“Abbi, was thorough and followed every instruction I asked her to do with my senior special needs pup. She was also extremely flexible, which we needed unexpectedly. She provided me an update and I knew my boy was being taken care of. With him being special needs I need someone to be attentive to every detail of his care, she was and she put my mind further at ease when she followed up with me without asking. We will use Abbi again.”

About: Any day any time I’m here to help you with your pets needs. Several local referrals and references to provide you and your loved ones. I provide pet services everyday. All hours of the day including overnights. No need to worry just contact me. I have and breed dogs as well. Animals are always my first priority. They are treated as my own. My children play an active roll in helping with care of our furry friends.
About: In addition to having family pets since before I could walk, I started a neighborhood pet sitting business with my sister when I was 10, I worked for a pet sitting/dog walking company out of college, and have cared for more friends and neighbors’ pets than I could count. I am experienced in giving oral medication and caring for more special needs pets. I work from home and can do longer morning and evening visits and short midday visits. Visits would have to fit around my meeting schedule so I won’t be able to accommodate a strict midday break schedule. I Will follow whatever specific guidance you provide for your pet to ensure that there is minimal disruption to their world while you are away.
“Imani took great care of my babies while I was away. She kept us updated and even managed to get my skittish cat to warm up to her! I highly recommend hiring her to care for your pets.”

About: I've raised dogs my whole life. Everything from cocker spaniels to a golden retriever. I recently upped the difficulty by training our puppy to be a service animal. Happy to play, cuddle, or just let them have a quiet place to settle. I have no problems taking care of your baby. While I'm newer to cats my partner has fostered kittens to elderly cats and is passing on their knowledge. I am currently full time at home so I have a very open schedule to help your fur baby with all those difficult times when you can't be with them. Your home and your fur baby will be treated with complete respect. I understand that I am being trusted with one of your most precious possessions.
“Michael did an excellent job with Turbo and Rocky. He took the time to build a relationship with the dogs before our trip and tended to them as if they were his pups. I would recommend him to anyone who really wants someone who will treat your pups with kindness and love.”

“Ashlei was great checking in on my cats everyday and stayed to play with them. Also great photographer and took some of the best pictures of my cats that I have now! Highly recommend”

About: Hello! My name is Victoria. I am 28 years old and currently an ICU nurse, with 5 years of previous emergency room experience with a deep love for animals. I bring a calm, attentive, and safety-focused approach to pet care—especially for dogs who need a little extra support. I’m comfortable administering medications (including injections), caring for senior dogs, and monitoring pets with medical or anxiety needs. If your dog has special routines or health concerns, you can trust they’ll be in capable hands. I know how important it is to feel at ease when leaving your pet, so I provide frequent updates, photos, and clear communication. My goal is for you to feel completely confident and your dog to feel completely at home. I have 3 dogs, Chester, Maverick, and Thor who have never met another pup they didnt like. My two older boys, Chester and Maverick, are content to lay around all day long if that is what your dog enjoys. However, I also have Thor, who is a year and a half and he loves to play with other dogs, but is also ready to settle down for a good nap at any time. Whether your pup needs a relaxing stay, structured care, or extra patience, I’d love to help! ✔ Medical experience (nurse background) ✔ Comfortable with medications & special needs ✔ Calm, reliable, detail-oriented care ✔ Great with puppies and senior dogs ✔ Frequent updates so you never have to worry I currently work 3 12 hour shifts a week so I have plenty of availability to take care of your pets. I make my own schedule as well, so I plenty of flexibility. I have a fenced in yard and three sweet boy pups to play with your babies! I also like to meet the pups ahead of time to ensure that everyone gets along well. However, we do have two extra bedrooms that can be a safe place if you’re a pup just needs a little time away from the boys.
“Christina was wonderful with our cat, Lynx. She asked all the right questions and paid close attention to our instructions. She sent us lots of sweet photos of our boy and was very communicative. We'll definitely be asking her to come back next time we are away!”

“Chelsea did a wonderful job! She was greeted with a puke mess on the carpet to clean up. So sorry about that! Sienna did well--as much as she does when I'm gone. I'm sure she enjoyed getting out for a walk.”

“Caitlyn was awesome in taking care of our elderly cat. She was dependable and took care of our cat as if it was her own. We highly recommend her and will be calling on her again.”

About: I’ve lived with dogs as long as I can remember and have had a significant part in their care for about 10 years. The last 4 years I’ve been the primary caregiver for my pets. Since I was a teenager I’ve been the designated pet and house sitter for friends and family! I currently work full time but work from home two days per week. My mornings before work and evenings after work are dedicated to the pups. If necessary I am able to take a long lunch for some extra pup time. I have a fully fenced in yard where my friendly pups love to play and a puppy proofed home. Pets are welcome anywhere people are allowed, including furniture. My 2 dachshunds are super outgoing with other dogs and can keep up with big dogs! In a client’s home I will take into account any of the house rules of the pet parents.
About: I am an animal fanatic! I love animals more than I love people! I love to walk, play and cuddle. I have owned dogs from puppy to adult. Pet care is a big part of my everyday life! I work three days a week, which means I have plenty of free time to give your pets the attention they deserve. I’m off on weekends and have two additional days off during the week (those days vary), so my schedule is pretty flexible. On my days off, I love spending time walking dogs, checking in on pets, and making sure they’re happy, loved, and well cared for. Even on my workdays, I’m available for morning, evening, or quick mid-day visits depending on your needs. Caring for animals is something I truly enjoy, so I always make time for it in my routine! 🐶🐱💛 About Me 🐾 Hi there! My name’s Audrey, and I’m a lifelong animal lover who truly believes pets make the world a better place (honestly, I like animals more than humans!). I’ve been caring for dogs and cats since I was a teenager, and I currently share my home with four amazing dogs and three sweet cats that I love dearly. I offer dog walking and drop-in visits for dogs and cats — making sure your furry family members get all the love, attention, and care they deserve while you’re away. Whether your pet needs a quick potty break, a fun walk to burn some energy, or just some company and cuddles, I’m here to help! I also have plenty of experience giving medications to both dogs and cats, including pills, topical treatments, and even more specific care needs. You can rest easy knowing your pet is in gentle, capable hands. I treat every pet I care for as if they were my own — with love, patience, and respect. I’ll also keep you updated with messages and photos during each visit so you can see how your pet is doing and feel connected while you’re away. Animals have always been a huge part of my life, and I take pride in providing dependable, compassionate care that helps both you and your pets feel comfortable and happy. I can’t wait to meet your furry friend and make them feel right at home! 🐶🐱💕
“Jazmine did a wonderful job taking care of my dog Kodi yesterday. She was punctual and she made sure he had his bathroom breaks, food, and treats. Also, she sent plenty of pictures. I would definitely use her services again. Thanks Jazmine for a job well done!”

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Mountcastle. On Rover:

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
