“Katherine was easy to work with, flexible and really responsive. Our dogs were well cared for and it gave us great peace of mind. We will definitely use Katherine again! Highly recommend!”

“Marisa did a great job looking after my two cats while I was away! She wrote detailed notes after each drop-in visit and was patient and kind with my anxious cats. I would definitely recommend Marisa to look after your pets!”

“Lizz was very attentive and tailored her cat sitting to our cats’ needs, as opposed to a “one-size-fits-all” approach. Lizz was very helpful with handling other miscellaneous requests around our house - unrelated to cat sitting. Lizz is very personable and friendly, and we felt very comfortable leaving her with our fur babies and access to our home. We will definitely request Lizz in the future!”

“Marion was very responsive, competent, and reliable! I had a great experience hiring her to walk my dog while on vacation visiting Mt. Baker. I only reached out a few days ahead, but she was flexible and very easy to communicate with. I would definitely hire her again!”

“Sophia was very attentive to the needs of my anxious and senior pups. She is great with communication, in time visits and sharing updates with photos. I highly recommend Sophia. Your pets will be in great hands!”

“I really appreciated Ryan taking the time to meet our dogs before our first drop in visit. We came home to 2 very happy and settled dogs who didn’t seem to notice that we had been gone for 11 hours. Would definitely use them again when we have to be gone for extended periods of time. Now Ryan knows the dogs love of playing fetch, they might up the ante next time! Thank you again.”

About: I’ve had pets all my life. In my adulthood, I’ve had the pleasure of being a fur mom to a cat and two Australian Shepard’s. I’m experienced in overnight stays, walking schedules, and drops ins. I’m currently just freelancing so I’ll have plenty of time to commit to your pets. I can range anywhere from staying with your pets full time while you’re on vacation, to walking them on a schedule, or just checking in for potty breaks. I can be as flexible as you need me to be! I personally have experience with crating when needed, giving medications, and basic treat training.
About: Hi I'm Katie! Also known as that British lady! I have owned dogs my entire life, usually always two at a time. I currently have one of my own after losing three elderly dogs in the last few years. I now only have Ernie a chihuahua cross i rescued from Kansas in 2017. I've had experience with various breeds and fostered ex racer greyhounds for a while in the U.K. I also have two indoor/outdoor cats I rescued as kittens from local feral cat litters. I finish work for the Summer in June and can offer drop in services up to three times a day for dogs, cats and smaller furries if you live in the local area, Maple Falls etc. These can be whilst you’re at work to give your beloved pet a potty break or they can be for longer stretches of time while you vacation so you can feel secure your dogs are in their own home safe and comfortable. I can also board dogs in my own home from all over Whatcom county if they are dog/cat/responsible kid friendly. I have a fenced in yard and a very dog friendly house! I finish work for the summer in June and have a lot of availability for both walks, drop ins and boarding! From June 12th my schedule really opens up! I have a fenced yard and a dog friendly home. I have two dog friendly cats who are indoor and outdoor and tolerated living with four dogs and two kids. Dogs are allowed on my sofa and bed but only if you allow that at home… I don’t want to create bad habits!
“Anna was great with communication and helped to reassure that Smokey Preston was well taken care of during her drop-in visits. I greatly appreciated all the photo updates she sent and definitely would request having her help again in the future!”

About: I've had dogs and cats my entire life (I currently have two dogs and four cats) and consider them part of my family. In addition to caring for my own pets, I've often provided care for the pets of my friends and coworkers. I retired a few years ago and now only seek jobs involving animals. For two years, I worked for a Cane Corso breeder caring for his dogs and their puppies - a wonderful job for me. Currently, I work part-time at a small horse ranch where I care for and love two horses and one pony - another wonderful job. If you're looking for someone to take care of your pets (dogs, cats, horses, ponies or really just about anything - haha), just let me know. I have a deep love for all animals and nature and am very reliable. I'll take good care of them while you're away. I retired a few years ago and currently have a small part-time job at a local horse farm doing morning chores and feeding lunch four days a week. I'm pretty flexible with my schedule. I have a deep love for all animals and treat them with kindness and respect. I enjoy walking and playing with them. I'm very reliable and will do everything I can to make your pet feel safe, comfortable, and loved.
“Really thankful for Krystal being flexible and available last minute due to previous sitter cancellation! Great communication, Krystal is friendly and respectful so I will be choosing again :)”
About: I am a mom of two (part-time) I share custody with their dad, when I have free time I like to keep busy! I’ve owned a dog since I was little ranging from small to big. I have had plenty of interactions with others pets too such as cats, birds, and fish. I love animals! I’m not certified in training but have taken beginner level dog train courses. I practice positive reinforcement, I’ve had experience with potty training and crate training. I love walking, playing fetch, hide and seek or any other games your animals love to enjoy to get energy out. I also enjoy just cuddling :) Pet care is a natural part of my lifestyle. I enjoy being active, spending time outdoors, and building routines, so caring for animals fits seamlessly into my day. Whether it’s early morning walks, playtime in the afternoon, or evening check-ins, I prioritize giving pets consistent attention and affection. In a client’s home, I follow their pet’s established routine closely to make sure the transition feels smooth and stress-free. I provide fresh food and water, regular potty breaks, exercise, and plenty of play and snuggle time. I also keep the space clean, tidy, and safe. If I’m housesitting, I respect the home as if it were my own and make sure pets feel comfortable, cared for, and never alone for long stretches.
About: Hi! I’m a lifelong animal lover with professional experience caring for dogs, cats, and farm animals of all kinds. I’ve lived on an alpaca ranch and worked at an animal sanctuary where I helped care for alpacas, chickens, goats, and 8 dogs of all sizes and temperaments. From feeding and medication to cleaning and enrichment, I’ve done it all! I’ve been pet-sitting through Rover for over 4 years and have cared for everything from high-energy puppies to senior dogs with special needs. I’m comfortable with crate training, basic commands, giving medication, and customizing care to your pet’s routine. I also have experience with multi-pet households and reactive or shy dogs. At home, I have a small yorkie-schnauzer mix who’s my trusty sidekick and playmate. Whether your dog loves fetch, long walks, the dog park, or just quiet cuddle time, I’ll make sure they feel loved and safe while you’re away. I’m reliable, communicative, and committed to giving your pets the same level of care I’d want for my own. Let’s chat about how I can help your pets feel happy and at home—even when you’re not! My schedule is open right now. I just work evenings and I am finishing my degree online. I am available during the day for walks, loves, adventures and more and I’m available for overnight stays. I can visit your home for drop in visits or walks and I can stay overnight with your pets for overnight bookings. My schedule is open currently.
About: When I was 7 years-old, my family added a new member, a golden retriever, Finnagin. Dogs have been in my family ever since. I do my best to stay present and connect with each animal I meet. I also have 12 years of house sitting experience, with a goal of leaving each home in the same shape & cleaner than it was upon my arrival. Past experiences have taught me how to help animals adjust to their owners being gone. Diligently maintaining normal routines and providing consistent interaction are my main methods. My 9 year-old beagle, Willow & I are new to the area and have fallen in love with hiking on Washington trails. I'd love to get your dog some exercise while housesitting. This can happen with or without Willow, she's great around other animals. I also have extensive experience caring for cats, chickens, birds, turtles, iguana's, and more. If provided specific care instructions, I'll gladly make sure all of their needs are met during your trip. Most of my full-time work can be done via computer, so I'm able to be with your pets for most of the hours you are gone. I will provide photos/video updates so that you can rest easy knowing everything is being taken care of at home and your pet is safe. I look forward to offering other services, once a relationship has been developed with a family. Please do not hesitate to reach out with any questions you may have. I look forward to connecting with you and your family soon. Peace, Patrick Most of my work can be done remotely. If you have an animal that cannot be left alone, I can most likely accommodate your needs...especially if we have some advance time for me to work my work obligations around your dog. I have a fenced in backyard and a friendly beagle who loves to meet new friends, but also spends plenty of time alone and sleeping. Every other week your pup will get love & respect from our 9 year-old, animal loving Son. He has lived with and been around dogs, cats, and various farm animals since he's been alive. If you have concerns about your dog's potential behavior around a young human, please reach out directly and we can work to coordinate a scenario that works for all of us. If you are hiring me to house and pet sit in your home and would like my dog Willow to remain at my home, just say the word!

Brea is amazing! She initially came by for a meet and greet and we knew immediately she was the one to care for our kitties. Each visit she shared photos and her affection for our cats with us. We truly felt they were receiving the very best care while we were away. We will most definitely call on Brea again. “Thanks Brea”

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
