“Aaliyah is the best and very easy to get along with! She stayed the night with my pup for two nights. She was extremely responsive and sent me regular pictures + updates. She was SO flexible with me pushing the dog sitting back one day and then later asking to extend it another day. She spent a ton of time at the house with Bowie and was intentional about giving him enrichment and playtime. She left the key exactly where I asked her to and locked all of my doors. She was respectful of our home and left it exactly how it was before she got here. She is my new go to pet sitter!”

About: I’ve grown up around animals my whole life and have always been the person who wants to love on every critter I meet! I have several sweet fur babies of my own and have cared for all kinds of animals over the years—from dogs and cats to horses, birds, lizards, rats, and pretty much anything else you can name. I’ve also had the opportunity to foster 3 medical puppies through LCHS, along with 1 non-medical foster dog. Fostering has given me even more experience with animals who need a little extra patience, attention, and TLC. I am also familiar and comfortable with administering medicine to cats and dogs from pills to shots and creams. I genuinely love animals and really enjoy getting to know each pet’s personality and quirks. I know how important it is to feel comfortable leaving your pets with someone else, so I take their care very seriously. When your pets are with me, they’ll be treated just like my own with plenty of love, attention, playtime, and cuddles (if they’re into that, of course!). I work a full time job M-F but am able to do lunchtime potty breaks. If you are interested in booking over weekdays it would be best that your fur baby can be alone for 4 hour increments. If your pet is people/pet friendly and you approve I am able to bring dogs to my office space. Your pet’s safety and comfort are always my top priorities. I treat every pet like my own and take the responsibility of caring for them very seriously. I’ll follow your instructions and routines closely, and make sure they’re happy, safe, and comfortable. I want you to feel completely at ease while you are gone and pride myself on sending often updates and photos of your fur babies.
“I highly recommend Shelby. She’s friendly and personable and left our house in great shape. The kitties were fed and watered as requested and she even snapped a few photos. She was here when she said she would be and is a stellar sitter :)”

“I honestly couldn’t have asked for a better pet sitter. Yasmine is incredibly loving, attentive, respectful, and responsible. Toby (my dog) absolutely adored her because of how caring and affectionate she was with him. She even bought him toys, and they spent so much time together throughout the day. She also constantly sent me photos and updates, which gave me so much peace of mind and made me feel reassured that Toby was happy and well taken care of at all times. I highly recommend Yasmine with complete confidence to anyone looking for someone trustworthy and genuinely caring to look after their pets.”

“Andrew is great! He really cared about our dog and frequently updated us on how the dog was doing. He also left the house spotless. We will definitely hire him again.”

“Louisa did an amazing job! I have a kitty with special care/feeding instructions that require attention to detail that she followed perfectly. She also took great care of my home and provided updates on everything as I away. I could tell she genuinely cares about animals just from our initial meet & greet too. I always get so nervous leaving my cat when I go on trips but Louisa absolutely earned my trust and I will be booking with her again in the future for sure as long as she’s still pet sitting. Thank you so much again :)”

About: I’ve grown up surrounded by dogs and cats and have always had a natural love for animals. I’m experienced with dogs of all ages, including puppies, and have taught many of my own dogs basic commands like sit, lay down, shake, spin, and roll over. I’m also comfortable helping puppies learn potty routines and providing lots of patience, structure, and positive reinforcement. I love keeping dogs active and happy! Whether it’s a long walk, a nature trail, a hike, or a fun day by the lake, I enjoy giving dogs plenty of exercise, stimulation, and attention. I have dogs of my own, so I understand how important it is to know your pets are safe, loved, and cared for when you’re away. 🐾❤️ My schedule is very flexible, which allows me to make pet care a priority throughout the day. I’m home most of the time and can accommodate morning, afternoon, evening, and overnight care depending on your pet’s needs. I’m available for walks, drop-ins, playtime, feeding, potty breaks, and extended stays. Because I have a flexible schedule, I can give your pets plenty of one-on-one attention rather than simply checking in and leaving. I’m happy to work around your routine and your pet’s individual needs, whether they need a quick potty break or lots of exercise and companionship. 🐾❤️ Whether I’m caring for pets in my home or in a client’s home, their safety, comfort, and happiness always come first. My home has a fenced-in area where dogs can safely get some fresh air and play, and I always supervise outdoor time. I also love keeping dogs active and engaged through walks, nature trails, and trips to the lake when appropriate. I’m happy to follow each pet parent’s instructions and routines, including feeding schedules, medications, potty breaks, and any house rules. When caring for pets in a client’s home, I treat their home and belongings with the same respect I would want for my own. I understand that leaving your pet with someone requires trust, and I’ll keep you updated with photos and messages so you know your pet is safe, happy, and well cared for. 🐾❤️

I take good care of them which includes giving baths, taking them on walks, playing with them, cuddling, and taking them on adventures🩷 My priority is your dog. I am accessible all day everyday! I'm currently not working and have plenty of time to take care of your pets☺️ My biggest priority is to make sure your dog is getting the attention it needs and the safety. Exercise, stimulation and love is prioritized in each visit🩷
“Meghan did a great job of taking care of our high energy lab. She was very responsive and also proactively checked in to let us know that everything was going okay. We will definitely use Meghan again if she is willing to do so!”

“Emily is absolutely wonderful!! She has done overnight stays in my home multiple times over the last year. During the year, I have acquired quite a few more pets then her first time sitting last summer. This visit Emily stayed in my home for two and a half weeks. She got thrown a few curve balls this visit and took them all in stride. First, my travel mates decided to leave a day early, I contacted her and on very short notice she was able to come a day early. Then right before I left, I found 2 abandoned kittens, I knew I wasn't going to be able to get them in anywhere on such short notice, so decided to keep them until I got back and then explore options for placement/adoption. Then one of my pets (a guinea pig) developed an abscess which warranted a trip to the ER vet, medication twice daily and a follow-up with his primary (exotic) vet. When she noticed a change in the guinea pig, she immediately contacted me and she was able to get him treatment. Without her close eye and swift intervention, things may not have turned out so well as a guinea pigs health can be quite fragile. She has been my pet sitter for a year, and during that time she has built bonds and relationships with my pets and knows their personalities, behaviors and preferences. She is able to quickly identify any changes. She is always very professional and communicates daily via texts and frequently sends pictures/videos. She takes great care of my pets and she always leaves my home neat and tidy. It is so nice to come home to happy, healthy pets and a clean house after being away. I can not speak highly enough about her! She is wonderful! I would recommend her for any and all of your pet sitting needs.”

About: I am observant and attentive to animal needs. I’ve worked as a barn hand for 40 horses, volunteered with wildlife rescue, and completed pet & equine first aid training. I plan to attend school part-time in the fall 2026. I’m not seeking other employment at this time. My willingness & availability are open and my car is dependable! I’m willing to check in on your pet or stay the night. Either way I can be trusted to treat your home respectfully and follow routine care for your pet.
“Annabelle was an amazing sitter for Ollie. She went the extra mile to come meet us prior to the visit and make sure she was comfortable with Ollie and his routine. She was punctual and was sure to ask any questions she had, which I really appreciated. Ollie can be a bit challenging when I’m not home, but I felt extremely comfortable in Annabelle’s ability to care for him. I would definitely have Annabelle watch Ollie again.”

About: Hi! I'm a recent MFA graduate from FSU, dog owner, and long-time pet lover and foster mom. I have worked with a pretty wide variety of dogs from my time volunteering and fostering for a rescue when I lived in Gainesville. (I also worked at the UF vet college for 4 years, in an administrative capacity.) I have some experience with cats too, including a cat that needed insulin shots. I just graduated with a master's degree in writing and am looking for gig-type work that allows me writing time. Currently my schedule is very open! I am 40 and have a little more life experience than many local sitters. I have experience giving medication and injections. Happy to answer any questions you have about safety.
“I have so many great things to say about Analia and I probably won’t fit them all in this review, but I’m going to try. My partner and I were going on a cross country road trip for two weeks and found ourselves in need of a sitter for our two dogs the day we were supposed to leave for our trip. Before we even met, Analia left an incredible impression. She was compassionate, understanding, and flexible. She agreed to watch our dogs and stop by less than 12 hours before we had to leave. Our dogs are still young and in training, and for some people they can be a bit overwhelming. Analia was not phased at all by this, and from our first interactions, I could tell she was going to give just as much love and attention as we would. She had already looked over our care instructions and remembered facts about them, but she really took it a step further by asking how she could continue their training (something that means a lot to us, but we don’t always expect of others because it can be challenging; we were floored by her thoughtfulness and generosity). We left town feeling so secure having Analia taking care of our dogs. Analia continued to exceed expectations throughout our trip. She very intentionally sent updates, photos, and videos nearly every day, was super flexible when we ran out of food because our shipment didn’t come in, and went out of her way to bring our dogs new toys. When our arrival back home was delayed, Analia was incredibly accommodating and watched the dogs for a couple extra days despite it being last minute and her already having other plans. I feel so lucky to have been connected with Analia, not only because she was a great sitter for our dogs, but because she is such a kind and compassionate person, and was someone I thoroughly enjoyed talking to throughout our trip. She truly is a gem, and someone we will continue to trust our dogs with. If you take anything away from this review, it is that you should end your search here and choose Analia, because you will not regret it.”

Frequently asked questions about Rover
As of August 2026, there are 334 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Midway. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Midway walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Midway maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Midway choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Midway. On Rover:
- 86% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 100% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 100% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
