“Was very pleased with how well she took care of Hershey. He does not like fireworks and she sat with him while the fireworks are going off up the road. She’s already scheduled to come back and watch her again. I would recommend her to watch anybody’s pet.”

“Kerri is the BEST! She stayed at our house for over a week taking care of our dog and cat. Because our dog is large (70lbs) and sometimes anxious/reactive, it can be difficult to find a sitter that is a good fit. Kerri came prepared, asked lots of questions, sent daily updates, and our dog loved her. We will definitely book Kerri again -- highly recommended!”

About: I am currently a College Student majoring in Animal Behavior. I have two years of experience pet sitting and walking dogs. I’ve cared for dogs ranging from puppies to seniors. I have a four year old Black Lab (Olive), and a three year old Boxer (Kyla). Can’t wait to meet your furry friend(s)! I have morning classes, so I have afternoons, evenings and weekends to take care of your pups. During school breaks I will be more available for your needs. I take dogs on leashed walks fitting their needs. I also keep them entertained and fed inside when/if needed. I also can play with your dog in a fenced yard.

About: I’ve been around dogs my whole life and currently have two pugs of my own, so I understand how important it is to find someone you truly trust with your pets. I’m patient, dependable, and attentive to each dog’s personality and routine. I’m comfortable with walks, feeding schedules, medications, senior dogs, and giving pets extra attention and affection while their owners are away. I also work in hospice care, so being compassionate, calm, and reliable comes naturally to me. I’ll treat your pets like family and make sure you feel updated and reassured while you’re gone. I work full time during the week from 9am–6:30pm, but pet care fits naturally into my routine since I already care for my two pugs daily. I’m available for evening visits/walks on weekdays and have much more flexibility on weekends for drop-ins, walks, and overnight care. I’m reliable, communicative, and committed to making sure pets feel comfortable, cared for, and loved while their owners are away. Your pet’s safety and comfort are always my priority. I pay close attention during walks and outdoor time, especially in hot weather, and I never leave dogs outside longer than they should be. I make sure pets always have fresh water, a clean environment, and close supervision to keep them safe from anything that could bother or harm them. I’m also very mindful about keeping floors and spaces clear of anything pets could get into or accidentally swallow. I understand how important trust is when someone is caring for your animals, and I’ll always treat your pets with the same care and attention I’d want for my own
“Micah was such a gem to find! He was thorough in his care for my animals which is not easy as my boxer has a myriad of health and anxiety issues. He provided updates and asked questions when needed. Do not hesitate to book Micah, he is a fine gentleman who will care for your animals like his own. I will not hesitate to reach back out myself!”

About: I have always had dogs and cats growing up, which peaked my interest in animal care. In high school I worked as a kennel technician at a boarding kennel and gained an internship at the local veterinary office. now in college, I am studying animal science to hopefully get a degree in veterinary medicine, and continue to pet sit for my friends and family including both cats and dogs. I'm currently home from college for the summer, and home most of the time! I do have a car, and am available almost any time of the day. I have pets in my home that are not socialized, so I would not be able to pet sit in my own home, but I am happy to make the trip to the comfort of their own home.
About: Simply put, I truly LOVE animals. I have always enjoyed spending time with, and playing with pets of all kinds. I will put your pets' needs above my own. I'm currently working full time, but I am usually home when not at work. I live 5 minutes away from my job, so I will always be available for your fur babies even while working if I need to be. I care for pets the same way I would care for a baby. Their needs are always more important than mine, and I will always make time for them. They also get plenty of attention and play time! Please note: I will have to crate them while at work. This is the ONLY time they will be crated. I will also be home around 1:30 for lunch to take your pet out for a potty break.
About: I have 15 years experience working as a veterinary technician at cat and dog hospitals. I will care for your pet as if they were my own. I can administer medication and assist with mobility, if necessary. Thank you so much for taking the time to read my profile. I look forward to meeting you! I live in Mount Airy, MD and my schedule is very flexible and open. I can assist your pet week days, week nights, and weekends! I have a lovely ten year old daughter who is also an animal lover and very gentle. She may accompany me on visits, but we can discuss that on a case by case basis.
“Delaney watched my dog, Roxie, while we went away for about five days. She did a great job in communicating. Roxie was well taken care of, was happy and had a full bowl of water when we got home. I will definitely ask Delaney to watch my dog again in the future.”

“Hailey did a great job!! We came home to our dogs looking happy and well and the house looked great after a nearly 2 week vacation. She sent very cute pics on request, and checked in daily. ?”

“First time using Rover and leaving my 10-week-old puppy, and Ava was absolutely fantastic. She sent pictures and videos throughout the day, and I could tell he was having so much fun. She kept him on his schedule and was clearly experienced with puppies. I felt completely at ease knowing he was in such great hands- will definitely be using Ava again!”

About: I have had dogs since I was 5, and I started working at a doggy daycare when I was 18. My senior year of highschool I was an intern at a local animal hospital and I loved it! I would love to spend the summer with your dogs and provide whatever services and help you may need! I am currently unemployed for the summer, so I can spend any time needed with your dogs. I have applied for jobs, so if my availability changes you will be notified but as of right now I am free to do anything. I have a huge (not fenced in) backyard. Since working at the doggy daycare, I have experience in helping dogs into crates, doing specific food for the dogs, attending to their personal needs, and making sure they have hours of entertainment and love.
About: With over 25 years of experience raising my own dogs and providing trusted house-and-pet sitting for friends and family, I offer a lifetime of dedicated care. I am a passionate advocate for the human-animal bond; my own dog is a certified therapy dog, and together we volunteer at hospitals, nursing homes, hospice facilities, and schools. I treat every dog I watch with the same compassion and attention I give my own. Because I work during the day, I am primarily available for evening and weekend care, making me an ideal fit for owners who need a reliable presence while they are away or working late. Your pets will receive expert care in a loving, safe environment. Because I work during the day, I am primarily available for evening and weekend care, making me an ideal fit for owners who need a reliable presence while they are away or working late. I will treat your pets and your home with respect and care. Your animals and your home are safe with me! I am considerate and very responsible.
About: I will spoil your pets as if they were my own! I have my own dog, Jovie. She is a 9 month old lab mix and very strong willed. She is also in training to become a service dog. I am used to taking care of big dogs, but have no problem with small ones as well. I will walk and do drop ins to make sure your four legged baby is well taken care of! Currently, I am available most days. Since I was little, animals have always been a big part of my life. From puppies to senior dogs and tiny hatchlings to full grown tortoises, every animal is just a baby and should be taken care of as such. In all my years pet sitting, never have I met a pet that didnt become a friend. I love walking my dog everyday, and multiple times a day. As a high energy breed, she very much thrives from multiple walks and one on one time with mom.
About: In the past 6 years I have taken care of one large dog and three small dogs. I treat every fur baby as if they were my own. I can provide additional puppy training, long walks, and administering medication. I currently work part-time, two to three days a week. I have free afternoons afters 3:30pm depending on location, early mornings 4-8am and some weekends to provide services. My goal is to make your fur baby feel completely at ease. I can offer mile hikes for dogs and cats & bunnies who like outdoor activity and entertainment.
About: I have had dogs since I was born - big dogs, little dogs, hyper dogs, and lazy dogs. I took care of those dogs growing up whether it was walking them, watering them, feeding them, or cleaning up after them. However, I’ve taken care of other people’s pets since I was 10, walking and feeding neighbors dogs and cats, as well as sitting for friends and family. I currently am a senior in high school who gets up at 6 for school, so I have early mornings available, and get out of school at 2:30pm. However, this means I do have weekends free all day every day! I have a huge back yard that so many dogs have enjoyed. I have crates from when my dogs were being crate trained, however now they roam so those crates are open if needed, otherwise I love a dog that likes to sleep in bed!
“Nora has been absolutely fantastic! She does drop-in visits when I am away on vacation or out for work. She communicates well and always sends great pictures of my dogs and cat to let me know how they’re doing.”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - New Windsor
We are very happy to have Jenny watch our little girl again. She provided our little girl with a lot of TLC and kept us informed along the way. Jenny took good care of our home during our extended time away and followed all instructions perfectly. I highly recommend Jenny!

Micah stayed at our home and watched our crazy cat while we were away. He was amazing! He sent updates daily and took great care of Oliver. We came home to a happy cat and a house that was cleaner than when we left. We will absolutely rebook Micah for our next trip!

Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in New Windsor on Rover is $42.18 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred New Windsor walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in New Windsor maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in New Windsor choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
