“Lauren is so lovely and our 2 dogs really enjoyed spending time with her! Sometimes we get the cold shoulder for a day after we return from a trip, but our Goldens clearly loved being able to stay home and have someone love on them while we were away. Lauren was great with updates and pictures! We are thrilled to have found her!”

About: Since 2013 dogs have been a huge part of my life. Between training my own dogs and teaching a variety of dog training classes I have a wealth of experience with many different breeds, ages, and temperaments. Whether you’re looking for walks, playtime, or drop in pet care, weekday availability primarily in the afternoon for potties and play as well as select weekend availability. Your dogs are important and valued members of your family, so meeting their mental, physical, and emotional needs safely and in the ways you specify is always my top priority.
“Althea takes the extra time to make sure the cats are getting the best care! When she found that our cat had thrown up she not only cleaned it all up, but checked the house for more and kept us updated.”

“Allyson cared for our dog for a full week. A prompt message was sent following each visit with a photo or two. We felt at ease that Allyson was going above and beyond to make sure Finn was comfortable while we were away. We are fortunate to have Allyson for our pet care needs!”

About: I’ve been caring for animals for as long as I can remember, from smaller pets like dogs and cats when I was younger to today where I help care for goats and alpacas on my family farm. I also have a young puppy of my own that I’ve been training, so I’m very familiar with routine building and patience when it comes to animals! Currently I am a college student so I am very flexible to work over breaks when I home whether that be weekends or weekdays, day or night! Though I am not available to care for animals in my own home, I will make it a priority to make them as comfortable as possible in yours! Wheather that be crating them, sticking with routines such as feeding, walking, or any other special instructions you leave me, so that your pet can feel consistent and comfortable while you are gone!
About: I’ve been caring for pets for most of my life. I want to make sure your furry (or not so furry) babies feel loved!! I can’t wait to meet them! Whatever your fluffy babies need, I will do my best to make that happen! Let’s chat and see what I can do for you :) I want to make your pet feel as safe and comfortable as possible. I am happy to follow detailed instructions and do those little things that make a difference for your fluffy baby!
“Chichi had a drop-in visit with my dog in anticipation of walking him daily for a couple of weeks. I was impressed by her experience with reactive dogs. She was not at all put off by my dog's fearful reaction to a new person and I am happy to have found someone who understands dog psychology.”

“Megan was great with my two dogs. She was very caring and worked to gain their trust. This was not an easy job because both dogs are wary of strangers. She was calm and understanding and it ended up being an awesome experience! I would recommend her without hesitation ❤️”
About: Truly one of the dog people! I currently have a part time, flexible job of over a year professionally working with dogs, that also gives me plenty of time to spend time with your pet. I’m very flexible and able to work with all of your dogs special wants and needs, and yours! I have tons of experience house-sitting and pet-sitting, I have fostered before and trained my own dogs. I have also taken care of diabetic animals while pet-sitting, and I am able to give medications if needed. I’m available 7 days a week to care for your pet overnight, and with only 5 hour shifts at work—the rest of the day would be spent with your animals. I am able to walk with your dog while you are away if requested. I’m currently only working part time to have more pet-care availability! I prioritize your household and animals, with loads of flexibility to meet your or your pet’s needs. I am available to do drop in services for bathroom breaks, public outings or walks (for well-mannered dogs only), time-sensitive medication administration, puppy care and training, or just hanging out inside of your home to keep them company. I am also experienced with pregnant dogs, nursing puppies, and whelping litters. I am adaptable to your household’s needs in terms of timing, cleaning, schedules and activities. I am happy to upkeep any current training and routines.
“Sammy did a great job looking after my energetic kitty for a few days. She came twice a day and played with her and sent me many pictures! I was nervous about leaving my kitty for the first time, and she put my mind at ease. Will book again!”

About: Motivated and dependable pet caregiver with hands-on experience caring for dogs of various sizes and temperaments. Since 8th grade, I have been volunteering at the NHSPCA, where I regularly played with, exercised, and socialized dogs to support their enrichment and comfort. I also grew up in a dog-loving household and have always had pets, including dachshunds, golden, and currently a lab and a Great Pyrenees mix rescue dogs. Through these, I am skilled in dog walking, feeding routines, administering basic medications, and providing attentive companionship to ensure pets feel safe and comfortable while owners are away. Known for strong communication, punctuality, and attention to detail when following care instructions. Experience balancing a busy schedule as a full-time college student while maintaining responsibility-focused roles such as gym supervisor and tutor has strengthened time management and reliability. Passionate about building trust with both pets and their owners and committed to providing consistent, high-quality care! Pet care fits naturally into my weekly routine. As a busy but well-organized college student, I primarily offer availability on weekends and Friday nights since I do not go out. During these times, I can provide focused, reliable care including walks, drop-ins, and possibly overnight sitting. I plan my schedule carefully to ensure pets receive consistent attention and timely care. I prioritize creating a calm, safe, and trustworthy environment for every pet. In a client’s home, I would carefully follow all provided instructions regarding feeding, walks, medications, and house rules while respecting the space. I keep pets supervised, maintain clean food and water areas, and ensure doors, leashes, and gates are secure at all times. If caring for pets in my home, I provide a clean, pet-friendly environment with plenty of attention, playtime, and structured routines to help pets feel comfortable and stress-free!

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
