“Eleanor is terrific! She was very conscientious about knowing how to administer my cats’ medicines. When I returned from my trip, my house was as orderly as when I left it. Most importantly, she has a real affinity for animals. My cats loved her. One of them is very reserved but I could tell from the notes and pictures she posted on Rover that he warmed up to her very quickly. I felt very comfortable having left my cats in her capable hands.”

About: I have been taking care of my neighbors, family, friends, and my own dog/pets for 10 years including walks, feeding, watching, and helping train. I have experience with puppies and older dogs as well as injured or sick dogs. I am currently in a local college for health care. I am free all day Saturday-Monday and after 3 Tuesday-Friday. I have transportation and can drive a reasonable distance. I would follow any rules you have set for your dog (ex. food allowed, walking requirements, type of leash/collar for walks, and if they need to be crated or not) I would be able and willing to provide any medical care needed as long as I am shown how to correctly.

“Bradley did a great job following the instructions during the visits with detail. I was impressed with how he handled my dog being over 100 pounds by establishing himself as a friendly presence before interactions. Highly recommend this young man for future opportunities.”

About: My first cat was way back in 1992 when a pregnant cat adopted me. She lived in the apartment next door with 4 other cats, a single Mom and 2 little girls. She would visit my apartment daily, also scoping me out, because she had future plans. Soon after I was the proud Human Step-Mom to Mama cat and her 5 kittens. That started my love for the feline species. I've always owned and loved dogs since my childhood. My first dog's name was Rusty, a smart and gorgeous Golden Retriever. I had tanks full of fish, multiple birds (Peanut could talk-he was a Green Cheek Conure), and often cared for my daughters ferret, Franklin, when she went on vacations. No pets are off limit ..... except snakes and spiders. Willing to administer meds. Currently I am doing pet care full time so I am available just about 24/7. I do have pets at home so I would need to take some time to attend to their needs during the day as well. I currently have both a dog and cat living with me so care outside of my home is preferable. I'm available almost all day and can stop in whenever necessary.

About: I have actively been taking care of dogs since I was a teenager, and in doing so I have worked with a variety of breeds, sizes, and dog of different ages. My manner of minding focuses on building a connection with the dog while uniquely understanding the breed and the specific needs they may need met. I'm very active and thus great with dogs who are looking to get in shape or have high energy levels. I have experience working with dogs who have been abused or neglected and re-socialising them. My home is large enough for multiple dogs of many sizes to be comfortable in as well as a short walk away from multiple parks. Both mornings as well nights are currently available Monday-Sunday.

About: ***Now booking for Fall 2025!*** Hey, Rover friends! My name is Alex (he/they) and I absolutely love dogs. Growing up with an 85-pound yellow lab, I fell in love with these gentle giants as a kid, and volunteered at the local animal shelter during high school. I have experience with various types of training, including crate training, teaching loose-leash walking, and doing socialization work in public places. Over the past four years, I have sat for dozens of clients, both through Rover and for family and friends. I also serve as a regular dog walker for several others. I have experience with a wide variety of dog breeds and ages. From rescue mutts to the stigmatized Bully breeds, family dogs such as the Doodles, Pugs, Bulldogs, and Labrador Retriever, and herding dogs including the Corgi, Cattle Dog, Australian Shepherd, and Shetland Sheepdog, I believe that each dog has a unique personality and can thrive given the right circumstances! In the next couple of years, I hope to adopt a rescue dog myself, but right now, Rover gives me the chance to be around lots of different animals despite my busy lifestyle. I am a PhD candidate, and I work from home a good portion of the week. When I teach, I am typically gone for 4 hours at the most, so I am able to check in on dogs frequently. I am also a very active person and enjoy strolls through the park, long hikes, or easy tempo runs on local cross-country trails. For doggy daycare and boarding, I have a comfy crate that is adjustable to your pup's size, and for their safety, I typically crate them if I leave the house until we have built a relationship. I have a small fenced-in backyard which is perfect for potty breaks, fetch, and short training sessions. I live close to Washington Park, and frequently take pups on the loop around the lake. I also enjoy taking day trips to the Adirondacks and Catskills for hiking :)

Steven D.
“Between conducting independent research and working towards a PhD, I unfortunately found myself very busy and thereby unable to make time to walk my dog. Steven Dang was recommended to me by a friend who had been in a similar circumstance, and so I went ahead and contacted Steven with the offer to walk my dog during the evenings when I would be away, and that I of course, would pay him. Steven was very professional, answering my e-mails in a timely manner, being punctual for our initial and subsequent meetings, and never failing to meet my expectations. In fact, I was worried that my dog would end up loving him more than me, but I digress. As my friend did to me, I highly recommend Steven Dang for this job. Polite, charming, and an extremely hard-worker (he never failed to miss an appointment no matter the weather), I am utterly grateful towards Steven for making my life easier and walking my dog.”

Alex P.

“Alex is physically strong and can walk dogs. He is very caring and conscientious. I’ve seen him interact with my golden retriever. They love each other. He is careful with him when they play fetch or tug of war. He’s chased after and caught up to him before. He listens to Alex well now too.”

Diane G.
“Diane loves dogs! She enjoys taking them for walks and is always patient and kind. I am completely satisfied and trust Diane with my dogs whenever I am out of town”

Normanskill pet parents share their Rover experiences
Merissa was AMAZING with Ollie! From the meet and greet to drop-in visits, she was communicative and wonderful every step of the way. Ollie is very wary of strangers but was even giving her kisses on the third visit. I am so grateful to have someone we BOTH trust to take care of him when I’m away :)

Anna went above and beyond for my 3 cats, even only charging me for the 1 she was feeding (special diet) yet gave the other two special attention as well. I loved all the pictures I received, the update texts, and I never felt nervous knowing she’d be there to make sure they were okay. I will definitely be booking her again if we go on another trip in the future and i’d recommend her highly to anyone I know 💗

It was our cockatiel's first time being cared for by a sitter and Lynne did an amazing job providing us with updates and being attentive to our baby's needs. Our bird is normally very wary and mistrusting of strangers but she seemed already friendly with Lynne by the end of the week! I would trust Lynne to watch over her again

Bradley did a great job following the instructions during the visits with detail. I was impressed with how he handled my dog being over 100 pounds by establishing himself as a friendly presence before interactions. Highly recommend this young man for future opportunities.

Jen is INCREDIBLE! She was the best Rover pet sitter we’ve had. She gave our sweet cat tons of love and attention and sent us many pictures. Beans has kidney disease and Jen was great with her food and care. She also cleaned up an accident that our cat had and was very gracious about it. I could not recommend her more highly. Jen, we hope to have you help us out again soon!!
