We were nervous to leave our anxious dog (this was his first time ever being away from us), but Sandy made both us and him feel right at home. She provided consistent updates over the 3 days and was very responsive via text. I would definitely use Sandy again and would highly recommend her to others.

Andrea is a beautiful, intelligent and compassionate professional. She cares about the animals she looks after while 'pet parents' are away. She reduces anxieties naturally by listening carefully and observing astutely. Hygge had never been away or 'boarded' for pet sitting prior to my experience with Andrea. At all times she was communicative, caring and purposeful in her interactions with Hygge, who probably worried about being in a new home away from home for a few days on many levels. My transportation plans were delayed due to a severe storm that prevented my scheduled pick up, and Andrea was patient, reasonable and loving during my own stress about being stuck in NYC beyond my control for the pick up of my dog after traveling for a few days. She worked with me every step of the way, and the boarding experience was a total success even with transportation issues. Hygge returned home happy, healthy, well-nourished and satisfied with renewed confidence in his ability to work with another lovely family in our sweet community in a spirit of trust and sucess. All in all, I would recommend Andrea to work with anyone who has pets they love and want to broaden the scope of their pet's world by allowing Andrea to work with them and care for them. Andrea also understands the complexities of rescue animals, and will work with you so all are informed and kept in safe environments that nourish everyone's positive potential. She is also very pleasant and loving. She is a talented professional and a local treasure to all who come in contact with her.

This was at least the 10th time we have used Cristina to sit for our middle-aged fur baby, Susie. When we arrived at Cristina’s, Susie ran up to her to greet her, so I know she feels comfortable. When I picked her up, Susie’s things were ready to go and she had obviously been well taken care of. Thank you, Cristina!

About: I have 15+ years of experience boarding and caring for dogs of all sizes, breeds, ages, and personalities, providing a safe and loving environment for dogs has been a part of my life for many years. My family has a long history of boarding and breeding hunting dogs through established bloodlines in Scotland, giving me experience with dogs and their individual personalities from an early age. I intentionally board no more than three guest dogs at a time. Keeping our guest list small allows me to provide personalized attention and gives each dog the opportunity to settle into our home and become part of the family during their stay. 🏡 A true home-away-from-home: I don't routinely use cages or kennels. Our guests are welcome to freely roam and enjoy the home just like our own resident dog, Benji does. If your dog is crate-trained and you prefer that their normal crate routine be maintained, we're happy to accommodate that as well. 🐾Room to explore: My home sits on two acres with a beautiful pond, and walking trails offering plenty of interesting sights and smells for supervised outdoor adventures and potty breaks. 🌳Right on the Heritage Trail: I am fortunate to be located directly along the Heritage Trail, making it easy to incorporate leashed walks, fresh air, exercise, and plenty of sniffing into our guests' stays. 🐶 All shapes, sizes & personalities welcome: From little pups to gentle giants, energetic personalities to professional couch loungers, we understand that every dog is different. I do take the time to learn your dog's routine, personality, preferences, and comfort level. 📸 You'll receive photos and updates throughout your dog's stay, so you can see how they're doing and enjoy your time away with peace of mind. 🚗 Transportation is also available for an additional fee, depending on location, and I am happy to accommodate extended stays of 7+ nights. My goal is simple: provide a warm, comfortable place where your dog can enjoy their own little vacation while you're enjoying yours. Rest assured, during your pups stay they will be only with a familiar face, Benji the house resident and myself :)❤️🐾 Pet care is a natural part of our everyday routine. Because I welcome a maximum of only three guest dogs at a time, I'm able to give each pup plenty of individual attention throughout the day. Our guests enjoy regular leashed walks and potty breaks, including walks along the beautiful Heritage Trail located right by our home. There is plenty of time for play, exploring, naps, cuddles, and simply relaxing with us around the house. I do my best to maintain each dog's normal feeding, sleeping, walking, and medication schedule so their stay feels as comfortable and familiar as possible. I also welcome extended stays of 7+ nights and offer transportation for an additional fee when needed. My home is located on two beautiful acres with a pond and direct access to the Heritage Trail, giving your dog plenty of opportunities for supervised outdoor time, adventurous sniffs, and leashed walks. Inside, I provide a cage-free, home-style environment. Guest dogs have free roam of my home and are treated like part of the family rather than being kept in kennels. I will use a crate if an owner requests it because that is what their dog is accustomed to at home. I accept dogs of all sizes and personalities and take time to learn about each dog’s temperament, routine, habits, and individual needs before their stay. I limit boarding to a maximum of three guest dogs at a time so I can provide close supervision and personalized attention. With more than 15 years of dog-boarding and care experience, creating a safe, loving, and comfortable environment is always my priority. Owners also receive regular photos and updates while they’re away. I encourage clients parents to check in whenever they would like - even a facetime here and there would be nice!

Sara was wonderful. Our first time using a dog sitter and I was anxious about the experience. Would the boys behave, or would the sitter really give them attention? Well yes and definitely yes. The experience was great for us and the doggos. Our dogs are a large breed and a giant breed. Sara didn't have any qualms about their sizes and we were able to relax and enjoy a weekend away. Would absolutely use Sara's services again. Highly recommend.

My dog Griffin has been to other Rover sitters and this was the first time he showed me that he was completely comfortable from the moment he walked in the door at our meet and greet! He walked around the place like it was his own home! Amy and her family took care of Griffin for a 2 night stay. I was so happy he would be able to play with her kids and the other dogs there, as he loves attention from all beings. I will look to see if Amy is available any time Griffin needs sitting again! Thanks again, Amy!

About: Originally from upstate NY, I spent time working as a professional veterinary assistant in Atlanta, GA while in school. In this role, I worked directly under a veterinarian to monitor, clean, and provide medical check-ups for dogs at local pet centers, while also providing care for other animals at a boarding and daycare resort. With this hands-on experience, I am deeply familiar with dog health, sanitization, and administering medications. I enjoy spending time with dogs, understand how to spot early signs of illness, and know how to keep dogs on a fun and healthy routine. Since moving back to upstate NY, I do part-time work as a tech consultant from home. This allows me to give plenty of attention to your pet, while also providing plenty of outdoor activities. My wife also works from home, which allows her the flexibility to help as well. Our house is situated right next to the D&H Canal trail, and we take regular walks on a daily basis.Whether your dog is a growing puppy who needs attentive care or an older dog who requires a reliable, experienced handler, my top priority is maintaining their health, safety, and happiness while you are away. My wife and I both work part-time from home, which gives us highly flexible schedules to prioritize your pet's care throughout the week. Our daily routine naturally includes multiple walks along the scenic D&H Canal trail, which directly borders our property. Because our work keeps us at home, guest pets enjoy consistent supervision, frequent potty breaks, and plenty of playful companionship. Our home sits far back from the road at the end of a long driveway, offering a very quiet, safe environment. We sit on 10 acres of land, featuring 3 groomed acres for supervised play and 7 acres of private woods. While our yard is only partially fenced, we have two large, fully enclosed decks that are completely fenced in—perfect for safe sunbathing, lounging, and secure outdoor activities. We also utilize a collapsible fence that we can pull out and set up to create customized secure boundaries if necessary. For exercise, dogs are strictly supervised and kept on-leash as we head down the driveway to our private access point for the D&H Canal trail, keeping them completely away from traffic.

Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.

Many sitters in NY ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.

By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
