Aaliyah is the best and very easy to get along with! She stayed the night with my pup for two nights. She was extremely responsive and sent me regular pictures + updates. She was SO flexible with me pushing the dog sitting back one day and then later asking to extend it another day. She spent a ton of time at the house with Bowie and was intentional about giving him enrichment and playtime. She left the key exactly where I asked her to and locked all of my doors. She was respectful of our home and left it exactly how it was before she got here. She is my new go to pet sitter!

Kayla was absolutely amazing! She took such wonderful care of my two cats, sent me adorable pictures and videos while I was away, and made me feel completely at ease. She’s dependable, kind, and treated my boys like her own. I came home to happy, well-fed cats and everything perfectly in order. I truly appreciate her reliability and the love she shows for animals. I’ll definitely be booking her again — highly recommend Kayla to anyone looking for a trustworthy and caring sitter! ❤️🐾

Sydne came over to babysit my pups for a firework holiday because one of them is very nervous, and she did really well with them. I got updates all evening, and she asked questions if she needed. I felt nervous at first, because I had a bad experience with someone last year, but she was a breath of fresh air for me. I'll definitely be contacting her again!

About: I have taken care of all kinds of cats and dogs. From family and friends to just neighbors. I love taking care of people’s pets because it allows me to get to know them and enjoy them from a far. I am currently finishing up my senior year in high school. I am available most weekends for now, but will be looking for more opportunities over the summer. I am very trustworthy and care for peoples pets as if they were my own. I am also very careful when in others peoples homes because I would expect the same treatment if they were in my home or taking care of my pets.

About: There’s more to pet care than just being an animal lover. It requires a degree of commitment, trustworthiness, and responsibility. When I take care of a pet, my priority is in maintaining its routine, its comfort, and overall physical and mental wellbeing (in addition to having fun of course). Your pet deserves to be cared for and treated like family, even when you’re away! In addition to having long term experience with house and pet sitting, I used to volunteer in my free time to walk dogs at the SPCA in my hometown. I have experience administering injectable medications for a diabetic cat, and oral medication for a dog. I’m a student at Florida State University, going into my third year this fall. For the summer semester, my schedule is incredibly open, so I’m looking for fun and helpful jobs to fill my time. I only take one class in the morning (9:45-11:50) and the rest are online. I will have plenty of time before and after class to provide pet care services, so do not hesitate to reach out! I aim to adhere as closely to a pet’s regular schedule as possible. I want your animal to feel comfortable and safe, and when sitting, keep the house as clean and orderly as it was left.

Andrew is a very conscientious sitter and we recommend him to anyone. He stayed with our very young toy maltipoo for an evening in our home. Our dog immediately loved him, and ran to the window and cried when he left. From my experience and reading his other reviews, he seems to have a natural way with animals. We will absolutely hire him again in the future.

About: I've been taking care of dogs and cats of all ages and sizes since I was 10 years old. I can walk dogs of all types, as well as feed and play with, bathe, and take care of any breed of dog, including senior dogs. I have even more experience with cat care and can take care of any cat, including senior cats. I'm currently working part-time, so I have plenty of time to care for and play with your pets! I am a student but I take one in-person class and live off-campus, so my availability is very open. I have a gated apartment community with a dog park area and many public parks nearby to entertain your dogs with. My home is pet safe and also pet free at the moment for anyone who would be concerned about that!

Carolina was amazing with my pup Riley. He is 15 years old and requires a lot of extra care, including strict medication schedules, timed feedings, and regular walks. He isn’t the easiest dog to look after, but Carolina was attentive, reliable, and very hands-on with his care. She sent frequent photo updates and kept me consistently informed, which gave me so much peace of mind. As an older chihuahua, Riley can be a little grumpy (okay, sometimes mean), but Carolina was completely unfazed and handled him with so much patience and gentleness. I felt totally comfortable knowing he was in such good hands. She is a wonderful sitter, and I would recommend her to anyone without hesitation.

About: Been around dogs, cats, gerbils, and birds throughout my life. All pets are considered family. They need love, respect, and guidance, too. I have walked dogs, groomed cats, cleaned out kennels, cages, and cat boxes, and play is important even for older pets. Most of my days have availability for pet care. A good time for care could be early morning, mid day, or late afternoon/evening just keep communication clear and timely. I have two cats who require biscuit making cuddles and play everyday. I groom their fur and shorten their nails as needed. Feeding for them is twice a day and their play incorporates exercise.

Louisa did an amazing job! I have a kitty with special care/feeding instructions that require attention to detail that she followed perfectly. She also took great care of my home and provided updates on everything as I away. I could tell she genuinely cares about animals just from our initial meet & greet too. I always get so nervous leaving my cat when I go on trips but Louisa absolutely earned my trust and I will be booking with her again in the future for sure as long as she’s still pet sitting. Thank you so much again :)

As this was only the second time leaving my dog with someone else, I was understandably anxious. However, Deborah's attentiveness to my dog's needs made all the difference. She kept me updated on how my dog was adjusting, sharing uodates and photos. The fact that Deborah even offered to pick up and drop off my dog at my house was above and beyond what I expected. Her dedication and kindness truly made this experience fantastic. I can't recommend her enough!

About: As an aspiring vet, it is my duty to ensure the health and welfare of any animal in my care. I make sure to carefully observe and notate any abnormalities while pet sitting to make sure any issues are caught early on Currently working part-time as a veterinary assistant, on my journey to come a veterinarian, pet care is my everyday life and has been for the past 5 years. I have easy access to a large dog park, and open fields so plenty of outside time is used. My home is also very spacious, plenty of roaming around space with a fenced deck for sunbathing as well

Isaac was an absolutely amazing dog sitter! Super caring, attentive, and really took the time to understand our dog’s needs. He spent the whole weekend playing with him and making sure he was happy and comfortable. On top of that, he surprised us with a beautiful sketch of our dog, which was such a thoughtful touch. We came home to a very happy pup and couldn’t recommend him more!

Mac is amazing! She took wonderful care of our three cats in our home for a week. She sent us photos every day, kept us updated, and was always so positive and communicative. We had complete peace of mind knowing our cats were well cared for. When we returned home, the house was spotless! We couldn't have asked for a better sitter and would absolutely book with Mac again. Highly recommend!

FAQs for House Sitting - Hilliardville

Frequently asked questions about Rover

As of July 2026, there are 317 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Hilliardville. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Hilliardville walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Hilliardville maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Hilliardville choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Hilliardville. On Rover:

  • 87% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 100% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 100% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
