Located lakefront with a fenced in play area and an attached doggie playroom recently renovated to dog camp specifications, Maggie & Raffy's Canine Camp is the perfect place for your dog to socialize and have fun with other dogs while you are away. Maggie is an Australian Shepherd and Raffy is a rough collie and both are very socialized hosts that make your pup's stay enjoyable and stress free. Find us on Facebook! About this sitter: We have a small in home boarding "camp" for day care and/or overnight guests in Northern NJ. The number of dogs we accept at one time is limited and we customize each dog's visit according to their needs. We treat visiting campers like one of the family! Maggie and Raffy are my two business partners. Maggie (Australian Shepherd) is our Social Director and she helps me with maintaining control and directing activities during play time with all the visiting "Campers" while Raffy (Rough Collie) is my PR Director who wins the Camper's parents over. He is a total love bug. I have been an animal person my entire life. I have had numerous dogs, cats and a horse throughout my life starting at birth. My first word as a baby was "dog". I volunteer at our local shelter with the dogs and I have taken CPR/first aid for pets through the Red Cross certification program. I am fully insured through PSA as well as the insurance Rover provides. Why I love dog sitting I have had dogs, cats and a horse for over 30 years and I grew up with dogs as a child. I also volunteer to work with the dogs at our local shelter. My two best friends are also my business partners now. My Australian Shepherd Maggie and my Rough Collie Raffy. About my yard Fenced in yard large enough for group play. My experience administering medication Yes, I can administer oral medications and subcutaneous injections.

I was so happy to find Sharon from Maggie & Raffy's Canine Camp just in the nick of time. I needed someone to look after my poodle mix for a couple of days so I could attend a wedding. My girl had never been boarded before and although she is a calm, silly, good girl I was nervous about leaving her at a boarding place. After meeting with Sharon, she was able to calm my fears and nerves, and reassure me that my dog would be well-taken care of. She kept me posted on the status of my dog throughout her stay which is great as I was a first timer. She was also able to help socialize my dog with other dogs. I was in complete shock, as my dog is always afraid of other dogs. I could see my girl Blizzy was having fun and found comfort in her stay with Sharon. I was very happy with my decision to leave Blizzy with Sharon and wouldn't hesitate to leave her again with her if I needed to.
Sharon was excellent with out little boy who is certainly quite a handful. Maggie and Raffy taught him a lot about good puppy behavior. Sharon was also fantastic about putting us at ease and helping reinforce the training we are doing at home.
Sharon cared for our dog stitch twice now and both times she has done a great job. The first time I left him when we went to Europe. I was so worried about leaving him for that long period of time but Sharon kept me me posted everyday with a text and pictures of my little boy. She treated Stitch with love and kindness. I would highly recommend her to anyone.
Our family has known Sharon for years, and when she opened Maggie & Raffy's Canine Camp we were thrilled that we now had a place to board our lab, Maya, with someone who truly adores animals and is so trustworthy. Sharon has transformed her home into the perfect canine oasis! I love the fact that the dogs have freedom to roam the house, play outside and sleep wherever they choose (the perfect set-up for our spoiled pup!). Maya loves visiting her friends Maggie & Raffy and all the new boarder friends she meets. The dogs are well attended-to and cared for with much love by Sharon.

I need to know if they get along with other dogs. Since this environment is basically like a controlled dog park, all the dogs need to be able to interact with each other and play. I can arrange to separate dogs and on occasion this does become necessary. I have had to arrange for two different play groups which is not a problem, and I am very careful about how I introduce the dogs to each other. One at a time in the play area. Prefer dogs that have socialization skills already.

Here's where we'll take our walks I will walk your dog if requested but they generally get more exercise in the play area. Your dog's sleeping arrangement Wherever your dog chooses. Some dogs lay next to the bed, some prefer sleeping on the couch. If your dog prefers a crate at night, they have access to this sleeping arrangement also. Some decisions need to be made dependent on the dog and circumstances. Time I'll spend with your dog I am here 24/7 and depending on the dog, I will allow them free roaming of the home if I run out for an errand. Basically, your dog is treated the same as my own in my house. If there is a chewing problem or puppies that are not house trained, I have a variety of crate sizes available or they can stay in the puppy playroom where they can not get into anything. Time I'll spend with your dog If I am visiting the home of the pet, I would spend half an hour for my pay rate. This includes a walk and play for a dog or cuddles and play time for a cat. When dogs come to our Camp for day care or overnight boarding, I am with them 24/7. Extra house-sitting services Of course I would as long as the request is reasonable.
