About: Hello! I'm Selena, a student at Skidmore college, doing research over the summer. Back home, I'm the owner of one dog as well as two cats, and I regularly dog sit for my friends and family members. My love of animals is well known and I'm always their go-to for pet sitting, as they know I'm always happy to do it. My current Bernedoodle has been with me since she was just a puppy, so I'm very aware of how much care and attention puppies need. I've also cared for dogs on the older side, and I'm open to dogs of all ages and sizes! Caring for pets is very important to me, so much so that when I do not have an animal to care for (i.e. when I'm alone at school), I become very sad. Growing up, taking care of animals every day was very important to me. I am unfortunately a college student living in on-campus housing, so I am unable to care for pets in my own space. However, I make sure pets are happy in my client's home and makes sure to keep the space maintained well!

By the time I was 9, I had adopted a shelter dachshund and raised two more dachshund puppies, bringing my total to five dogs at once. Through years of teaching and working with students of all ages, I’ve developed strong skills in patience, attentiveness, and understanding individual needs—qualities that naturally carry over into the way I care for animals. I also have years of experience caring for cats—both my family’s and now my own sweet cat, Tom. I understand feline behavior, how to earn their trust, and how to create a calm, safe environment where they feel comfortable while you’re away. As a stay-at-home mom to my 2-month-old baby, I’m home often and have a flexible, attentive schedule. I truly value creating a calm, safe, and loving environment—for both pets and people.
