“Our first time to use Rover and leave our babies with a stranger! It went wonderfully and we had a great trip knowing our dogs were comfy at home and enjoyed the pictures she sent at every visit! We know they were well loved. Excited to not be anxious to travel again because we will definitely use her again!”

“I was so nervous using River for the first time to watch our kitties as I’m a very nervous cat mom, Bethany came to meet me before our first visit and I knew her genuine sweetest was going to be a great fit. She showed up every day on time for our cats feedings and kept their water bowl and liter fresh. She sent so many pictures while we were away which I looked forward to every day on our trip. I felt at ease while we were away the entire time not once did I need to worry. If I could give Bethany 1000 stars I would, truly our cats are our babies and they were taken so good care of. Will definitely be using Bethany again when we’re away!”

“Joshua was great with our cat and did everything that I requested so our cat was cared for. He sent lots of pictures and notes. I would definitely recommend him to anyone and would book him again!!!”

“Matt and Nicole did a wonderful job taking care of my cats. It was so great getting pictures everyday and they took so many great ones! It’s nice not having to worry that your pets are fed and taken care of. I’d definitely ask for them again!”

“Isabella was great with our pups! I could tell from the photos she sent that they were happy to hangout with her. She was responsive and very sweet. We will definitely be using her again!”

“She took great care of my baby even though she was a little nervous. She was able to gain Sophie's trust and I like the constant communication and commitment. Thanks for your understanding and care of my baby girl.”

“Good communication! Sent me numerous photos during her check ins with my two cats, even fed my fish for me which was extremely helpful. Always on time and interacted with my cats, making them comfortable while I was away.”

About: Hi there! I'm Lyndsay! I am a 28, and am very understanding of what a dog needs, and will always keep their emotions, safety and energy level all into focus for them to have the best time possible that is beneficial to them! I am known to aimlessly walk around the streets of nyc, letting the city call towards different spots it wants me to see, a perfect quality for walking lovely dogs! I have three family dogs, one older American Eskimo, and two Border Collies under the age of two, meaning I am still pretty equip and up to date with handling puppies. My baby sister turns 12 in May and is a type 1 diabetic! Through this experience, I want to help find her the perfect diabetic dog to aid in her growth! I used to have a senior dog who passed away from cancer (bless his soul) but in his final stages, we crafted such a lovely last year of his life through love, support and comfort. This meant, taking medications, being fragile and cautious, but above all, find the love in his heart. I can't wait to meet, play and love your furry friends :) I have a very relaxed schedule, so I am easily accommodating and eager to help out! This is a full time job for me, as I have had over 193 clients over the past 6 years! I have a fenced yard and 3 other dogs inside of my own family home! If they want friendship, we can have playtime. If not, I can crate my own if needed for the safety of everyone involved!
About: I have been a pet sitter since two years ago. I sat and walked my friend’s dog who lives in Chicago for the past two years. I’m currently working part time, so I have the time to take care of any animal as long the animals doesn’t bite me. I would feed them as needed and walk them 3 times a day. I don’t have a dog at the moment, but my cat is taken well care of and given plenty of love.
About: Hi there! My name is Payton, and if your pet could pick their own sitter, I’d like to think we’d be best friends. 😊 I’m a certified canine trainer with experience ranging from basic obedience all the way to working dogs trained in tracking, scent detection, and behavior modification. I’ve worked with puppies, seniors, high-energy dogs, shy dogs, and even the occasional spicy dog that isn’t everyone’s cup of tea. I also have a background in veterinary medicine, so I’m comfortable administering medications, monitoring pets recovering from procedures, and keeping a close eye on any special needs your pet may have. When your pet is in my care, they’re treated like family. I know how hard it can be to leave your pets behind, so I make it a point to send plenty of photos, updates, and little messages so you know exactly how they’re doing while you’re away. Whether your dog wants to play fetch, your cat wants someone to respect their personal space, or your pet just needs a reliable friend while you’re gone, I’d love to help. I look forward to meeting you and your furry family members! A little about my schedule: I work at a pediatric dental clinic during the week, but I have a long lunch break that allows me to return home and let pets out, provide potty breaks, playtime, cuddles, check-ins, and feedings throughout the day. Thursdays and Fridays are shorter workdays for me, and I’m off on weekends and most holidays. Creating a safe and comfortable environment is my top priority, whether your pet is in my home or I’m caring for them in yours. In my home, I use secure kennels to provide pets with a cozy, structured space, especially during rest periods or overnight stays. For transport, I have two large, crash-tested Ruffland kennels in my vehicle to ensure every ride is as safe as possible. When caring for pets in their own home, I take every effort to follow your instructions to the letter. I believe consistency is key, so I maintain your pet’s routine, from feeding times and walks to their favorite toys or sleeping spots. Your pet’s comfort, safety, and happiness always come first.
“Jennifer is the best!!!! My cats were treated so well that I didn't see any difference in their behavior after our extended departure. They were relaxed when we arrived and I could see right away that they really liked the care Jennifer gave them. Jennifer was very helpful and available. She helped us out when our trip out of the country was extended by 2 weeks. I had peace of mind knowing my cats were in good hands. Everything was clean when I arrived and my cats had missed us, but I could see that they were relaxed and well fed. seraphin, my most shy cat, was super comfortable with her, and that's a great proof of the quality of the bond Jennifer knows how to build with animals. Thank you :-)”

I also used to help my godmother with her pet sitting/walking business and through this learned the ins and outs of pet sitting and what different owners require! I currently work a part time job where I am given the schedule for the next week the week before, but I have 14 days to schedule off of work. So, my schedule is open as long as I am given well enough notice to be able to call off of work! My experience with my personal animals is that I feed, wash, and provide my pets with the care they need. My personal animals are in a fenced yard, but I frequently walk them around my neighborhood. “A++ Thank you Andria for doing such a great job caring for Daisy Duke! What can I say, you are a kind spirit and it shows in your love of animals. I especially appreciated your prior willingness to come and visit with us to allow Daisy to see you as a friend and recognize you when you cared for her in my absence. Couldn’t be more pleased with how well it worked out, I know she was well taken care of and the pics you sent me to keep me posted really put my mind at ease. A very big thanks!!!! “Kim was INCREDIBLE! I have a ragdoll kitty who is very needy! I work from home and had NEVER left him alone overnight. Our first trip away was EIGHT nights!! I was so stressed to leave him and had no idea what to expect! I had Kim come over in the morning and the evening - when he follows us around like a puppy dog! She loved on him, played with him, gave him treats and even brushed him daily!!! He got all the love he needed and after a couple visits by Kim I felt 100% at ease and no stress at all! I will be hiring her every single time from this point on! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!”

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
