“We have had a lot of pet sitters over the years, and Anthony is the best we have ever had. He was attentive to our dogs' every need and gave us regular reports, sent pictures, and took our old hound to the vet, gave him medication, and then went back to the vet to get medicine for our other dog. The house looked great when we got home. He even washed the bedding he slept on”

“Anna was AMAZING! First time we’ve met her or worked with her, but we would now HIGHLY recommend her! She is a great communicator. She took our 1.5 year old pup on many adventures (walks around pond, in the woods, etc.)—even more than we usually can! She pilled and cared for our elderly cat like a pro. Both our boys were happy and healthy after her 8 days with them. But the cherry on top was how clean and tidy and well cared for she left our home! Floors vacuumed, sink scrubbed, towels and sheets (and even bathmats) washed/changed. We look forward to having Anna housesit for us again!!!”

“Lillian obviously made our kittens feel they were well-taken care of despite our absence. The photos of Atticus and Arlo lounging in the sunshine in the kitchen she sent us was more than evidence. Also, Atticus and Arlo both welcomed us with open paws when we came home. akk”

“Sophie stayed with our Border Collie and 2 cats while we were gone and she was truly wonderful. She gave our pup good long walks and her calm presence even managed to coax our very skittish cat to come out of hiding. She sent lots of pictures and updates, which we really appreciated. We don't leave the animals often, so when we do, it's very comforting to know that they're in good hands. She also left the house in perfect shape. We highly recommend Sophie!”

“Christine is wonderfully attentive and responsive. My 10 year old doggie tends towards anxiety and she is really good at reading his cues and responding as needed. She has a lot of experience with dogs and it shows. I feel safe leaving my pup in her care.”

“Kayleigh was fantastic! A clear communicator, loving to Charlie, and sent great photos. We cant wait for her to housesit again. We feel lucky we found her! She left the house better than she found it.”

About: I've owned and taken care of dogs my entire life. I'm proud to be one of the first people friends and family call when a petsitter is needed. I love walking, and I love dogs. This seems like the perfect opportunity to exercise and get my animal fix! I'm currently working full-time Monday through Friday. I can do evening walks after 5:00 PM (as weather allows) and I can do weekends between 9:00 AM - 6 PM. My current apartment doesn't allow pets, but I can housesit on weekends or in the evenings if the location is somewhat close to my work in Waterbury. I'm a long-time vegetarian, and have always had an extra sensitive heart when it comes to animals. I think that earning an animal's trust is such a privilege and gift, and I honor that. I cannot house pets in my current apartment, but I will follow the guidance and knowledge of the owners in their homes and while on walks.
“We were so happy with Steph when she took care of our fur babies. She made sure they got lost of cuddles and care, especially for my dog who has quite a bit of anxiety. We highly recommend her and will use her again if we go out of town.”

“Alison did a great job with our two cats while we were away for a week. Very professional, understanding of feline behavior, and took the time to know them. We've asked her to come back & stay with Boo & Tyson when we do a short trip in September. I would recommend Alison to any pet parent.”

About: I have been working with animals for the last ten years. Started working in dog daycares and moved my way up to vet medicine where i now am a vet technician. I am patient and understanding to all pets personalities and ages. I am currently working 3 days a week on a specialty service at a veterinary hospital. My weekends are typically free and I would love to fill the time with your furry loved ones. Will be very respectful of your home and make giving your sweet boy or girl my devoted attention. Back yard fence in play is great but leash walks are also great!
About: My pet sitting experience began 15 years ago when I was the neighborhood go-to for walking and feeding pets. That transitioned to in-home care experience in my neighborhood and beyond. My most valuable experiences comes from my own family dog. She had many quirks from being rescued, and from her I have ample of first hand experience on how to handle dogs that do not get along with other people or dogs. I am currently available 7 days a week, and am available from early morning to late night. I am currently between jobs and am flexible on care time and needs. I find joy in meeting your dog's needs- whether they have energy to burn or need cuddles on the couch, I aim to provide a caring and respectful presence for your dog. If staying in a client's home, I treat their space with respect and cleanliness.
“Giuli was an absolute pleasure to work with and gave my dogs (including a 5 month old puppy) such loving care. Clear quick and easy communication. We didn’t worry for a moment about the house or dogs and were able to be fully present with my family on vacation.”

About: I've been around animals for as long as I can remember. Growing up, I was the neighborhood go-to for pet care — friends, family, and neighbors have trusted me with their pets for years, from playful puppies to older animals who need a little extra patience and care. That kind of experience teaches you to read an animal's body language, adjust to their individual routines, and know when something's off. Whether it's a high-energy dog who needs a good long walk or a senior pet who just wants company and a familiar routine, I treat every animal like they're my own. I work part time, which gives me a flexible schedule during the week. That means I can easily build pet care into my routine — whether it's a midday visit, a walk between work hours, or being available for longer stretches on my days off. Your pet won't be an afterthought squeezed into a busy day; caring for them fits naturally into how I already structure my time. When I visit your home, your pet's safety and comfort are my top priority. I follow your instructions closely — feeding schedules, medications, playtime routines, and any specific rules you have for your home. I make sure doors and gates are secure, food and water are fresh, and your pet gets the attention and exercise they need during our visit. I treat your home with the same respect and care I'd want for my own, and I always make sure everything is locked up and in order before I leave.

I believe in providing updates with photos so you can have peace of mind knowing your pet is in good hands. I'm currently working 30 hours per week, in short shifts, i'm also a part time student. I have reliable days off and live building routine. I can easily crate and administer medication if needed, i'm able to walk and handle all dogs of varying breeds and behaviors. I love animals so any interaction is a treat!
“My babies are everything to me. We hardly travel without them because we haven’t found anyone yet who can or is willing to care for them in a way that I’m content with. Enter Laura. Laura proves her trustworthiness by her excellent care and communication before booking. She is very competent regarding what I feel to be more complex pup situations. Added bonus, she is active and is able to give my high energy pups a good amount of exercise. My partner and I were able to have a fantastic time away without any worries. I am thrilled with Laura, and hope she is interested in working with us again!”

“Kelly is who you want to sit your pets and your house. She's so nice, so patient with all my communication, so responsive and responsible... It's obvious she loves animals, she immediately connected with my cat and my puppy, and they with her. And let me tell you, my puppy is not an easy dog to take care of right now. She's 16 weeks old and in full crazy teething, biting, nipping mode. It's definitely a challenge to be with this land shark. But Kelly handled her with grace. She also left our house spotless. I will definitely ask her to watch my babies again!”

“Lisa and her partner were available last minute to stay at our home with our dog for a couple days. Our dog was immediately at ease with them and we enjoyed getting picture updates of happy snuggles, playtime, and walks. Great with communication and great with our pup - she was well cared for and relaxed and happy when we got home. All around a good experience!”

Frequently asked questions about Rover
As of August 2026, there are 396 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Moretown. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Moretown walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Moretown maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Moretown choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Moretown. On Rover:
- 95% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 95% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 95% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
