About: I provide calm, attentive boarding in a quiet home with a fully fenced backyard. I keep my boarding group intentionally small, hosting no more than four dogs at a time, and carefully consider each dog’s temperament, needs, and compatibility. This allows me to provide a lower-stimulation environment, consistent routines, and plenty of personal attention without operating like a high-volume kennel. I’m currently taking a break from pet ownership after my own dog passed away, so visiting dogs receive my full focus while they’re here. My home has no resident pets and no children, which can be especially helpful for dogs who may feel overwhelmed in busier boarding settings. I have over 20 years of experience caring for dogs and cats, including senior pets and pets with medication or special care needs. During the COVID period, I fostered 12+ dogs through Schenectady Homeward Bound, which gave me experience with a wide range of temperaments, routines, energy levels, and adjustment needs. My goal is to provide a safe, clean, comfortable home-away-from-home where your dog can settle in, enjoy the yard, go for walks, and keep as much of their normal routine as possible. I work full-time, but I often work from home and live close enough to stop in frequently during the day. This gives me the flexibility to provide regular walks, potty breaks, and companionship. I'm available for boarding and drop-in visits on evenings, weekends, and holidays. Safety and comfort are my priorities. My home has a fully fenced backyard for supervised outdoor time. I generally host pets from one household at a time, which allows me to provide a calm, home-based experience with plenty of individual attention. I carefully consider temperament, size, routines, and compatibility, and I can separate pets for meals, rest, or individual attention when needed. I follow care instructions closely, including feeding schedules, medications, crate routines, walking preferences, and any specific comfort needs. Written instructions are especially helpful because they allow me to keep your dog’s routine as consistent as possible while you’re away. I keep a clean, calm, non-smoking home and aim to prevent the stress that can come with crowded boarding environments. Dogs have regular potty breaks, backyard time, walks, companionship, and downtime throughout the day. You’ll receive regular photo and message updates so you can relax knowing your dog is safe, comfortable, and well cared for.
“Kelly is an amazing cat whisperer who has taken wonderful care of our skittish cat. She goes above and beyond daily care and our cat actually sits on her lap. Very good with communication. Highly recommend!”

“As always, it was a great experience having you care for my kitties, Louie and Loco. Thank you so much. It makes a world of difference having someone you can trust to watch over your fur babies:)) They say thank you 😊”

“Emily is very easy to communicate with which helps with peace of mind! The dogs followed her around immediately and she was great with them. Would definitely book again!”

“She's been so reliable and punctual and keeps in touch about everything! Even extra photos!! Thrilled with Sabrina! And my dogs are tired out at the end of day thanks to their mid day exercise!”

“Haley has been wonderful with my puppy, Gus! It's such a relief knowing he's in good hands while I'm at work. She's reliable, communicates well, sends updates, and always makes sure he gets plenty of potty time and play. It's clear she genuinely cares about him, and he's extremely comfortable with her. I highly recommend Haley to anyone looking for a trustworthy and caring pet sitter!”

“Angela is reliable, cat friendly and makes you feel at ease knowing she drops in. She made friends with my unsocial cat. That has made us especially glad we had her services.”

“Caitlynn is the absolute best. I have 3 crazy pitbulls and she handles them beautifully. They are not easy dogs to keep safe, but Caitlynn makes it look effortless. It’s been years since my husband and I have been able to travel, but now that we have Caitlynn in our lives there are many things that we can look forward to knowing we can count on her. She stayed for over 2 hours getting to know us, our home, and furbabies before we had her over. She really made sure we were all comfortable and we are so grateful for that. We love Caitlynn and can’t wait to have her back💖”

“Thank you for taking my Derby last minute. You were professional with my expectations, The times we talked about, Great communication if something came up. Thank you for going the extra step and picking up the mess he made when he got into my basket that had snacks in it. I really appreciated that. The pictures you took of him while taking him out, was super sweet. He’s such a good boy. Recommend you anytime.”

About: I’ve been the primary care taker of my dog. I have also dog sat multiple times for 4 different dogs, three of which are in the same household. I’m currently working part-time at tacobell, and I’m still in high-school, but for the summer I am mainly working from around 930/10 to about 5/530, this will definitely change when school starts back up though! I would like to work more at other peoples houses due to my own dog being territorial.. I can take the dogs out for walks (Maybe take them on a trail if that’s alright) or I can let them into the backyard if that’s what is preferred. I will also pick up the dog’s poop (I’ll bring my own poop bags and will throw it away in the outside garbage can).
“This was our first time hiring a pet sitter at our camp, and Paul made the whole experience easy. He was reliable, sent regular updates, and our mini australian shepherd, Ziggy, clearly felt comfortable with him. We scheduled a meet-and-great in advance of the first visit to give Paul the lowdown on the routine, and he followed through perfectly on the second visit. We will definitely have Paul help us out in in 2026.”

“I cannot say enough about how great Sam was with our fur-babies. She really took the time with them and made our going away super stress free for us and them. We don’t go away often but will definitely look to use Sam again and will recommend and sing her praises to whoever will listen. Thank you so much Sam!!! I cannot say enough how much we appreciate you!!!”

“I booked Elaina to do a drop In visit for my 10 week old puppy and my 8 month old puppy. She cleaned up the pee on the floor, let out my two older dogs and stayed over a half an hour to get my stubborn 8 months old puppy back in her kennel. I will definitely be booking again, if she is still willing to accept us after today’s events.”

About: I’ve been surrounded by pets since I was born. I grew up walking, feeding, bathing, and loving my first two dogs—a Chocolate Lab and a giant Weimaraner. Since those two, my pet family expanded to a Yellow Lab, a rescue mutt (Australian Kelpie), a Hound mix, an Australian Shepherd-Pitbull mix, a Great Dane, a Pomeranian, a three-legged rescue dog, three horses, five goats, two pigs, three mini horses, and a cat. Throughout my life, I’ve helped to take care of each and every pet that we’ve had. While it’s not always easy, I love every second of it. I am home from college for the summer (May-August), so I will be very flexible and available to help out you and your pets :) I will always make sure your fur baby is happy, healthy, and comfortable. In my care, your pet will always be my top priority. I will never take any job that I cannot 100% commit to.
About: Hello! I have a big heart and do my best to understand animals. Some say I have an animal magnetism. I've had meaningful relationships with animals most of my life. I used to walk dogs at Saratoga County Animal Shelter. Right now I own 4 cats who were feral and each found me in their own fascinating ways. I adore the unique personalities of each of my cats. Whenever friends or family ask me to check in on their pets I always make a point of spending quality time. I keep my service radius within a 15 minute drive for myself. I am able to travel with a charge of $15 per half hour. When one of my cats (all indoor) got out by mistake, I did everything to get him back: -Made signs and posted in my neighborhood - got the help of an animal intuitive - walked the woods and my area 3x a day -posted all over facebook including Steve Caporizzo’s lost pet connection. - borrowed a motion camera I could monitor from my phone anywhere. -set up a shelter outside one of my doors with food, blankets and water. The night he came back Tommy was circling my house for an hour and crying for the 3rd night in a row. I sat on the step of the door he initially got out of, talked sweetly to him, he got closer and closer until he threw his body down to the pavement and crawled his way to me. It was amazing how he returned. I had a cat live 20 years and my oldest right now is almost 15. With this 15 year old, I’ve become exceptional with giving special attention, food, grooming and medicine. I trim my cats claws. Thank you! About me: I am a creative type. I'm a working musician, Production Assistant of a local comic book and I’m also selling my artwork. I live in Greenfield Center with 4 cats I adore. I am integrating pet sitting in my life because I love animals and it'd be an awesome way to supplement my income. I’m just signing up with Rover as of late November 2023 and excited to offer exceptional care to animals I’m looking forward to meet. I am open to becoming a regular sitter and love the idea of helping humans with their animals on a more consistent basis. I’ve worked in TV/Film/Theater/Photography Production for decades. My most recent full time job was with a CBS/CW affiliate in evening tv news. I have 15 years experience in customer service and hospitality and over 20 in administration. I live in Greenfield Center, NY with reliable transportation. Safety, trust & environment: I love connecting with the animal and their personality while following through with your instructions. I always give them enough attention to make them feel loved, exercised or entertained. I am exceptionally trustworthy, responsible and transparent. I would send you photo or video updates if you wish.

Cat parents share their Rover experiences - Middle Grove
Miakoda did such a wonderful job with our cats. One is a flight risk and she was very careful in following our routine going into the house so he can’t escape. She was very communicative as well which was helpful. Will definitely use her as a sitter again.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Middle Grove. On Rover:
- 90% of sitters can help with special care needs

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
