“Macy was great! With laylah having a new medication that had to be administered at not idea times, I was worried it would be difficult having a sitter that could make it work. Macy was able to with ease and helped me not be so worried about it. She was nice and professional and laylah warmed up to her as soon as she met her. Would recommend!”

After meeting Katie and her first visit we knew there was nothing to worry about and, she takes amazing photos from each visit! Definitely will be requesting Katie again? Thank you Katie!”

“Jessica was lovely with our cat! Everything went perfect, she was so attentive to the care that our baby needed in the drop in visits during 3 days! Smooth proccess and communication. We recommend her and for sure look for her again to visit our cat!”

About: I have taken care of dogs for the last 8 years! I love to take them on walks and my favorite thing is to teach them new tricks! I am working full time Monday through Friday but I get off at 3:30 everyday so I have more than enough time to take you pet of a late afternoon walk! I am unable to watch pets in my home as I live in an apartment and my dog is a rescue who has some trouble getting along with other pets than my own
About: I have cared for animals of all kinds, dogs, cats, horses, cows, you name it, since I was little on my grandparent’s farm. I can get along with them all, from high energy to couch nappers. Going on walks or runs is something I do often with my pit mix, so I welcome that as well! I am currently a senior at Troy and interning at a school. I am free on weekdays after school hours and some weekends. On weekends I am not in Troy, I will be around the Dothan area. With an extensive pet care background, I am big on doing whatever your pet feels comfortable with. I know personalities can vary, so I try to accommodate how I interact with them based on that.

“Great communication. Coaxed my scardy cats out from their hiding places and took good care of them. Sent pictures at each visit and everything was kept clean and neat. We will plan to use Ariel again.”

About: I have owned a variety of pets throughout my life. I have also fostered 10 dogs of all ages and helped find them forever homes. This past year, I worked as an animal placement specialist at my local shelter and placed hundreds of dogs and cats into their forever homes. I have worked with a wide variety of dog breeds and I am knowledgeable with dog behavior. I also volunteered at a wildlife rehabilitation center. I am currently a full-time, pre-nursing student at Auburn. I am home for the summer and have a very open schedule. I work most days but am available morning and nights. I able to travel to your home to care for your pets there. I have experience with giving meds. I am able to provide care as close to their regular routine as possible.

About: I have been around dogs my entire life. My passion and love for dogs inspired me to start a dog rescue a few years ago. Since starting the rescue, I have gained experience with dogs of all different ages, breeds, and sizes. I have also learned to handle a variety of different behavior and health issues. I have experience with aggressive, fearful, and anxious dogs. I am confident in handling just about any type of dog. I can be available most days of the week. My schedule is flexible for the most part, so I will do my best to accommodate you. While caring for your pet, I will do my best to treat them as you would. I will give them plenty of love and attention, but also be sure to set the same boundaries for them as you do. For example, if you don't allow them on the couch then I will do the same. I will also send you plenty of updates on how they are doing while I am with them.
About: I’ve loved caring for animals for as long as I can remember and have been helping with pets since middle school. Growing up, I also gained hands-on experience working as a stable hand, which taught me the importance of responsibility, patience, and paying close attention to each animal’s needs. While living in the Birmingham area for college, I provided dependable pet care and house-sitting for families, including caring for both dogs and cats during longer stays. Now that I’m back home on the Eastern Shore, I’m excited to continue offering pet care locally and would love the opportunity to care for your pets, too! I have a calm, gentle presence and do my best to help pets feel safe, comfortable, and loved while their owners are away. I’m dependable, detail-oriented, and thoughtful about following each pet’s normal routine, preferences, and care instructions. I currently work a remote part-time job, which gives me a very flexible schedule. I’m available for drop-in visits, walks, and overnight stays, including extended house-sitting. Because of this flexibility, I’m able to give your pets consistent attention and make their care a priority. When caring for pets in a client’s home, I want both the pets and their owners to feel completely comfortable. I take time to learn each pet’s personality, routine, favorite activities, and any special needs so I can keep things as familiar and low-stress as possible. I also treat each home with respect by keeping things clean and tidy, following instructions carefully, and making sure everything is safely locked up before I leave. About: I’m a lifelong dog lover with years of hands on experience caring for dogs of all breeds, sizes, ages, and personalities. I also offer cat sitting services for any cat moms and dads. My home has always been filled with dogs, and I currently care for multiple of my own, so I understand the importance of providing consistent, loving, and reliable care. Over the years, I’ve fostered numerous dogs, helping them adjust, build confidence, and find their forever homes. That experience has taught me how to work with dogs who have different temperaments, energy levels, and specific needs. I’m also comfortable administering daily medications and following detailed care instructions to make sure every pet stays happy and healthy. Whether your dog enjoys long walks, playing fetch, exploring the neighborhood, or curling up for snuggles, I’ll tailor their care to match their routine. I know how important it is to leave your pet with someone you trust, so I’ll treat your furry family member like one of my own. You’ll also receive regular updates and plenty of photos, so you can enjoy your time away knowing your pet is safe, loved, and having fun. I can’t wait to meet you and your best friend! I am free most weekends and would love to add a Rover visit to my Friday afternoon, Saturday, or Sunday! I am available from early morning to around 8pm. I am comfortable leash walking, back yard play time, or even just relaxing. Your pet’s needs are catered to your requests and what your fur baby needs.

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.

If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Montrose. On Rover:

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
