Growing up, my family has had various dog breeds: a Great Pyrenees, a Bernese Mountain Dog, Dachshunds, a Golden Retriever, and even a Lab/Spaniel/Retriever mix. About: I adopted a kitten 16 years ago. When I moved into my first house, He was my best bud and he was a special breed. Maine Coon/Norwegian forest cat. His personality was amazing and smart, and he ran this house. I just lived in it to serve him. Sadly cancer has taken him away from me in October 2025 and it was the hardest goodbye I have ever dealt with in my entire life and it breaks my heart just talking about it. Since then I have adopted a new member of our family named Abel and I see gizmo in this new kitten more than I ever imagined I would. My husband and I have used to her a few times while we have been out of town to give our 16 year old kitty her daily blood pressure medicine. Not only is she friendly and responsive towards people as well as reliable. She’s patient and kind with pets. My 16 year old girl who’s normally shy around strangers was at first shy around Melissa but has since warmed up that when it isn’t med time, she will greet her and let Melissa pet her for a few seconds (as is her nature she isn’t a kitty that likes being touched in general unless it’s on her terms) Melissa has her own two pets which I think helps with knowing how to read animal body language but also helps animals eventually trust her. I honestly couldn’t ask for a better pet sitter for the things I’ve asked of Melissa while we are away, if you ask politely and remember she to is a person. She delivers exceptionally!! Titus and I are very active, we run in Upper Park a few times a week so, if this is something your dog is trusted to do, let me know! I provide leashed walks and runs as well; those walks always come with basic training (loose leash walking, street safety, etc.) I would love to have the opportunity to give you peace of mind, knowing that your loved dog or cat gets the exercise attention needed during times that you can't offer it. I have a flexible work schedule that opens up all sorts of windows throughout my day, from morning to evening. With this schedule, along with being normally and naturally active (with an active dog), I have no problem creating time for your pet's needs. During check in visits, I can provide whatever is needed to help your pet feel secure and taken care of while you're away. Food, water, potty breaks, walks, play time, medication. About: Currently have a dogs and a cat. Was up to 8 cats and 2 dogs after rescuing a litter of and an single orphane. I also rescued my own dog as well after she was abandoned by a friends roommate. I have had animals all my life as well. Even farm animals due to participating in FFA I can help continue house, crate, leash, etc. train while i care for them. I am not a certified trainer but I've gone through training with my own and feel comfortable implementing your routine while watching your pet. I can also bathe animals if needed I work randomly at Kay Jewelers and have a son I have about 75% of the time. I am available during most of the work week and weekend. I have been given mostly closing shifts so evenings are busier for me than mornings. My life is work and home, and when I'm home I'm always looking for a reason to be out of the house. About: I grew up here in Northern California with many different loyal pet dogs. After high school I joined the Army and got out of active duty in 2017. Long story short I moved to Alaska with my pet dog from Yuba City where I learned to be a dog musher and she learned to be sled dog. I’ve worked for various different high level sled dog kennels, thousands of different dogs, thousands of hours with dogs, thousands of miles with dogs, and even spent a year working at an Athletic & Longevity Canine Research Facility under the mentorship of some of best veterinarians and scientists. My knowledge and experience in general canine medical care, psychology, and training is advanced. I currently work from home & have a flexible schedule. I open to the special needs & care of your beloved pet from all ages. Each pet is individually unique when it comes to specific pet care, so I will work diligently with owners to best understand their pet. I have 1 spayed female 8 y/o Shepherd/Husky mix who is well tempered, a lead sled dog, well socialized to keep your pet company(friendly with both dogs & cats). I have a dog door that leads to a fenced in backyard. Regularly scheduled feeding, walks, & bathroom breaks.
About: I've had pets all my life and always been a huge animal lover. I also been left in charge of animals whenever family members were out of town. I actually have a cat myself (who I love dearly). And I've had many pets growing up through my childhood and so I am very experienced with all kinds of pets. As for my cat I clean his litter box every day. So, for any cat owners I would be more than happy to make sure litter boxes are kept clean. As for other pets and routines I will keep to any schedule that the client requests. About: I volunteered at Haven Humane Society in Redding for three years, where I gained a lot of experience caring for both cats and dogs. While I was there, I helped clean and sanitize their areas, walked dogs, and spent time socializing with the cats. In my personal life, I have a kitty who is my pride and joy! Growing up, my family has had various dog breeds: a Great Pyrenees, a Bernese Mountain Dog, Dachshunds, a Golden Retriever, and even a Lab/Spaniel/Retriever mix.
