Karissa was terrific! She met with us the night before her shift and our dog took to her immediately. The next day she showed up on time and gave him a nice long walk. We really appreciated knowing that he was well taken care of while we were away sight seeing. We highly, highly recommend Karissa.

About: I love animals of all shapes and sizes! My husband, daughter and I have the sweetest senior dog (Bell), two cats (Elsie and Kitt), and a lively flock of chickens (all named by my 4 yo). Growing up my family had cats, dogs, hamsters, bunnies, and fish, and we were always around horses. So caring for animals is second nature to me! My daughter has grown up the same way—gentle, respectful, and just as smitten with animals as I am, probably even more so! I like to think I’m good at reading animals too—figuring out how they like to be greeted, what helps them feel safe, and how they like to have fun. My goal is to make your pets feel as comfortable, cared for, and loved as they do with you! I’m a stay-at-home mom, so I’m home most of the day and only ever out for short errands—usually no more than a couple of hours. My husband also works from home, so there’s almost always someone here. That means your pets get plenty of attention, companionship, and care! Whether I’m caring for pets in my home or yours, I follow your directions closely so their routine stays just the way you like it. In my home, I provide a calm, safe space where pets can settle in and feel comfortable. In your home, I make sure everything is done exactly as you’ve outlined, from feeding and walks to playtime and quiet time. My goal is always the same—happy, secure pets who feel cared for just like they do when you’re there.

About: 🐕Dachshund Specialist with a Lifetime of Love to Give 🐈‍⬛ Hi, I’m Marie, and caring for animals—especially dachshunds—has been a central part of my life for many years. I service the following areas: Montrose, Delta, Cedaredge, Hotchkiss, Paonia, G.J, Ridgway, Ouray, Placerville and Telluride. I’m a dachshund specialist and longtime admirer of both mini and standard dachshunds. My sweet long-haired mini, Luna, joined me as a puppy and was my constant companion for 12 wonderful years. She truly lived her best life—going everywhere with me, acting as my shadow, and showing me how deep and meaningful the human-dog bond can be. I lost her two years ago, but my love for dachshunds hasn’t faded. I still have a lot of dachshund love to give. Alongside Luna, I also shared my life with Mohawk, my Dutch Shepherd (and Luna’s “brother”), whom I cared for into his senior years—over 15 years old. Through them, I gained extensive experience with both small and large breeds, puppies, seniors, and dogs with very different personalities and activity needs. I currently don’t have pets of my own, which allows me to give your animals my full attention, care, and affection. While dachshunds are my specialty and soft spot, I’m happy to care for dogs of all breeds and sizes, and I also offer cat sitting at kitties' home. This makes me a great fit for dog and cat sitting, where you want everything cared for reliably while you’re away. What I offer: • In-home care or house sitting • Dachshund-savvy handling and care •. Experience with mini dachshunds, puppies, and seniors • Cat sitting welcome •. Hiking and outdoor walks—I’d love to bring your dog along if they enjoy adventure, let me know. I can walk them in your neighborhood or my usual haunts. I do regular walks at the Black Canyon, Mesa Trail and Cimmaron Summit. • References available (outside of Rover, primarily from coworkers whose pets I’ve cared for) I treat every animal as if they were my own—with patience, attentiveness, and genuine affection. Whether your companion wants long walks, quiet companionship, or simply someone consistent and calm to care for them, I’ll meet them exactly where they are. I’d love to care for your pets and give you peace of mind while you’re away. I am in my off season so pet care fits naturally into my daily routine. I plan my schedule around feeding times, walks, play, medication needs, and check-ins, ensuring consistent, reliable care and plenty of attention. I prioritize safety, trust, and routine by carefully following owner instructions, maintaining clean environments, securing doors and gates, monitoring behavior, and providing calm, attentive care in your home. However, if I get to know you, there is a chance for me to board in my home.

About: We're a a couple in our 40s, both working professionals in Montrose. We have five year old daughter and a nine year old chocolate lab mix who are both friendly, energetic, curious and cuddly. We are looking to help out others in the area who need dog care, since we know how difficult it can be to find good reliable people to watch our pup. We live just south of town with four acres and direct access to public land, perfect for dogs to run around and play in. We also are very active and love taking our pup out for hikes, walks, cross country skiing, fetch, swims, and playtime, and would be happy to bring yours along as well. We hope to meet you and your pup soon! While we both work full-time, we do have flexibility for telework, and breaks throughout the day to take your dog out. We are home full time evenings and weekends. We have a friendly dog who is very social to run and play with your dog. We are comfortable walking dogs on or off leash depending on what your dog is comfortable with.

Jennifer has been a life saver! Her love of animals is matched by her understanding of what they need. My German Shepherd can be a bit intimidating to people who don’t know her. Jennifer’s familiarity with big dogs made the transition easy for both me and my dog. My work hours changed and I was no longer able to take my dog out on hikes during the week. Jennifer has taken my dog out on a few hikes and my dog is much happier (and tired) when I come home from work. I love seeing the photos of their adventures and I highly recommend Jennifer’s services!
