“Katie is the best and cares for Lexie as her own. She sends the happiest updates and pictures and spends quality time with your furbaby whether it’s a drop in visit or house sitting. I always feel at ease when Katie is caring for Lexie.”

“Gabrielle has been taking care of our baby Ruby for over a year now. She is a treasure! She’s absolutely true to everything she states in her description as a caregiver. Not only is there a peace leaving your pet in her care, but she sends photos and videos of them that will make your day!”

“Jessica was lovely with our cat! Everything went perfect, she was so attentive to the care that our baby needed in the drop in visits during 3 days! Smooth proccess and communication. We recommend her and for sure look for her again to visit our cat!”

“Thank you for taking care of Penny during our time away! We appreciate you and all the pics you included in her report card! Although we missed her, it was wonderful knowing she was in good hands. And thanks for bringing in the package for safekeeping while we were away.”

“Tierney is reliable and does a great job taking care of our cat. We especially love the pictures she attaches to his Rover card. It's a peace of mind knowing she's looking out for him and we appreciate it so much!”

“We are very thankful to Michael for taking care of our not 1, not 2, but 5 pups!!! 3 of the 5 are complete wildlings but he patiently handled them with grace. He is very easy to work with in scheduling. Michael even showed up for a meet & greet and spent quite a while learning the most he could about our babies so he would be prepared to take care of them when needed. We look forward to building the relationship & being able to count on him to help us when we have plans that cause us to be away from them. Thank you Michael!!!”

About: I have taken care of dogs for the last 8 years! I love to take them on walks and my favorite thing is to teach them new tricks! I am working full time Monday through Friday but I get off at 3:30 everyday so I have more than enough time to take you pet of a late afternoon walk! I am unable to watch pets in my home as I live in an apartment and my dog is a rescue who has some trouble getting along with other pets than my own
“Allie is super caring and our fur babies love her. She took great care of them. She kept on schedule with the drop ins and communicated every day. Give her a call you won't be disappointed. Thank you Allie!”

“Dalton does an excellent job! I left home reassured that my pet (family member) would be just fine because he handles everything in such a confident and professional manner!”

“This was my first experience with Rover. I was so worried because my regular pet sitter couldn't watch my cat for over a week. Eleanor was the perfect sitter for my Gigi. Gigi is an outdoor cat and not very needy but she does need human contact every day. Eleanor came by twice a day and fed Gigi and checked her water and gave her some love and treats... she sent pictures every visit. It gave me so much piece of mind. Eleanor loves animals and it shows. Ill be booking her again soon!”

About: My experience with pet care started with taking care of my own dogs since I was 11. When I was 15 I was able to start taking care of family and friends pets while they were on vacation. Since then, i’ve worked as a kennel tech at a veterinary clinic, a dog bather at a grooming facility, and I’ve worked with a pet sitting company as a sitter/dog walker. I’m available any day of the week, I can do late night let outs, early morning walks, mid-day play dates, anything you need I can get it done. I can provide overnight boarding (must schedule at least 3 days in advance for more than 1 night). If you’re just needing me to come feed and let out I can do a small home task if needed, turn lights on/off, water plants, bring in mail, take out trash, light dusting etc. I can provide my services between the hours of 7am and 9pm (special request are always welcome). Please schedule at least 1 day prior to needing my services. If you’re in need of boarding more than 1 night please schedule at least 3 days prior. I have a dog park area in my neighborhood where a bunch of other pups play, it is an off leash park so please make sure to let me know if your pet is friendly with others or not. I have one cat, Luna, Luna is 1 year old and she’s super friendly! I do not have a crate so please provide your own if needed.
About: I’m a lifelong dog lover with years of hands on experience caring for dogs of all breeds, sizes, ages, and personalities. I also offer cat sitting services for any cat moms and dads. My home has always been filled with dogs, and I currently care for multiple of my own, so I understand the importance of providing consistent, loving, and reliable care. Over the years, I’ve fostered numerous dogs, helping them adjust, build confidence, and find their forever homes. That experience has taught me how to work with dogs who have different temperaments, energy levels, and specific needs. I’m also comfortable administering daily medications and following detailed care instructions to make sure every pet stays happy and healthy. Whether your dog enjoys long walks, playing fetch, exploring the neighborhood, or curling up for snuggles, I’ll tailor their care to match their routine. I know how important it is to leave your pet with someone you trust, so I’ll treat your furry family member like one of my own. You’ll also receive regular updates and plenty of photos, so you can enjoy your time away knowing your pet is safe, loved, and having fun. I can’t wait to meet you and your best friend! I am free most weekends and would love to add a Rover visit to my Friday afternoon, Saturday, or Sunday! I am available from early morning to around 8pm. I am comfortable leash walking, back yard play time, or even just relaxing. Your pet’s needs are catered to your requests and what your fur baby needs.

I just returned home from a 2 1/2 week trip. I took a chance on Almeda because there was just something about her profile I liked - in glad I did. I've never used a sitter service before and Almeda made the process easy and assured me she would take wonderful care of my fur babies and she did just just that. She communicated with me the entire time and she even went about and beyond when asked to do so such as bringing in my mail because I completely forgot about handling that before I left! I definitely look forward to using her in the future and would highly recommend her for taking care of your fur babies!

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Houstonville. On Rover:

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
