“Jillian is a stellar pet sitter. She was incredibly reliable, communicative and caring with our two dogs. We have one very mischievous three year old dog who wants to escape our yard and go on adventures and a 17 year old senior who needs special attention. Jillian cared for both of them with confidence and when we returned they were both in good spirits, had obviously received a lot of walks and love and our home was perfectly clean. We will definitely be using Jillian’s services again.”

“Karlyn was a blessing for us as a a dog sitter. From the initial meet & greet to our return home, Karlyn mde us feel at ease with her staying with our dog Bella. She responded quickly to questions, was very responsible with the care she provided both to Bella and to our home. She is reliable with her committments, and she sent several pictures as well so that we could see that Bella was enjoying her special time as well. We absolutely recommend her and will call her for services again in the future.”
“I can definitely say that after being gone for eight days I was very appreciative for what I came back to. I've had my challenges with the dogs so for someone to come in a take over for a week seemed a little daunting however Yolanda came through with 5 stars... I have no doubt the dogs were well taken care of as all instructions left were meticulously followed and the dogs were definitely well cared for not to mention the house was cleaner then I left it. There's nothing better then coming back from a vacation with well taken care of dogs. Would definitely recommend for worry free dog sitting”

I truly love animals and understand that each pet has their own personality, energy level, and comfort needs. Whether your pet enjoys active walks, calm companionship, or extra patience and care, I strive to make them feel safe, happy, and well cared for while you are away. I love being present for my pet friends and giving them lots of attention, exercise, fresh water and yummy food. Inside our home for night time sleep overs, we keep the couches covered and welcome all the pets into our lives with our cozy fireplace and 2,000 sq ft home.
“Anne-Christina was reliable and responsive to me and took good care of my home and cat. She was very attentive to our cat. We were aware going in that she had a conflict one day during our absence and she was helpful getting someone equally reliable to cover. I would definitely use her again.”

“Secret was great with my animals! My dog is shy when meeting new people, but she went straight up to Secret to be petted so I could tell right away that she has a good affinity with animals. My shy cat even took to her while she was staying here! She left the house spotless. She also sent regular text updates about how the animals were doing. I definitely recommend her!”

“Simone had great communication and was amazingly flexible with our timing needs - during a holiday weekend on top of that! Having peace of mind while away was much appreciated. She was respectful and easy going. Would definitely have her back to watch my mischievous pittie anytime!”

“Mikayla has been outstanding with our two GSD’s! She is very in tune to their separate personalities and is very patient with our baby King, who is shy with new people in his space. I appreciate her patience and advanced knowledge of this breed. We feel at ease and comfortable leaving the boys in her care at our home when we are away.”
“Ashley was very caring with my two little ones. She gave me periodic reports and I felt comfortable with the care she gave them. She knew about meds and handled giving them. This was important since my two are older dogs.”

“Sienna is awesome! We left our 3 dogs with her for a week. Our dogs love her! She followed all the instructions for the dogs perfectly. Our house was left just like we left it too. If you need an over-night pet sitter Sienna is the perfect girl.”

About: Animals have been part of my life since I was an early adult, and caring and connecting with them comes naturally. As a wellness coach, husband and father of two, I’m big on structure, patience, and creating a calm, safe inviting environment for every dog I work with. I’m active outdoors, hiking, walking trails, and exploring around in the neighborhood, so your dog will get plenty of movement and attention. I will always adapt movement and attention needs to your liking. I’ve handled everything from high-energy pups to gentle senior dogs, and I’m confident with feeding routines, medication reminders, crate-training basics, and helping anxious dogs feel secure. I treat every pet like my own and keep owners updated with photos, check-ins, and clear communication so you always know your dog is in good hands. Whether your dog needs long walks, overnight care, or a dependable companion while you’re away, I bring consistency, kindness, and professional-level responsibility to every stay. Pet care fits naturally into my routine because I work from home and set my own schedule. I’m already outdoors often, walking, working on the yard, biking, or taking my own dog out around the neighborhood or on the trails, so adding your pup into my day is a seamless fit. I’m available for boarding service either at my home or yours for 2-4 days during the week and weekend boarding requests as well. Your dog will always get consistent attention, movement, and care, never rushed or squeezed into a busy schedule. I provide a calm, structured environment that helps dogs feel comfortable the moment they arrive. My home in Fair Oaks has a large, fenced yard with plenty of safe space to explore. Outdoor time is always supervised, gates stay secured, and I keep clear routines for feeding, play, and rest so dogs settle in smoothly. We have two friendly dogs of our own, a Papillon and a Min Pin/Jack Russell mix, who enjoy having new companions around. They’re social, well-behaved, and help create an easygoing atmosphere for visiting pups. If a dog prefers their own space, I can separate areas to make sure everyone feels relaxed. For boarding in my home, I do require that dogs are potty trained. If you’re still working on potty training, I’m more than happy to support that process in your home. I’m also comfortable with crate routines, senior care, medication reminders, and maintaining whatever structure your dog is used to. As a father and longtime pet owner, safety and communication are top priorities, I send photo updates and check-ins so you always feel connected while you’re away.
“When we found ourselves in a pinch with our previous pet sitter canceling 3 days before a multi-week vacation abroad, Lauren saved us. Not only did she offer to stay, she came by to meet us and our dog to sense if it would be a good fit for all involved. She was a great vibrational fit for us and we sensed immediately what a good person she was. During the say, she communicated well with us about our home and our dog. When we arrived home, we found our dog well and balanced, a clean and orderly house and plants thriving. We can't say enough how lucky you would be to have someone as responsible and compassionate as Lauren care for your animal and home. We'd ask her back in a heartbeat.”

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Moores Flat walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Moores Flat maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
<b>Tip:</b> Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Moores Flat choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first Meet & Greet .
sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy , which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.
Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means you will get a full refund and our support team will work with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
