“Karen kept McDuff overnight. He had so much fun with Karen that when it was time to leave he was not sure he wanted to leave and he was sacked out on the couch for hours. Thank you Karen for taking good care of McDuff!”

“Barbara did an amazing job taking care of our boy. She made sure he gets adjusted well. This was our first time with her. We now know where to keep him when we are away. There were regular pics being shared from her. We were at ease that he is in good hands. I definitely recommend her. Amenities at her place are amazing with a big yard for the pups to play and run around.”

“Tabby took wonderful care of my dog while I was out of state. She was flexible and accommodating with pickup and drop-off, making everything easy and convenient. My dog was comfortable, happy, and clearly well cared for during the stay. I appreciated the peace of mind knowing my pet was in good hands and would gladly book with Tabby again.”

“Sharon took great care of Sophie. She sent tons of pictures to keep us updated throughout the week and we were really appreciative! We highly recommend her for anyone who needs a sitter!”

“Justin and Stephanie are absolutely amazing! We rebook with them every time we need to go out of town because we know our pup will be in great hands! They keep us updated with pics throughout the visit and we’re so flexible when our flight got delayed and we had to pickup our boy late at night! They’re truly the best, cannot recommend them enough!”

“Theo came home happy and healthy! Megan and Jacob sent daily updates with pics. Theo was happy, relaxed, and clearly well cared for the entire stay. I really appreciated the updates and the peace of mind knowing my pup was in such good hands. It truly felt like a home away from home. I will absolutely be bringing my dog back and highly recommend them to anyone looking for a safe, loving place for their pet!””

“I would recommend Alexandra to anyone needing a dog sitter. She responds quickly and took really good care of my dog. She has a flexible schedule and her whole family is very nice! Great experience for my first time using rover.”

“We absolutely love Geosselyn! She took care of our cat over our Hawaii vacaction for about a week, gave him all his meds without trouble, and gave him his own little room and are and tower to play on. She also had cameras on him which was nice, and took pictures that she sent to us to relive our stress! Couldn’t be any happier honestly”

“⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I don’t know how to explain this except: Jess is basically Dodger’s second family now. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ If you’re looking for the type of sitter who treats your dog like FAMILY…like actual family…Jess is the one. I honestly don’t think Dodger realized he was being “boarded.” He thought he was on vacation with his new cousins, new uncles, and his new favorite person on earth (Dan 😆). From the minute we dropped him off, Jess was so reassuring and kind. She sent constant updates, pictures, and little stories that made my heart feel so much better. And not just “here’s your dog existing” pictures…NO. We’re talking: *Dodger cuddling her husband like they’ve been best buds for 10 years *Dodger snuggled up with her youngest like they were watching Saturday morning cartoons *Dodger and Tanner acting like long-lost brothers reunited *Dodger eating, relaxing, wagging his tail like a helicopter blade *Dodger getting a whole spa bath after rolling in the yard mud 😭💀 He even chewed through a Kong, which honestly deserves its own award. I warned her he was a super chewer, but I don’t think ANYONE was ready for him to destroy the “indestructible” toy. She just laughed and sent pictures like, “Welp, he’s having the time of his life.” 😂 The whole time she made sure I felt comfortable…even when my baby stole my phone and I panicked thinking I missed messages 😅 She was patient, flexible, and genuinely cared about him AND about us. Dodger came home happy, clean, tired, and FULL of love. His tail literally didn’t stop wagging the entire stay. And I’m pretty sure he thinks Jess’s house is his second home now…which I’m honestly fine with, because I know he’s safe and adored there. Jess and her whole family are wonderful, warm people. They treated Dodger like he belonged with them, and that’s all a dog mom could ever want. We will definitely be booking again (unless Dan steals him permanently 😂). Thank you, Jess, for loving our boy so well. He misses you all already! ❤️🐾 P.s thank you for being so accommodating and helpful with his bath, I loved getting to pick him up early and snuggle him with us the moment he came home🥹💕”

“Jen is the best pet sitter!!! She loves our Ziggy and he’s so comfortable at her house. I get continuous updates during his stay and I never worry when he’s with her!!”

“Yvonne is so very sweet with our puppy. She made me feel very comfortable throughout our time away and sent many updates with pictures. It was wonderful to share with my kiddos throughout our vacation. The updates and photos gave us all great peace of mind that our girl was being well taken care of.”

“Have left our little boy Brady with them multiple times and its obvious he looks forward to his time with them. He always comes home tired from so much playtime. Can not recommend them enough. It's Brady's home away from home!”

“Everything went well with my dog's overnight stay. She got her walks and Sandra communicated with me throughout her stay with photos. Much appreciated Sandra! Hope to use your services again. Lisa H.”

“Lindsey took care of Sydney for a night. When I was there to drop off, the kids and the family welcomed Sydney and made her comfortable. Lindsey provided frequent updates which I greatly appreciate. Sydney had a great stay at Lindsey's.”

“This was my first time boarding my 6-month puppy, but Claudia eased all my worries. I got tons of pictures and updates that gave me peace of mind. I could tell Stella had a great time. If you’re unsure about boarding your pet for the first time, you can trust Claudia!”

“Jessica welcomed Bella with warm and open arms despite the last minute booing inquiry. She saved a Christmas vacation! She took exceptional care of Bella, sent picture and video updates and showed her much love. I high recommend Jessica to watch over your furry loved ones, and will definitely be reaching out to her again when Bella needs boarding. Thank you!”

“Laura was a fantastic dog sitter! She was flexible with scheduling pick up/drop off, sent an update with a photo, and our pup seemed to have a great time with her. We will definitely use her services again!”

“This was my first time using rover and I was nervous. But Pearl was the best. Woody absolutely loved her and had a blast. She sent me a bunch of pictures and really eased my anxiety. Definitely would recommend.”

“Lucky had a great time with Max and Thomas. He enjoyed playing in the backyard and all the pets. Thank you and I'll definitely rebook again. I appreciate the prompt replies to my texts.”

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - North East
I loved interacting with Kwame. He was kind, very communicative, VERY understanding, VERY reliable. I had to leave the country on short notice, looked into his profile, reached out to him and the setup was very smooth. He responded quickly and was all for keeping my baby for about a month. He kept me in the loop, asked any and all necessary questions about care details, sent me photos and videos. Once he knew everything, I was able to go throughout the busy days without checking in consistently. My baby seemed very happy with him & I can tell he was treated with much love. Keanu came home very happy. 💙

Kwame was very prompt with communication regarding our booking. He was flexible in arranging a meet and greet for our dogs. (Kwame's own dogs are very sweet!) Our dog, Indi, seemed to bond to Kwame quickly and was ready to stay when we returned for boarding. Indi was happy when we picked him up. We recommend Kwame and would rebook with him if our need and his schedule worked together.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in MD ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
