I will always carry this horrible hole in my heart after the BIG loss. I’ve decided to join Rover to fulfill my purpose of helping others with their loved ones as best as I can, so we both know they are in good hands while you are busy with your obligations. I am here for you and for them. I understand how important our four legged friends are, and I will make sure we are all happy at the end of the busy day. We can go for long walks, we can stay home, we can relax or play! Whatever it takes for you and your pet to be comfortable and completely satisfied. I am here to help! I have a fenced large backyard. I have a cat and a dog. They are both extremely friendly. If needed they can be separated from a pet I do take care of.

About: As a dog walker I pride myself on my ability to match energy with your dog but also reign it in when necessary for pet and person safety. Your dog should always be tired out but still wanting to walk more when I am done with them. I am also very present with your dog sharing a loving vibration while we have the chance to bond together on a walk. As a house sitter and drop-in option I pride myself on cleanliness and organization of a home and efficiency in getting your dog the most attention possible during my visits and stays. They will get plenty of bathroom/get outside breaks and I will be sure to play with them until they are well worn out. About: I have been working with dogs & cats professionally for 12 years, most recently working in the foster and adoption's office at the Philadelphia Animal Welfare Society where I specialized in management of dog behavior cases and senior pets. I was a foster parent for hospice and special needs cats for 4 years, so I am comfortable with a wide range of medications, symptoms, and care - including injections. Prior to working in rescue, I was a full time dog walker for 6 years, and have experience with dogs who may require more precaution and management on walks for issues such as leash reactivity, dog-dog aggression, or stranger danger. I am an advocate for positive reinforcement based training methods, fear free handling, and consent based interactions. While pet sitting is certainly a fun job, it has never been something I take lightly - leaving your best friend/family member with an unfamiliar person can be incredibly scary, so building trust is something I care about deeply. **Note: If you are in a difficult financial situation, I do sometimes offer sliding scale pricing. Depending on the needs of your pet, I am open to discussing price adjustments outside of what I have listed regarding drop-ins, additional pets, etc. - at a meet and great we can talk over care details and come up with something that works for both of us. I recently returned from a work exchange in Southeast Asia at the end of December, so as of now pet sitting is my main gig. My schedule is currently quite flexible, however I cannot commit to sitting dates that are more than 6 weeks in advance. Given my background working with a wide range of pet personalities, safety is always my #1 concern when it comes to interacting with any animal; I am well versed in body language, anxiety disorders, & safe handling techniques. I love to know any and all information about your pet before beginning care so that I can ensure that we are both comfortable. I have really seen it all when it comes to behavior so I don't judge, but I do feel it is extremely important to discuss if your pet has a bite history, known stress triggers, handling sensitive body parts, or other behaviors that may pose a safety concern to me, your pet, or your community. I take your notes, advice, and requests very seriously when it comes to equipment, routine, and diet - only utilizing the tools you provide, unless otherwise discussed. Given my beliefs surrounding humane handling and positive reinforcement, I am not comfortable servicing clients where using aversive equipment such as shock collars is required (I would be happy to provide resources on some alternatives).

“Tierney was the best! Our dog absolutely loved her from the first time he laid eyes on her (and I would say he's a pretty good judge of character!). She stayed at our apartment for five days, and upon us coming back from vacation she had taken out the trash and the place still looked absolutely spotless. Whether my parents were going out of town or friends needed someone to watch their pup while they went away, I was always the girl they would call! I’ve had 8 dogs, 2 cats, a Guinea pig, and a hamster in my lifetime both growing up and in my adulthood, so it’s easy to say I love animals and enjoy taking care of them! I also continuously foster dogs whenever I am able. I have experience with all sorts of dogs; big and small, medical cases, human reactive dogs, dog reactive dogs, geriatric dogs, and many more! My specialty is boarding dogs that others may stray away from due to behavior concerns. But keep in mind, if I do not believe I am a good fit for your dog or vice versa, I will honest for the betterment of the dog :) I previously volunteered with a dog rescue for 2 years, and have acquired knowledge on force free/fear free positive reinforcement training as well as canine behavior through their certified behavioral specialist. DROP-OFF/PICK-UP: Please note that I do have a full time job so evening drop off right after work is preferred. This gives me ample amount of time to get your dog acquainted to my me and my house. Hard drop-off and pick-up times please! :) This is easier for both your schedule and mine and doesn’t leave room for misinterpretation. although my work schedule is more rigorous than most dog boarders, due to working full time, my personal and boarded dogs are always my #1 priority. I will treat your dogs the way that I would appreciate any dog sitter to treat mine. I am not around all day, 24/7 like some sitters, but I can promise you they will be loved and cared for the way I care for my own. I board multiple dogs at a time and am familiar with all types of breads and personality traits. I have plenty of room to keep up to 4 or 5 dogs separate from each other but will still allow for plenty of space to roam and feel comfortable.
