Chelsea was wonderful, we booked her last minute after a family member became ill and could not sit our dog, Kenzie. She stayed over night and sent pictures and updates. I felt very confident leaving our home and dog in her care. Will definitely use her again.

About: I’ve been around and owned pets my entire life, and know how important it is to have someone you can rely on while you’re away. I have experience with puppies and kittens as well as elderly animals. I am reliable and communicative, and I will always prioritize the health and happiness of your pet. I work full time (8-5) currently while taking pre-requisite classes for nursing school, so my availability is mainly in the evenings and on weekends. I’m available for evening visits and walks, and I can also do overnights on the weekends. Midday visits or lunch walks may be possible on some days, but my daytime schedule can vary, so those would just need to be planned in advance! I care for pets in their own home where they’re most comfortable and able to stick to their normal routine. I follow instructions closely and make sure they get attention, companionship and a calm presence while you’re away. When house sitting, I keep the home tidy and secure - my goal is to reduce stress for both pets and owners.

About: With 21 years of hands on experience caring for dogs and cats, I provide reliable, compassionate care tailored to each pet's unique needs. I began working with animals at 16 in a professional dog grooming salon, where I learned safe handling techniques, pet behavior, and how to help animals feel calm and comfortable. I've worked in multiple kennel environments and have experience with pets of all breeds, sizes, ages, and temperaments. From energetic puppies to shy cats and senior pets. I treat every pet like family, keeping them safe, comfortable, and loved while maintaining their normal routines. You can count on me to provide attentive, trustworthy care and peace of mind while you're away. I'm home most of the day, so your dog will rarely be left alone for more than 2–3 hours. My flexible schedule allows me to provide consistent attention, care, and companionship throughout the day. I provide attentive, reliable care in both my home and yours, always focusing on your pet's comfort, safety, and routine. Whether boarding or providing drop in visits, I maintain regular feedings, potty breaks, playtime, fresh water, and plenty of affection. I closely monitor each pet's well being, follow all care instructions, and provide updates for your peace of mind. My home is clean, pet friendly, and stocked with most essentials. Just bring your pup, their food, leash, and collar, and I'll take care of the rest!

About: Taking care of animals brings me so much joy! I live at the beach and love walking dogs through my neighborhood to the beach. I am comfortable controlling big, strong dogs on walks. I grew up with 2 medium sized dogs and have always loved animals. My sister is a veterinarian and is on call if your animal has any issues. I’m in a career transition right now, so your business so greatly appreciated ❤️ I am a yoga instructor working part time, so I have a lot of time for your pets! My typical day is: wake up early, walk the dog I’m caring for, feed the pup, let out again, then teach yoga. I’m gone for about 3 hours then return home for a long walk with the pup :) then we relax at home as I typically work on my computer. Your pup will be the only dog in my house - he or she will have all my love and attention! I am happy to have your pet sleep in my bed and lay on my couch if they want! I love walking and have plenty of have time for long walks. I have training on how to safely handle reactive dogs on leash. My sister is a veterinarian and I have learned a lot from her in case of an emergency. I do not have a fully fenced in yard, but am happy to take your dog to the dog park if that would be helpful to release energy! The beach is also a short walk away :)

About: Growing up I have always lived helping others and even helping animals. As a young kid, I grew up surrounded by all kinds of animals. Although my college plan is to become a special education teacher, I have always had a passion for animals. I really enjoy giving animals a voice and creating special bonds with them. Over the years my family has rescued over 8 animals including dogs and cats. I have been dog sitting for 3 years now for family friends and I am willing to do it for anyone in need. Animals have always left an impact on my life and I hope I do the same to them. I am not doing this for the money but to help many animals in need, as well as their owners. I really hope I am able to give endless love to you pet or pets. Thank you.

About: Ive had dogs in my family ever since I was a kid. I have a 10 year old pit mix, a 13 year old husky, and a 1 year old husky, so I know how to care for multiple dogs at once and dogs of all ages, including puppies. I will care for your dog the way you would. I will take them on as many walks as youd like, and treat them as if they were my own. I get along very well with all dogs and I have plenty of experience. I dont trust my dog with just anybody, so I know how important it is to build that trust with your dog and to not change their comfortability and routine. I work from home, so I am free for as many walks or as much play time as needed! I am available all day every day, and your dogs will be my first priority. I can go on as many walks as needed, depending on the age and activity level of your dog. I have experience crate training my own dog if you need me to do that. I will care for your dog the same way as if youve never left.

We can't even begin to describe how amazing Jacqueline took care of our dog while staying at her house! She kept us constantly updated with photos and comments, something that put our minds totally at ease while attending a wedding out of town. She has a beautiful dog of her own and treated our dog as if he, too, was family. Her love for animals is quite apparent. Our boy just absolutely loved her entire family and I know that he will be excited to spend more time with them!

On April 10, 2026, we used Rover for the first time and couldn't be happier that we found Mallorie. She was prompt, provided stellar communication and, most importantly, was super attentive to Barley and respectful of him and our home. We will book Mallorie again any time our schedules sync and highly recommend her.

Chana is a wonderful, kind young lady who is also extremely conscientious. It was her first time sitting with our pups, and while one of them can be a bit challenging Chana was able to win him over after a few days. She is also a very good communicator. We highly recommend Chana for any type of pet care.

FAQs for House Sitting - Nassau

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for House Sitting in Nassau on Rover is $83.25 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of July 2026, there are 301 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Nassau. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Nassau walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Nassau maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Nassau choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Nassau. On Rover:

  • 93% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 96% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 100% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
