I have been around dogs all my life- I grew up alongside a beautiful Weimaraner, all my extended family are dog lovers, and I currently share an apartment with my roommate’s miniature Australian Shepherd. I am very good at gaining a new dog’s trust, especially timid or territorial dogs who usually take a while to relax around new people. I believe this is mostly because I am very perceptive of dogs’ body language and do a good job of introducing myself without generating fear/anxiety. Another important point is that I am physically able to walk large dogs without fear of being pulled or losing grip of the leash. I believe this lack of anxiety is often picked up on by dogs and can make them more relaxed as well. I also give great head scratches !
