“Our pup felt right at home from the start with Kelsey! She stepped in on short notice over a holiday weekend and was very helpful, flexible and easy to work with. We hope to have our pup stay with her again in the future and would highly recommend Kelsey to others.”

“Kiana was amazing She make sure she sent lot of updates along with pictures! Kiana understood how hard is was for me to leave my baby for the first time and keep me at ease! She is definitely part of the family now! Anytime I have to travel I know he'll be okay with his now "Auntie" ...lol”

“Rebecca is amazing with dogs. My izzi had never been away from home or around other dogs. She introduced her slowly to the others and she ended up making several friends over the long weekend. She was so happy to see us, but she was having so much fun, I don't think she really wanted to leave. I would highly recommend Rebecca for anyone who needs a loving second home foe their fir babies. I will definitely use her again.”

“Beth is amazing! Her home was perfect for our high energy dogs, and they really enjoyed playing with her dog as well. I couldn’t have asked for a better person to trust my fur babies with. Thank you, Beth!”

“Christopher was our first pet sitter and he exceeded all of our expectations. He kept our puppy busy and happy while we were away. We also got updates and photos practically daily which was so encouraging! We couldn’t have had a better experience.”

“We were pleased with our dog, Callie's stay with Alex and Nicolas. They walked her numerous times and sent us many photos so that we knew she was doing well. We had a great peace of mind while we had to be away. I would recommend highly!”

“We learned about Rover though a relative and are very glad we did. We have used various other boarding services over the past few years for Sophie. They all have their particular strengths and weaknesses but the personal service provided through Rover is the best option right now. This is Sophie's second stay with Patty and we are very happy with her service. Sophie gets along and plays well with Patty's two dogs. This takes care of two things: Sophie gets a playmate and burns off some energy. Another advantage is that it is much more relaxing and less stressful for her to be in a home environment. Patty sends out photos and updates as well which not only show that Sophie is enjoying herself, but making herself right at home. So all around a good fit for us which we will be using again. Sophie is in good hands when she stays with Patty.”
“Michelle was exceptional. We were in a last minute bind and found Michelle on Rover and Michelle’s Muddy Paws LLC. She provided exceptional care for our 5 yr old Springer Spaniel, Scarlett. Scarlett enjoyed her daily walks in the woods, the special TLC of the fam, and the comfort of having such awesome doggies companions. I would use her services anytime and highly recommend.”

About: Hi, I’m Jessica! I was born and raised in Montague, MI and love everything about it. I have four crazy dogs, four wonderful cats, two guinea pigs, and a 7 year old son. I have 10 years of animal experience, working at two Muskegon County animal shelters and as a vet assistant. I am licensed and insured through my personal business, Muskegon's Poopin Scoopin LLC. With my knowledge, experience, and above all passion; I guarantee the best service possible. I'm currently working part time during the week, so I have extra time to love on your furry friend! I do most of my pet sitting without my son but if you have a pet that loves children, my son would love to join. Your home is my home and I will take care of your home as so. In my home, your pet can have free access to outside with the doggy door. All cats are kept separate from the dogs. All dogs are fed separately. Detailed lists of your pets routine are helpful to ensure each pet is cared for to your expectations.
“So happy we found Melissa to care for our two boys! We had a week long vacation and it was their first time staying with her. She was so great about sharing updates with us, it put us at ease! Melissa is clearly a dog person and just gets it 😊 Our pups got along great with her dogs and left in good spirits. Would definitely use her again for future care!”

“Carlie and her family took great care of my dog while I was gone. Brimley went to the park, took some walks, got to run and play ball and was fawned over by Carlie's little one. Brimley ate up allllll the attention!! I got plenty of pictures andy doggie was popped out when she got home. In fact, when I arrived to pick her up, I don't think Brimley was too keen on going home. I think she wanted to stay and play with the other doggies and their little girl. I let her in the truck and she jumped out the other side. Ha! Highly, highly recommend. I hope I can have them watch Brim again!”

About: I have experience crate and potty training puppies, litter box training, and can assist with basic obedience training. I am comfortable administering medication as directed, and can ensure adherence to veterinary recommendations (ie. wearing a cone, frequent walks/potty breaks, etc). I work limited part time (10 hrs/wk) and already have a solid routine with my own pets, so caring for yours would be easy to manage! I live in a two story home with a finished basement. Some areas in the home are gated off for safety. Our property is fully fenced in. Our home has young children, as well as our own friendly pets: a 5yo female Golden Retriever and two adult male cats. All our animals are fixed/spayed. We enjoy lots of playtime, walking, and running to help get the energy out.
About: I’ve always been the go to friend/aunt to pet sit. I love all animals and would rather spend my free time hanging out with a fuzzy friend. I would loveeeeeeee to walk your dog! I currently work from home and would love a buddy to hangout with! I live close to the bike trail and many parks and would enjoy a furry friend to take walks with! If you are in need of someone to drop in, have a place for your pet to stay or just a companion for your friend to take walks with I am the one you are looking for!
“Michelle was an awesome caregiver for our boxer! Bonnie loved her time with Michelle, and we knew Bonnie was in the best hands possible while we were away from home....Thank you, Michelle!”
“Kelli was wonderful with our lab! Zeus fit right into her family and was immediately at home with them. She has three boys who gave Zeus plenty of love. And Kelly did a great job updating me with photos throughout our vacation. We had so much peace of mind with Zeus in her care. We will definitely use Kelli again!”

About: I love taking care of and playing with dogs as I have had 5 throughout my life! I am recommended by my friends to others. I am currently a student at GVSU and I work at Butterworth hospital in Grand Rapids on the weekends. I am available to dog/cat sit Monday-Thursdays. Right now I live in an on campus apartment at GVSU and live 2 minutes away from a huge dog park. During the summer, I will be at home with a fenced in backyard in a very safe environment. I have 4 dogs and 1 cat at home. When I move out, I will be living in an apartment that is pet friendly with a dog park!
About: I’ve taken care of animals for as long as I remember. It started with my family dog and bearded dragon which both lived a very long and fulfilling life. I currently have a border collie mix of my own right now and some fish. I have lots of experience walking and taking care of dogs. I have experience taking care of dogs of all sizes, all ages (puppy to senior), all energy levels, and various different breeds (Boykin Spaniels, Pitbulls, Pomeranians, Border Collies, and Labs to name a few). Some of those dogs were anxious and/or reactive. I also understand the extra patience it takes to care for rescues and fosters because I volunteered at an animal shelter in Minnesota when I was in high school, my dog is a rescue, and I fostered a sweet Black Lab puppy in college. I have some experience caring for cats. I’ve watched cats for a few of my friends with no issues! Something that makes me different than other pet sitters is that I’m a wildlife biologist, so I am very educated about a lot of species and am always so excited to gain more experience caring for a new creature. I handle and manage for wild animals daily. In summary, I’d love to take care of your pet and give it the love and attention it deserves. Feel free to reach out anytime! I have plenty of free time right now, all day, every day. I am temporarily furloughed because of the government shutdown so am looking for some more cash. This seemed like a fun way! Safety is very important to me. If your pet comes to my place or if I watch your pet, I would keep them safe by following these rules I’ve created: - I don’t let dogs have huge bones or huge treats without supervision to avoid choking. - I always have the closest vet’s number written down in case of emergencies prior to caring for your pet. - I always have pet first aid supplies available just in case. - I ask about a pet’s reactivity towards dogs, people, and other animals prior to caring for your pet so I can keep your pet safe on walks.
“Paige is the BEST! She took magnificent care of our bulldog, Darla who requires a lot of attention and lovies. Paige sent daily reports, funny anecdotes about Darla’s and sweet pics of our pudgy princess. She’s also very attentive and gives expertise in her care. I would highly recommend her and hope to book her again. Thank you so much, Paige!”

About: What Sets Me Apart- Pet care is my profession, not a casual hobby. Backed by over a decade of industry experience, independent professional liability insurance, and Advanced Pet First Aid/CPR training, I offer a level of safety and expertise that standard sitters cannot match. Professional Grooming & Boarding Background: With professional hands-on experience working in grooming salons and boarding facilities, you can have peace of mind that your pet is in good hands. I excel at reading subtle canine body language, handling all breeds and sizes safely, and monitoring your dog's physical and emotional health. First Responder Background: As a former paramedic and firefighter, I bring a high level of situational awareness, hazard recognition, and emergency readiness to my pet care. I have a college-level education in anatomy, physiology, and medication administration. Senior & Special Needs Care: Experienced in handling low mobility pets, arthritis management, complex medical schedules, and the predictable routines that aging pets require. Puppy & Young Pet Support: I provide the patient and consistent care needed to keep your housebreaking, crate training, and basic leash manners right on track. Whether boarding or on a walk, your pet receives premium, attentive care backed by real world emergency response and professional industry experience. Since providing pet related services is my full-time profession, my schedule is built around the dedicated care of my clients and their pets. I keep a detailed calendar, but I also understand that flexibility is a necessity. My clients' needs can shift rapidly, and my routine is designed to adapt to those situations efficiently. Strict Timing for Core Needs: Even with a changing daily route, specific feeding times, medication windows, and midday walks remain locked into my itinerary and are prioritized to happen on time. No Excessive Absences: Because my schedule brings me back and forth throughout the day, pets are never left alone for excessive intervals. Sitting and boarding guests are typically left for no more than 3 to 4 hours at a time. When you book with me, you get the best of both worlds: I am an organized and reliable professional who can pivot instantly to meet your changing needs. In My Home (Boarding) Location & Yard: Near downtown Ludington and Cartier Park. My home is located on a standard sized city lot and features a secure 4 foot fence. Controlled Environment: My home is a cozy and quiet, adult only bungalow (only myself and one other adult female live in the home). Indoor Air Quality: Strictly no smoking, candle burning, or oil diffusers are permitted inside the home. Health & Safety: All guest dogs must be fully vaccinated and current on flea/tick prevention. Advanced Yard Sanitation: Outdoor areas are sanitized using the professional-grade Wysiwash system to eliminate pathogens like Parvo, Giardia, and hookworm. Built In Companion: I have one friendly, 50lb neutered male dog living in the home. He is fully vaccinated, socialized, and non-aggressive. Home Comforts: Dogs are welcome on the furniture, but only if allowed by your specific house rules. In Your Home (Walking & Sitting) Safety & Security: I actively scan for household and environmental hazards while ensuring all entryways, doors, and gates are locked. Focused Walks: I provide structured, fully engaged walks to prevent hazardous encounters. I always wear a high-visibility safety vest, carry a specialized pet first aid kit, and ensure all waste is professionally recovered and disposed of. Health Inspections: Leveraging my grooming background, I regularly check paws, coat, and body language to catch any early signs of stress or discomfort. Property Respect: Your home is treated with respect and left exactly as you left it (if not better). In any setting, you receive clear communication and the peace of mind that comes with a fully insured, emergency trained professional.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in MI ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
