I’ve had pets of my own since I was 8 years old, including dogs/cats, small animals, and lizards which taught me the importance of patience, routine, and compassion. I’ve also regularly helped friends and family with their pets, providing everything from daily walks and feedings to overnight care. These experiences have helped me build a strong understanding of different pet personalities and needs. I treat every pet like they’re part of my own family—with love, attention, and respect. I’m currently a full time nursing student but I still have time to care for your loving pets. Whether that be in between classes or evenings I am fully devoted to making sure each pet gets the attention and consistency they deserve. I like to maintain their usual routine as closely as possible and any special instructions from their owner. I provide a clean, pet friendly environment where they can lead and I always supervise interactions if other animals are around. There is also a field where I stay, where the dogs can run around freely on.

About: I have had animals my whole life, and have worked in the pet industry for 6 years. My day job experience has been managing 2 different local pet food stores, where I’ve learned a lot about the needs of dogs and cats, and their body language. My old job had foster cats, so I have experience taking care of up to 10 cats at a time (feeding, litter cleaning, meds, and playtime). I also have pet sat for many of my friends and family members. I love walking! I enjoy taking my own dog on short walks or really long walks to get his energy out. I’ve owned 2 disabled dogs that required diaper changes, meds, and regular bathing and cleaning up after them. Please note that my rates are a starting rate, and if you are more than 6 miles from me, I may charge a travel fee to compensate for gas and wear and tear on my vehicle. I am currently going to school full time at UNM. My schedule is pretty flexible though, and I am willing to work with you! I can come before, in between, or after class and on weekends! I will always want to come meet you and your pet before I start the service. I will take notes on everything so I can keep your pet on their routine, no matter how specific. I want to make you and your pet 100% comfortable! I am experienced with reading body language with pets, so I can tell if your pet is too overwhelmed or nervous. I also love sending updates, including photos and videos, to let you know how your fur baby is doing!

About: I grew up in a house full of animals. As long as I can remember, my family has lived with dogs, cats, guinea pigs, chickens, lizards, frogs, snails, salamanders and all manner of wild backyard critters as well to attend. I was raised to respect these animals as well as attend to their needs. I believe love and respect go hand-in-hand, and I love creatures of all shapes and sizes! Since I was old enough to babysit, I was also pet-sitting! I believe that animals are not only our friends and our kindred spirits, but also our duty to care for well. I spent time working as a pet nutritional expert at a store in Austin, TX, and that experience only increased my passion for animals and their well-being. I love to travel, and know that it makes all the difference to leave someone you trust with your critters. My headline includes my vision statement; I endeavor to become a friend to your pet, and while you're away, provide my full presence, my dedicated care, and my joy at being with them. I'm a graduate student at UNM, so my class schedule is mostly afternoons right now. My cat's a rather needy fellow, so he's happiest when I'm home. I make sure to make time to spend with him on weekends, mornings, and evenings, and spend time making up for missed cuddles then. I keep his areas very clean, he drinks only from a fountain, and I keep him to a strict feeding schedule (much to his chagrin and occasional break-in attempts of the food container). My frogs, Gus and Markl, need live food once a week and clean water every day, and I maintain a heat lamp schedule for them as well, as well as regular maintenance to their bioactive terrarium. When my parents are out of town, I take care of our two dogs, Lilo and Clara, and nine chickens. The dogs need to be walked, the chickens need to be fed and their eggbox cleaned, and there's lots to do to make sure everyone is comfortable. Lilo's pretty anxious, and Clara's getting up in years, so I make time in my work schedule to return home midday to check on them if I'm out and about. Depending on your pet's needs, I'm flexible in terms of schedule. :) It's important to me that you are confident in your pets' safety and comfort. I will not take dogs outside without a leash, unless they are in a fenced-in yard, and I don't let cats outside unleashed on principle as I believe this makes them a danger to themselves, other cats, and smaller animals. You can expect photos from me of your pets if you'd like them, and if they let me I'll happily clean out eye-boogers, snuggle with them, and ensure that they have love and companionship during the stressful time you're away.

“Wow! I’m super please and grateful for Dante! Life has been so busy with the birth of our new baby that we haven’t had much time to give one on one attention to our fur baby, Mia. Dante treated her so sweet, like she wa done of his own. She is 13 years old and he used our stroller to take her on her fav thing to do… walks around the neighborhood. About: I have raised dogs, cats and a variety of other animals my whole life. From fostering, to baby sitting to raising pets of my own, I have always loved animals and caring for them. I currently have 3 dogs (ages 3,3 and 5) and 2 cats, one being a senior (ages 10, and 2). I’ve adopted all of my animals from shelters or friends, adopted them at a variety of ages and one of my dogs is disabled (born with only one eye). I am proud to say that I have done my absolute best to give them the proper care and love and attention they deserve, and I think they have been all very happy and well cared for! I am a before and after school instructor, as well as a university student, so I am free in most afternoons. I can do early morning and afternoons before 3pm. I have a large fenced yard that my dogs play in every day. I feed them every morning and afternoon, visit them daily and have them sleep inside every night. My family is very loving towards our animals, and I have never had issues with my pets showing signs of stress or unhappiness. I treat them with the love and kindness I treat everyone, and have raised both from adoption, two since they were a puppy (they are now 3) and one since he was about 1 year old (he is now 5).
