“Kelly was so sweet and so good with our dog. She watched him for a couple drop ins last minute after our sitter cancelled. She was always either on time or early, stayed later than expected to, sent great pictures and gave us updates! I highly recommend Kelly!”
“Great care-my cat is pretty shy but she took care of both him and took the time to check on my home as well. Even checked on my plants and made sure to note any potential health issues.”

About: I’ve always loved taking care of animals since I was young. I grew up around springer spaniels, australian cattles, labs, pomeranians, and retrievers. I’ve been pet sitting for neighbors the past few years and decided to join the app to get to know more furry friends in our community. I have a tuxedo cat and Italian Greyhound dog. I typically work 11-2 most days so I have earlier mornings/evenings I can dedicate to taking care of your pet! I work from home so it shouldn’t be difficult to pop over to your house to play with your furry friends. My dog is my best friend but she is an escape artist so I am always very careful about always checking the yard for any escape routes and always keeping them on a leash. I will always be very careful with your dog and cat because safety is my top priority!
About: I have grown up around pets, both cats and dogs, and always enjoyed caring for them. I’m confident I can adjust to your pets needs. I have a flexible schedule, so I can manage drop ins and walks for dogs at whatever times work best for you and your pet’s schedule I will always do everything I can to ensure the safety of your pets when they are in my care. If there are any special requirements for your pet please let me know so I can ensure their safety
“Laralyn took great care of my puppy! She is very sweet and made sure my puppy had a fun time! She also corrected her when it was necessary. I would definitely book with her again!”

About: I grew up a dog lover, and when I moved into an apartment, I became a certified cat person. I have 2 cats of my own that get so stressed out when I go on trips and don't bring them! So I really understand the importance of going above and beyond to play with your pets and keep them company. I am working a full time job that changes hours seasonally. Right now I am available anytime on Monday and Tuesday, and before noon the rest of the week. I am totally comfortable sending pictures and videos of your pets while I’m visiting! We can discuss any other house sitting tasks you would like done, but rest assured and hairballs or other messes will be cleaned!
About: I’ve grown up around dogs. Either it being within the family or friends. I have experience with all sizes and ages. I have no concern adapting to your dogs unique needs. I work partly remote through the week. Allowing for pee breaks throughout the day. I have weekends open most of the time. It will be no problem to provide a comfortable stay for your pup. I have a fenced yard and safe house in a great neighborhood. I currently have one medium dog full time and my girlfriend has two small dogs here part time.
“Alicia was great!! We needed some last minute help with visits for our 2 great danes. She was very flexible with the number and timing of visits that we thought would be best. She updated us with photos, and our dogs looked like they were happy and playing the whole time!”

About: I grew up with 3 animals, I had a rat terrier who lived until she was 15 so I am able to take care of elderly dogs and german shepherd. I currently have a male puppy german shepherd, although I am not certified at training I was able to potty train my puppy and teach him to sit and stay until my command. I am currently a full time student, I have classes from 9:30am-4pm, so any time before and after that I am available. On weekends I’m more flexible. I can crate your dog if needed, I will watch the dog constantly and make sure he/she is fed and has water, while also playing with him/her and making sure they use the bathroom.

With boundless enthusiasm and endless patience, I’m here to provide a loving, engaging experience for your pets! I am available for early morning shifts, evenings, and weekends, and I can generally accommodate your schedule with at least 24 hours' notice if needed. About: Ive always had pets growing up my whole life, I started watching other people’s pets my last year of high school. I love all animals and I care for them like they are my own. I know how difficult it can be to leave your pet behind when going on vacation, work calls, etc. which is why I keep all owners updated and informed on how their fur babies are doing. I currently work a 9-5, M-F. However my boyfriend gets off work at 3. Which is why I have my availability set to the weekends. I am not opposed to weekdays I just want to be up front about my schedule. I live on a half acre but we are out in the country surrounded by open fields. Therefore we have plenty of room to run, walk, and play, I also have two dogs myself to keep yours company and play! I do crate my own dogs when I leave the house because we have an open pantry and we’ve had trips to the vet because of things being eaten that should not have been… Therefore I prefer to crate dogs when I leave the house.
“Bethanie did a wonderful job taking care of our 4 kitties, fish and even watering my plants for me while I was out of the country for two weeks. She was very conscientious, caring, and sent photos promptly. I would be happy to book her again in the future!”

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
You and your sitter can agree on a care schedule that fits your pet’s routine and the sitter’s availability. Pet Sitting can be booked as a one-time or recurring drop-in visit. If you need overnight care or dog walks, you may also be able to book House Sitting or Dog Walking through Rover with the same sitter, provided they offer those services.
Before booking, confirm:
- the timing, length, and frequency of visits;
- the care instructions the sitter should follow;
- which parts of your pet’s usual routine should be prioritized;
- how often you would like to receive messages, photos, or other updates.
Not every sitter offers the same services, availability, or booking options. Review their profile and discuss the care you need through Rover before booking each service.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first Meet & Greet .
sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy , which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.
Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means you will get a full refund and our support team will work with you to find a replacement sitter.
