Amazing experience with Tiffany! She literally saved our week. At the last minute our regular dog sitter was unable to come, so I reached out to Tiffany (based on her previous great reviews). I think she heard the panic in my voice and reassured me that she could help out! She stopped in later that evening for a meet and greet. Totally put my mind at ease. Her visit included mother’s day and she rearranged her time with her family to be able to accomodate us! House looked great when we came home and Lucy very happy. Would highly recommend Tiffany!🐾

Debra was great- communicated frequently while she took care of our fur babies. Sent pictures and left the house cleaner then when we left! I’ve already asked her to help us out again in the future. Highly recommend.

Brittany is a gem and we are so grateful we found her. She treats your pets like her own. Dependable, trustworthy and just a nice human. We are so happy we have a sitter for our “not so easy to handle” dog. He loves her and so do we!

I have a rescue dog that can be unpredictable and she is also somewhat fearful of strangers, but she liked Emily right away and I was able to travel without any worry about my dog being happy and cared for at home! It was a real blessing to find Emily and I will definitely call her the next time I have to travel! I can highly recommend her as a responsible and caring dog sitter!

About: I’ve been a dog owner my entire life and have had experience owning other pets such as geckos, cats, and snakes. I’ve been a pet sitter for a little over two years. My true passion for pet sitting comes from my desire to be accompanied by them, dogs specifically. I work with dogs of all ages, temperaments, and personalities. Dogs of all backgrounds tend to gravitate towards me and I have never had any negative interactions. While studying for my undergrad, I was actually in charge of all the live animal specimens present on the University grounds. Feeding, exercise, and handling/care were done daily, which can explain my comfortability and familiarity with pet care. I currently am home as I finish my masters degree online so my daily schedule is fairly free. I workout and do part-time contract work when I am not doing schoolwork. I’m extremely flexible and will be willing to meet your needs as best as possible. Simply put, I treat the pets like they are my own. I ensure they are met with sufficient attention, exercise, nutrition, and safety while under my supervision. Minimizing stress is my biggest concern (my dog has separation anxiety so I know how it can be). I’ve found it helpful in the past to use my own dog as a bridge between myself and the client’s pet, as his presence tends to build confidence and reassurance.

Annalize is a great provider who demonstrates compassionate care for animals. We left three dogs, two cats, two chinchillas in her care for the weekend. One of the dogs is very elderly and needs a lot of hands on care. Annalize brought it, and kept everyone cool, comfy, fed, and happy. I would recommend her highly.

About: I received my Bachelor's Degree in Animal Studies from Wilson College. I was a Kennel Technician at a boarding facility as well as a doggy daycare for a few years. I am currently a Veterinary Assistant at an Animal Clinic. I enjoy taking care of animals and providing the best care. I work full time during the week, but I am available weekends and can provide pet care during the evenings after work depending on location. Depending on the needs of the animal, I will provide the proper care as per the owners request. I like to know specific details to make everyone feel comfortable.

About: I’ve taken care of animals of all kinds since I was a child - dogs (large and small), cats, horses, turtles, rabbits, even chickens! I have experience in puppy training and care, adult dog and cat care, dog walking, pet-sitting, farm-sitting, and house-sitting. I truly enjoy taking care of animals and will do my best to ensure their utmost safety and happiness while in my care. I’m a college student with quite a bit of availability during my long winter and summer breaks. I am fully available any time of the day or week from Dec 20 - Jan 19 and after May 9 of the current year. Outside of my college breaks, I will have more limited time for pet care, but will still be available most weekends and some of the time on weekdays. After January 19, 2026, I will be unavailable from 8am-12:30pm on Mondays Wednesdays and Fridays, unavailable Tuesdays from 7:30-11:00am, and unavailable Fridays from 12:30-6:30pm due to my class schedule. I currently care for my family’s own pets, including two friendly dogs, three cats, and three horses. I live at a home with a large yard in a quiet neighborhood. The yard is unfenced as our family dogs stay within the perimeter of our home. For this reason I will leash or clip client dogs to a long line when taking them outside for their own safety, unless the owner is confident in their recall abilities and/or specifically grants them permission to be off leash while supervised. Pets will always have access to clean drinking water, and I have a few dog crates available to use upon request for dogs who may benefit from one (for up to medium-large size). Our two family dogs (a labradoodle and a sheltie) are very friendly, healthy, up to date on all vaccines, and would love to play with your fur babies if they are friendly and healthy in turn. If boarding your dog at my house, I have limited ability to separate client pets from our two dogs, so if you would prefer your dog to not interact with others, I would suggest choosing a pet-sitting service where I come to the pet, rather than the boarding service where the pet comes to me. I encourage owners to send me a detailed list of any specific instructions you may have regarding your fur baby’s care.

Aurora was amazing! Guinness loved her from the moment they met & he slept like a baby the next day when we got home. She kept him entertained and sent us pics of their playtime. She left the house better than when we left, even put our dishes away I had left in the dishwasher! Highly recommend, she definitely is a dog whisperer, Guinness is hooked!

Casey has cared for our dogs throughout the years and by far is the best dog sitter we have ever had. She is the only sitter we have ever had that truly does what you hire her for. She stayed at our home with our boys. She sent adorable, funny pictures to keep us updated and we came home to a clean house and happy dog. Thank you Casey for always taking wonderful care of our pups.

FAQs for House Sitting - Mount Zion

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for House Sitting in Mount Zion on Rover is $61.05 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of July 2026, there are 663 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Mount Zion. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Mount Zion walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Mount Zion maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Mount Zion choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Mount Zion. On Rover:

  • 94% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 96% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 98% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
