated in a commercial setting. When your pets are here with us, they are treated just like our own dogs. They get treats and cuddles. They get kisses and I narrate their thoughts for them like any sane pet owner would do. There is no sugar-coating the fact that your pet is going to be scared being in a new place without you, but being somewhere with constant attention and love is the best choice until you return. I can't promise that they won't be sad leaving my house when you pick them up. The dogs do tell me that I'm pretty awesome :) I am a homemaker so I have the flexibility to make sure that I am home when needed. I can alter my errands and chores to accommodate my furry guests. However, I do appreciate when bookings are made in advance as much as possible. Additionally, my husband works from home, so he is typically able to help watch the dogs if I need to leave for a brief time. I have recently increased my prices for drop-in visits. I am happy to help in these special cases, but due to the extra logistics it takes to complete those bookings, I needed to make some adjustments. Obviously, there is the time and gas involved, but more than that, it requires some extra planning to have my husband available to watch our boarding and daycare guests because I try my hardest not to leave them unsupervised. Most of the dogs that come to us are rescues or have some sort of trauma or anxiety. This means I don't use crates except for the few that actually feel comforted by being in one. We are a family of introverted homebodies, so adding friends to our pack doesn't change our day-to-day life much. If possible, I prefer overnight guests to be dropped off no later than 5pm. This allows for enough time for them to adjust and get acquainted before bedtime. The more anxious the dog, the earlier they should arrive before bedtime so we can establish a bond. There is a discount for extended stays (10 days or more). Please remind me about this if Rover doesn't automatically add the discount. I have a large, fenced yard that my two big dogs love. Even so, I will monitor your pets outside to ensure their safety. My dogs are not crate-trained, but I do have a small, medium, and large cage available should your pet need them. I will NOT use a crate unless your pet is used to them. I like to do meet and greets with new clients to make sure that everyone feels comfortable before finalizing the booking. I do not allow my guests to join the meet and greets; only my dogs will be present and even then, I do the introduction slowly. Having additional dogs is unnecessarily overwhelming. I will have to reschedule a meet and greet if the weather is not cooperating. While you are more than welcome to come inside during our meeting, we need to mostly stay outside so the dogs don't feel trapped while being overly excited. I try to keep my meet and greets to 30 minutes or less, so I am not away from my current guests for too long. If your pet doesn't like dogs, cats, or children, we will not be the right fit for you. For these instances, doing in-home visits would be the best alternative. Additional fees will be added for drop-in visits if you are out of my typical radius (within 5 miles of my home) or if I need to make additional trips for picking up/dropping off keys. Most people have a door code, lockbox, or will leave their key in a hiding place, but for those in apartments, I realize these may not be options for you. We tend to attract owners of large dogs since my dogs are also large and we have a fenced in yard. I have no problem accepting small dogs, but keep in mind that they need to be able to handle being around large dogs without being overly anxious. We've had several small guests, and they all did fine, but they thought they were big dogs themselves, so they weren't scared to join in on the fun.

About: Hello! My name is Lydia and I am a current college student attending school at Ohio State University! Ask anyone who knows me and they will tell you I have always had the biggest heart for animals, caring for many types of pets growing up from horses to birds to cats and dogs! I have quite a few years experience dog and cat sitting, even with special jobs such a care for a newborn litter of puppies and their mother! (Pictures included) I am well versed in many various forms of animal care, and am willing to help with any of your pet sitting or walking needs! I have a pretty light schedule this semester and will try to always be as flexible as possible to your pet sitting needs! I am currently available all day Monday, Wednesdays and Fridays after 2pm, and all day Saturdays and Sundays! I don’t provide in home services at this time unfortunately because my childhood pet cat is getting much older and I don’t want to overly stress him out in his old age, but I’m more than happy to walk or pet sit for your fur babies whenever it’s needed!
