“Diana is fantastic! She jumped right in to help me with my new puppy for about two weeks now and we’ve a few more on the books. She gone above and beyond to help my take care of and start training my puppy! She’s timely and very communicative. SO thankful for her!!”

About: I’ve had dogs my whole life. I have experience with diabetic dogs. Dogs that need medicine. Special needs dogs. I love to play with them, walk them and I will treat them as my own. We raise horses so I have a lot of experience where you have to pay close attention so I would notice if something is off with you dog and I would address it immediately. I’m retired so you would not have to worry about your dog or cat. I would walk, brush, and play with your dog or cat. I would take care of your animal as my own at your home. I would make sure they are loved like my own. If they have special needs or need shots, medicine or anything extra you can feel safe with me.
“Grace was amazing! I trusted her to do a few drop-in visits for my fancy rats and she did great! She was excited to care for them and comfortable with handling them which can be so hard to find. My first sitter cancelled on me but Grace was able to step in within a days notice and she even sent me pictures while I was away. I look forward to booking her again in the future!”

About: Experience accommodating disabled dogs. Personally raised 3 dogs beginning in 2006. Boarded dogs for coworkers for the past 2 years. Proud adopter of a disabled dog. Dog walking/care available before noon any day of the week. I am employed full time as an industrial electrician, however caring for dogs is my passion. My dog is an adopted terrier mix, missing her left hind leg. I have personal experience in caring for disabled dogs, including specialized diet and exercise routines.
“Kelly was so sweet and so good with our dog. She watched him for a couple drop ins last minute after our sitter cancelled. She was always either on time or early, stayed later than expected to, sent great pictures and gave us updates! I highly recommend Kelly!”
About: I have three pets (two dogs and a kitten). I have had my dogs since they were puppies and trained both. They are basic and advanced command trained, crate trained, and potty trained. My sister successfully captured a stray kitten and after getting him fully vetted he is now our indoor cat who has been successfully litter trained. I have babysat many of my neighbors dogs and love walking my two dogs. I know how to deliver medicine to pets and feel comfortable caring for older pets. I'm currently working part time so I have a flexible schedule! I am available most weekends and during the week. I start a hybrid college course in January. When I visit your home I ensure to leave things the way I found them (hang up leashed/put toys away) and I am happy to meet a home before care for instructions.
About: I absolutely adore animals, but dogs are what I know best. I've always grown up with a dog in my house and currently live with 2 now. I’m happy to help in any way I can while I’m back in school pursuing a degree in healthcare :) I’m currently in school and have classes on Mondays over the summer. I’m happy to work around my study schedule to provide care for your pets. In your home what you say goes. I’m there for your pet and to respect your space. I know how I would feel letting someone in my home, so I hope to put your mind at ease.
About: I've grown up living with dogs and have been the primary trainer for my family's dogs. I do pretty well working with new pets and can handle full size dogs. I'm an engineer who gets home from work around 4 or 5PM. My weekends are empty 3/4 weekends a month. I can do overnights on Sunday and during the work week if your dog is used to being alone 9-5. I have a small yard, and live next to the beach. I typically walk my dog to the beach 2-3 times a day on the weekend and she swims often. I usually use a harness to walk dogs, never leave them unattended outside since I have no fence. Make sure they have food twice a day and water always full.
About: I’ve spent my entire life surrounded by furry companions, and understand their needs and energy completely. With boundless enthusiasm and endless patience, I’m here to provide a loving, engaging experience for your pets! I am available for early morning shifts, evenings, and weekends, and I can generally accommodate your schedule with at least 24 hours' notice if needed. I maintain a safe and minimalist environment that provides ample space for your cats or dogs to play. Additionally, I can rearrange the areas in various configurations to meet your pets' needs.
About: I have been surrounded by animals my whole life, and through those years they interest me more and more. I had/have multiple cats and dogs, and the connection with them has been something I couldn’t imagine not experiencing. Plus, the knowledge I have gained from being around familiar animals makes me feel I would love experiencing new things with other pets, and get to know their unique personalities. With that being said, I am open to almost any training/service necessary for your dog(s) or cat(s) needs and would love to get to know your fuzzy family! I’ve just started school, and my classes are every weekday from 5:30 pm to 10 pm, just so you’re aware if that contradicts any booking requirements you need. I have my own pets to take care of, but other than that I don’t have consistent routines that would get in the way of the times and dates I’m available. For drop-ins, I will do feedings, outdoor/potty time, and get to know your pet(s). If there’s any questions or other service not noted that you’d like to ask I can do, I would be happy to answer. Walks- I do at least 15 minute walks, and up to 90 minute walks. More characterized questions, such as walking area or what certain necessities your pet(s) needs can be discussed once I have contact/a schedule with you.
About: Growing up my mom always told my family it was "either us or a pet" forbidding us to allow a pet inside. In her defense, she grew up in Europe, their pets were kept/lived outside, and she loves her house spotless. Ever since I can remember animals have had a huge place in my heart. All of the summer has been spent on the docks/marina in New Buffalo with that being said many boaters have dogs. The rule in the marina is that dogs are only allowed to use the bathroom by the railroad tracks, which is about a 15-minute process. So when I was about 8 I started a business on the docks and would take anyone's dog to go the bathroom/walk/play making it convenient for dog owners through The Moore marina. Ever since then, I have cat/dog sat while people have been out of town and in my college town take my friend's dog on a walk or to the dog park. This summer I will be in 10 semester hours for classes through the University of Iowa which is all online allowing me a very flexible schedule. My assignment will be assigned to me Monday and be due either Friday or Sunday night. In between watching lectures and doing homework taking a study break to play or go on a walk with a dog would be refreshing and fill me with happiness. When it comes to dog walking or playing, the most important thing is to ensure the safety and well-being of the pet. A checklist I made for myself to ensure the a safe and fun evirovernmnet : 1) Before starting the walk or play session, I make that the dog has had a chance to go to the bathroom and has access to water. 2) Choose a safe and appropriate area for the walk or play session. If walking in a neighborhood, make sure to use a leash and avoid busy roads or areas with heavy foot traffic. If playing in a park, make sure the area is fenced in and safe for dogs to run and play. 3) Monitor the dog's behavior and adjust the intensity of the walk or play session accordingly. Some dogs may need a more vigorous workout, while others may prefer a more leisurely pace. 4)Bring along water and treats for the dog to reward good behavior and keep them hydrated. 5) Always clean up after the dog by bringing waste bags and properly disposing of any waste. 6)After the walk or play session, check the dog for any injuries or signs of exhaustion. Give them a chance to rest and provide them with fresh water. Every dog is different, and it's important to me to tailor my care to the individual needs of the pet.
About: I’ve been taking care of animals since I was a child. I have experience walking others dogs for the past ten years. I work well with both dogs and cats and haven’t met one that didn’t like me yet. I have experience administering certain medications. I currently work full time in retail. I’m consistently off and available for 24 hour care on fridays. Throughout the week I’m flexible and able to do walks and drop in before and after work. Housesitting during the week is not a problem. I will provide any kind of care I’m instructed to give. I will treat your pets as if they were my own. Shy pets are not a problem either!
About: I have always enjoyed spending my time with animals. I got my first dog when I was in elementary school - sadly he recently passed away - but since coming to college I have been missing my sweet fur baby. Being able to play with and care for someone else's pet while also earning extra cash would be an ideal job experience for me. Getting a new pet really isn’t an option for me right now. With all the free time on my hands, and I would love to get the chance to spend it walking and playing with your fur babies! In the past, I have dog sat for other friends and family and I really enjoyed it and having the extra company is always a plus!

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
