“This was my first experience with Rover. I was so worried because my regular pet sitter couldn't watch my cat for over a week. Eleanor was the perfect sitter for my Gigi. Gigi is an outdoor cat and not very needy but she does need human contact every day. Eleanor came by twice a day and fed Gigi and checked her water and gave her some love and treats... she sent pictures every visit. It gave me so much piece of mind. Eleanor loves animals and it shows. Ill be booking her again soon!”

“Ariel did a great job with our kitty -- took care of everything he needed and was diligent about her arrival timing. We appreciate this first visit and getting to know her and looking forward to more!”

“So attentive and loving with our pets! She sends sweet, detailed updates at every visit along with lots of pictures. We feel safe leaving our pets in her care. Highly recommend!”
“Katie is the best and cares for Lexie as her own. She sends the happiest updates and pictures and spends quality time with your furbaby whether it’s a drop in visit or house sitting. I always feel at ease when Katie is caring for Lexie.”

“Gabrielle has been taking care of our baby Ruby for over a year now. She is a treasure! She’s absolutely true to everything she states in her description as a caregiver. Not only is there a peace leaving your pet in her care, but she sends photos and videos of them that will make your day!”

“Jessica was lovely with our cat! Everything went perfect, she was so attentive to the care that our baby needed in the drop in visits during 3 days! Smooth proccess and communication. We recommend her and for sure look for her again to visit our cat!”

“Corey was a great catsitter! He was quick to respond to my texts and was very communicative. I enjoyed getting cute photos of Maya (my cat) from him every morning. He also followed my instructions well and made sure that Maya's automatic feeder was working correctly. I also appreciated how he found creative ways to put Maya's cat toy in so she can be entertained when he left for the day. I would re-book Corey again in the future if I needed to. Thanks, Corey!”

About: I have cared for animals of all kinds, dogs, cats, horses, cows, you name it, since I was little on my grandparent’s farm. I can get along with them all, from high energy to couch nappers. Going on walks or runs is something I do often with my pit mix, so I welcome that as well! I am currently a senior at Troy and interning at a school. I am free on weekdays after school hours and some weekends. On weekends I am not in Troy, I will be around the Dothan area. With an extensive pet care background, I am big on doing whatever your pet feels comfortable with. I know personalities can vary, so I try to accommodate how I interact with them based on that.
About: I’m a lifelong dog lover with years of hands on experience caring for dogs of all breeds, sizes, ages, and personalities. I also offer cat sitting services for any cat moms and dads. I just returned home from a 2 1/2 week trip. I took a chance on Almeda because there was just something about her profile I liked - in glad I did. I've never used a sitter service before and Almeda made the process easy and assured me she would take wonderful care of my fur babies and she did just just that. She communicated with me the entire time and she even went about and beyond when asked to do so such as bringing in my mail because I completely forgot about handling that before I left! I definitely look forward to using her in the future and would highly recommend her for taking care of your fur babies!

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Fairhope. On Rover:
- 92% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 100% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 100% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
