“I came home shortly after Jasmine came to check up a final time and dropped Willow off. Both Naomi and Willow are so incredibly tired but absolutely happy! I am so glad all my girls got tons of exercise with Jasmine and her companion, Kiwi. As a first time user of this website, and of hiring a pet sitter in general, I was absolutely happy to get regular check in's/ updates on all my girls while I was away. I was admittedly very nervous to have a sitter come over but Jasmine made it such a smooth and easy process. She definitely gained my trust for future needs and I will absolutely be recommending her to friends and colleagues.”

About: I’ve taken care of dogs since I was 12 years old. I have experience with dogs who have special needs, specifically, neurological disorders requiring medication administration. I’ve spent the last two years training my dog, Bubba, through separation anxiety and reactive aggression. He went from chasing cats to occasionally taking naps with them. My first dog, Lilly, was reactive to dogs and when I brought home Bubba as a puppy, my family called him “snack” because they didn’t think it was possible, but she immediately took him in and they were inseparable for 7 years! I’ve always been gifted at reading animals - humans, not so much. I will always advocate for those who can’t advocate for themselves :) I’m available every day, whenever you need! I recently quit my job and needed a fun way to get a little extra cash before moving to the PNW! Unfortunately, my dog is an anti-social introvert and doesn’t like visitors. His house, his rules… However, I’m more than happy to care for your pet inside of your home!
“Shanti is absolutely wonderful! If I could leave her 10 stars, I would. She is very pleasant, responsible, and she took fantastic care of our two high maintenance cats and the house. I am so happy I found her!”

About: I’ve always had a genuine love for animals and understand how important it is to have someone you trust caring for your pets while you’re away. I have experience caring for my own pets as well as helping with pets belonging to family and friends. I’m comfortable with feeding, walks, playtime, potty breaks, and giving pets plenty of attention and affection. I’m dependable, patient, and will treat your pets and your home with the same care and respect I would want for my own. Pet care fits naturally into my routine, and I’m happy to make time for walks, feeding, playtime, and plenty of attention. I’m primarily available evenings and weekends, with additional availability depending on the day. I’ll always communicate clearly about my schedule before accepting a booking. Your pet’s safety and comfort are my priority. I’ll follow your pet’s normal routine and any instructions you provide for feeding, walks, medications, playtime, and bedtime. I’ll also respect your home, keep you updated while you’re away, and make sure your pet receives plenty of attention and care.
About: I’ve grown up with many cats and different types of dog's. I had a dog that was 19 years old and have been self training my current dog since I got him. Im currently a student at Chico State so I have plenty of time after classes and school. I have plenty of time to walk and play with your pets after 2pm on most weekdays. I make sure there’s no way to escape or places that can hurt your pet if it gets in those places. I would make sure to be attentive and make sure I know what they’re up to.
“Autumn was responsive and reliable. She agreed to feed our outdoor cats with very little advance notice. We really appreciated her communication with us about the cats and were pleased with the service she provided. We will hire her again.”
“Christina provided excellent care for our cat while we were on a two week vacation. She left our home in impeccable condition and even put fresh sheets on our bed. She communicated clearly and regularly. She sent pictures of our fur baby while we were away because she knew that we missed him. We highly recommend Christina.”

“We reached out to Carrington to find a new local pet sitter for our Junior cat, Baby Groot! She was friendly and communicated very well. We appreciated the time she spent getting to know our pets during the Meet & Greet. Baby Groot warmed up to Carrington right away! We appreciated her attention to detail, great photos and the adorable little report card that she created for us! She was prompt, professional and caring!”

Frequently asked questions about Rover
As of November 2026, there are 55 sitters on Rover offering Cat Sitting across Nelson. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee, which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first Meet & Greet.

Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means you will get a full refund and our support team will work with you to find a replacement sitter.
