“I would recommend Sophia as your pet sitter. We have 3 dogs from senior (15 years) and two 5 and 8. Sophia was great in communication from the start of booking to the last checkin. We were first time users of the service and Sophia made it so easy. Our pups loved her! I would definitely have Sophia again!”

“Alicia is always responsive, we just started working with her for pop in visits with my dogs during the work week. My puppy is very scared of strangers but she is willing to work with us thankfully! Hoping our puppy gets more comfortable so that we can continue to use her weekly our boy dog loves her!”

About: My family and I have had dogs and cats a part of our family for my entire life. I have had dogs in the family since I was little; and most recently have had the pleasure of three lovely ladies; two of which we have raised from puppies. I can care for dogs both young and old, as well as cats. I also have cats in my family, including some with health issues. My life revolves around my pets, and I’d love for your pets to be a part of that too! I’m working part time currently, as well as completing my high school education, but other than that my schedule is pretty open; specifically in afternoons or weekend mornings! I have crated dog experience, hyper dog experience, older dog experience, big/heavy dog experience, dog and cat interaction experience, and multiple dogs in a household experience.
“Jessica is the best! She is reliable, so easy to work with, and always quick to respond. And she is so great with my cat! Jessica really loves animals and makes sure they get lots of love and cuddles. I feel so lucky to have found Jessica, she is truly amazing!”

“Wow I was extremely nervous about leaving my boys with someone I didn’t know but David made everything so easy! We discussed all my expectations! He sent great updates and made sure I knew everything that was going to happen during the visits. I will absolutely rebook with David!”

About: I love caring for dogs in our home and treating them like they are a part of our family! Your dog will get plenty of attention and snuggles. Your dog will rarely be left alone as I am home almost all the time and if I am not, my family (all adults) helps care for the pets too. I have experience with senior dogs and those with anxiety. We have a fenced in yard and I also love to take dogs for walks in our quiet neighborhood. Please note that we have one cat in the house and a puppy. The puppy is a Carolina dog- mixed breed. As of June she is 8 months old. She has normal puppy energy and is ready to play! We would do a meet and greet to have the dogs meet before you booked to make sure you and your pup are comfortable. I enjoy getting to know each dog’s personality. I am interested in pursuing a future career working with pets. Your dog will be loved and treated like part of the family while staying with us. I have plenty of availability and flexibility in my schedule. For boarding, I am home all the time but in the chance that I am out, my family (all adults) is usually home. So your pet will rarely be alone. I am offering overnight boarding in my home. We are a family of 4 adult so there is almost always someone home. We do have a cat and a 6 month old puppy. We have a fenced in yard for your dog to run, but I will also take them for walks around the neighborhood.

“Sydney is so great! She was willing to stop by and meet our new puppy before sitting. She provided him with all the love and attention he needed when we weren’t home during the day. We couldn’t be more thankful to have such a nice, reliable, and trustworthy person to help us care for our little puppy!!”

About: Hi! I’m a part time nursing student at Neumann University living in Medford. I have over five years of experience caring for both dogs and cats. I also helped at my Dalmatian’s training facility when he was a puppy, where I learned positive reinforcement techniques and gained experience working with dogs of all ages. About: Experienced working with a variety of animals- dogs, cats, chickens, goats, aquatic pets (turtles, frogs, fish, etc.), and reptiles. Experience as a vet assistant provides strong foundation in caring for medically complex and senior pets, comfortable administering medications. While on break from school until May 2026, I have gaps in my schedule that will allow me to frequently check in on your pets throughout the day. Currently care for my two pups and bearded dragon at home. I enjoy pet care as it helps to provide a purposeful break from school. Caring for animals feels like second nature with my schedule, and I’m able to seamlessly provide for your pets while maintaining my school schedule without any lapse in care. I provide a close eye on the animals that I care for, and due to my experience as a veterinary assistant I am able to recognize potential medical needs of your animal companions. I’m comfortable walking pets, supervising them in a fenced in yard, or any other method that your pet uses to go outside! While in your home, I maintain close proximity to your pets, and engage them in enriching activities during my time with them.
“Melissa was absolutely amazing with our kitty and truly went above and beyond with caring for him and our home while we were away. Honestly felt completely at ease by day 2, knowing she had everything under control and the kitty was happy.”

About: I am a Mechanical Engineering student with an Art minor, but my true passion has always been animals. I believe pets deserve the same love, respect, and care as people, and I take that responsibility seriously. I currently care for five of my own pets, including three dogs of different sizes, a cat, and two guinea pigs. I’ve also owned cats in the past, so I have long-term, hands-on experience with both cats and dogs across different life stages and personalities. I have frequently been responsible for their full care independently, including feeding, walking, enrichment, and monitoring health and behavior. One of my dogs has severe anxiety and a pollen allergy, which has given me experience caring for animals with special needs, including close attention to symptoms, environmental triggers, and comfort management. I’m confident in recognizing signs of illness or distress and knowing when to seek veterinary attention. I also gained hands-on experience assisting with my mother’s dog walking business, TheDogWalkerMichele, where I helped care for both dogs and cats. In addition, I have accompanied my girlfriend on multiple pet sitting and dog walking jobs, assisting with feeding, walking, playtime, and general care for dogs, cats, and kittens. I’m especially experienced with anxious or shy animals and have a calm, patient approach that helps pets build trust and feel safe. I’m also confident in basic behavior management and ensuring pets stay both safe and well-behaved during care. As an engineering student, I bring a detail-oriented and responsible mindset to pet care, making sure each animal is cared for thoughtfully, efficiently, and lovingly. During the summer, I work part-time at Rowan University’s Admissions Office for approximately 20-25 hours per week. My shifts are flexible and scheduled between 8 AM and 4 PM, which allows me to plan my pet care availability around my work schedule. I am generally available early mornings, late afternoons, evenings, and overnight stays. I am also open to house sitting during the week, as long as I am able to step out for my scheduled work shifts during the day. I will always communicate my schedule clearly in advance to ensure pets are properly cared for and never left without attention during appropriate times. Outside of my work hours, I have a flexible schedule and can dedicate plenty of time to walking, feeding, playtime, and companionship. I prioritize creating a safe, calm, and respectful environment for every pet in my care. In a client’s home, I treat the space with the same respect I would my own: following all instructions closely, keeping things clean and organized, and ensuring pets remain comfortable in their familiar environment. My focus is always on the pet’s well-being and routine. I make sure they are fed on schedule, given fresh water, exercised appropriately, and provided with plenty of attention, comfort, and supervision. I am attentive to behavior changes and always prioritize safety, especially for anxious pets or those with special needs. I also understand how important trust is when caring for someone’s pet and home, so I communicate clearly, follow directions carefully, and make sure everything is handled responsibly and consistently.
About: What sets me apart is my flexibility from working at home, my experience with both dogs and cats, and my comfort caring for senior pets, including administering oral medications. I’m reliable, attentive, and always prioritize each pet’s safety, comfort, and routine. Pet care fits easily into my routine since I work from home. I schedule early morning and afternoon/evening visits, and I’m home throughout the day to provide attentive boarding and day care for dogs in a calm, safe environment. I care for pets by maintaining their normal routines and giving them plenty of attention, exercise, and affection. In my home, dogs enjoy a quiet neighborhood for walks and a fenced-in backyard for safe play and bathroom breaks. In clients’ homes, I’m respectful, detail-oriented, and focused on keeping pets comfortable, calm, and well cared for.
“Alyssa was phenomenal! She communicated throughout all of her visits and took photos of our pets to keep us at ease while we were away. I really appreciate her attention to details and her willingness to go above and beyond. We will 100% book her again.”

“Marissa is great every time she spends time with my dogs. She always goes above and beyond! My female dog is always more hesitant with people who aren’t me, and she’s had no trouble accepting Marissa. My aunt always requests her specifically when she knows I have to get a sitter.”

Heather was excellent. She was kind, professional, and clearly very responsible. She followed all instructions carefully and kept me updated with pictures, which gave me real peace of mind while I was away. It’s obvious she genuinely cares about the pets she looks after. A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
