“Lauren was fantastic with Willow! She was very accommodating for our short notice trip and sent us photos while we were gone. She was quick to respond to messages, and I hope to be able to book with her again in the future!”

“Samantha was such a great dog sitter, Abby was sad when she drove off. She sent the cutest pictures, amd kept us up to date. We would be lucky to have her watch our doggos again!”
“I have never left my dog with anybody I didn’t know. This was a new experience for me and it was wonderful.. Julie Anne sent pictures and communicated with me throughout the couple days. She had snow. I loved it.”

“Rhonda was absolutely fantastic. She took great care of our dog and keep us posted and informed about our pup with plenty of photos and updates. We will definitely trust her again with our dog.”

“Weslyn did an awesome job watching Jojo. She updated me every day, offered to replace his food if he were to run out, and was extremely flexible with constant scheduling issues that happened on my end. Not only was she flexible, but was gracious and patient regarding the changes as well. Upon return, though I planned on picking Jojo up from Weslyn's residence, she drove to me instead because my car had been buried in the snow. Jojo was happy and taken care of, and Weslyn's professional attitude made being away from my pup easier.”

“They are super a super sweet couple who were kind enough to step up on short notice after the sitter I initially hired had a family emergency. My dog enjoyed her time at their house and all the extra outside time and walks. They administered her medicine with zero issues. We got lots of great updates and photos while we were gone, too! I would definitely book with them again.”

“Londyn is a wonderful sitter! She and her dog Onyx welcomed my pup into their home and gave him the time he needed to adjust and relax before I departed. She gave a few updates through the duration of his stay and included a couple of pictures each time. Londyn helped us to feel at ease while she watched our pup and I would highly recommend her to anyone. Should we need a sitter again she will definitely be our first choice!”

“We are so thankful for the amazing care our dog Mookie received! She accepted our last-minute boarding request and was incredibly communicative, kind, and accommodating from start to finish. She worked around our schedule and even cared for Mookie despite having other plans herself — truly a lifesaver for our family. She kept us updated with pictures, and Mookie looked so content and happy the entire time. When we brought him back, he was genuinely excited to see her again, which says everything about how well he was treated. We would absolutely trust her with Mookie again and highly recommend her to anyone needing pet care!”

“She was great! Kept us in the loop, sent pictures and updates! Very flexible with drop off and pick up to work around our schedules! It was a wonderful experience and will definitely use her in the future!!!”

“So grateful to have found Kristen! Things worked out perfectly, great communication before and during my trip, she kept me updated on things, shared pics and videos of my dog during her stay with Kristen. I knew Rosey was in good hands and didn’t spend any time worrying about any of it! Definitely will be reaching out again next time I need a dog sitter!”

This was our dog's first time being taken care of outside of our home. We were very nervous to leave him for such a long period of time, but Lauren eased our worries! Lauren was patient with Loki's first few days getting comfortable in a new place. Loki has a few medications he needs to take, and Lauren made sure to track every single pill he took. She sent us so many updates and photos of Loki having a blast with her dogs. He was having so much fun, we were worried he wouldn't want to come home with us! We would definitely book with Lauren again!

Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their North Pole home-away-from-home, we recommend packing:
- Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in AK ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
