I wake up around 6:30-8:00 AM most days and get right to work caring for the pets. Everyone is let out in backyard, or leashed up for a walk around the block. Pets are diligently cared for. Usually this consists of at least 3 walks per day, a visit to the park, and plenty of backyard time. I spend all day with the animals, leaving only for a personal errand or visit to the store. Each animal is analyzed carefully & fit into proper schedules according to their personality, levels of energy, and socialization. I provide a secure, fenced-in yard and individual kennels for each pet’s comfort and safety. Dogs start their day around 6:30–8:00 AM with a 10 to 30-minute walk, followed by supervised backyard playtime and snacks. Kennels are used only for rest and feeding—pets spend the majority of their day active, social, and engaged. I tailor care to each pet’s needs, whether that includes frequent park trips, light obedience training, short backyard outings or bathing. My goal is to ensure every animal feels safe, loved, and enriched in a clean, well-maintained environment.

About: My husband and I have always had pets growing up. We knew we wanted this for our children as well. Our daughter and son love pets and would want a farm if we allowed it! I am available mornings, afternoons and evenings. Before I leave for work all pets are fed and taken outside. Upon returning home I let the pets out again for a bit longer to play in our fenced in yard. Mornings begin with food and water and a morning treat. Bella lets us know when she needs to go out by going to the patio door. During the day she is very chill and usually lays on the sofa waiting on the kids to return from school. When everyone is home from work and school Bella is fed again and everyone gets some snuggles in with her.

“This was our pups’ first time away from us and Jennifer was so great with them! We have a longer boarding stay coming up and wanted to see how they would do beforehand. She was so patient with my anxious boy and helped them both settle in in their own time. They were running around and playing by the end of the stay! She was also really communicative and kept us updated often with lots of photos. I’m incredibly picky about who watches my dogs, but after today, I have no reservations about leaving them in Jennifer’s care. They’ll be seeing her again soon!”

In addition to having a love for animals, I have a passion for veterinary medicine and have been in the veterinary field for the last 13 years. Owners will have confidence and peace of mind that I am very familiar with animal behavior and can quickly assess any situation. If you are looking for someone who is great with communication, updates, and will treat your pet like their own, then I would love to give your fur baby a safe place to stay while you're away! **We do have a fully fenced yard and someone here at all times. **Board and train also available upon request. Aside from working 2-3 half day shifts at the the vet clinic, I do work around my barn from home and have ample amount of time to spend with both my pets and yours to make sure they are not alone for hours on end. My home is often called puppy heaven by clients and friends! I have several dog-friendly pups of my own that are off-leash trained and enjoy running and playing in my fenced yard of several acres. If your pup needs any special accommodations, daily meds, or needs to be hand walked, etc., health and safety is priority and I am happy to go above and beyond to make them feel at home!

I have experience with senior, young, adult age animals. Currently, I work part-time at a dog daycare & boarding facility. About: I’ve grown up with dogs my whole life but just recently lost my dog to cancer. I have had experience taking care of new born pups as well as senior dogs, small and large! I was also raised with cats and had a cat of my own. I have experience taking care of parrots, snakes, chickens, and turtles!! I currently have 4 chickens. I’ve cared for friends and family’s pets staying at their home and doing daily walks/check-ins. I have a fenced in back yard and a great neighborhood to walk in! On the weekends I am home mostly doing homework or yard work so I am usually available and can give a lot of attention to your pet!! Also, I don’t go to LSU games so I am available to care for your pets while you enjoy the game! 🐯 I am very caring and conscientious. I am always thinking about how they are feeling and I feel happy when I know my pet or someone else’s pet is happy and safe. I am very safety oriented and will always make sure the pets have the best care they could have. I have a great big dog bed and a fenced in back yard. I am very clean and tidy and I am used to a dog that would eat anything that is out and about so I keep everything organized and away.

“Anika clearly cares so much about dogs. Before booking my dog in for daycare, she wanted to meet with us to see if our dogs were a good fit together. I really appreciated her taking the time to do that, because my dog is extremely playful and energetic and not all dogs can handle that! Knowing about a bad previous experience I had with a sitter, I feel like she took extra care to send me updates and pictures of Kaju to put me at ease. She went above and beyond in his care- taking him for walks, letting him play with her dog in the yard, and feeding him on time. I trust her completely to care for Kaju, and I know he trusts her too because he was able to take naps at her place (something that he is not always able to do due to trust issues). Anika is an exemplary dog sitter and we will be returning regularly!”

I really enjoy training too, whether it’s playing ball, doing some basic obedience work, or just sitting and creating a relaxed state of mind. I’m good at reading cues and making sure the dogs feel safe while they’re with me. Options include field play time, scent games, recall work, and a slat-mill for burning energy inside during the hottest months. I am certified by Animal Behavior College and have been training at Larry Benoit's facility for about 6 months. I care for all of the dogs just like my own! I have many dogs here and allow friends to play. I can also crate and rotate if you're not sure your dog will get along with others. When we train, we focus one on one!
