“We really like Allison. We felt comfortable with her quickly when we met, and she arrived early the day we left. She communicated with us daily while we were away with updates and pictures. By the last day of our 4-day trip our Boop was completely smitten with her.”

“We’ve worked with Mickayla before, and have a future housesitting scheduled as well. Mickayla is communicative, reliable, and shows great care for our dogs. We’re grateful for Mickayla!”

“Maleny is the best!! She follow all instructions(we left a lot of specific info) and she truly care about our cats! The attention to the details is outstanding!!! We recommend her 100%!!!!”

“A wonderfully relaxed and stress-free experience! It was great to not have to worry about the cat and the house while we were out of town. Myrna was absolutely terrific, thanks so much!”

“Melody is amazing! She sent us updates about our dogs every day and she has excellent communication. Even when leaving for a few minutes to grab a Starbucks she would give us a heads up. It was so nice to know how the dogs were doing and to know when she would be leaving them even if for a short time. She never left them longer than what we asked they be left alone, which we have had previous issues with. She also did amazing at leaving our house cleaner than we left it, without an expectation of that. If our friends or family are unable to watch our dogs again we will definitely be using Melody, we trust her as much as our friends and family!”

“Chris was an excellent pup sitter for our black lab. We were nervous to leave our boy and it was our first time having a stranger in our home to care for him. Chris was kind and patient with Cayde and gave us frequent updates on how things were going. Chris put us at ease and left the home as he found it. We'd definitely have him return for future in-home pet sitting!!”

About: I grew up with a dog, and have always lived with either a dog or cat as an adult. My heart just fills with joy when I am around all four legged friends. I currently work full time as a pediatric medical assistant, but would be happy to come by after work to take care of any sweet dog or cat. Currently do not take care of of animals at my current residence as I am living with family who prefers to be pet free, but I am happy to come to you!
“Kathryn was wonderful with our little Sheltie. Very patient while our Sheltie warmed up to a new person. Over the 3-night stay, Kathryn sent multiple pictures and status reports, which we loved!”

“Absolutely perfect. Erica is extremely personable and professional. She unobtrusively kept in touch with us throughout her stay in our home with our dog so that we were able to leave our separation anxiety dog without worry, which truly is a blessing as anyone with a dog like ours can understand. Erica asked in advance if her daughter could accompany her, and we said yes, and we are glad we did: what a sweetheart and clearly an animal lover who instantly connected with our dog. We hope to have Erica and her daughter house sit with our dog again, possibly for multiple days. As much as we love our dog and our home would not be the same without him, it is so nice that my wife and I have found a caring and trustworthy person so that we can start planning some alone time at a nice restaurant, show and hotel stay downtown overnight, or on a multi-day adventure somewhere fun. We are grateful to have found such a great sitter.”

About: I am a remote worker with extra time available. I grew up with labs and Shih Tzus as well as cats. I've been dog sitting for the past 8 years and have done volunteer camps at the Willamette Humane Society. I am pretty flexible this summer for house sitting, dog walking, or drop ins. I can feed, walk, play with, cuddle, or even bathe your dog! I'm an animal lover and would be fine with other pets at the house, too. Watching and caring for dogs, cats or other pets is something I love to do on its own, aside from it being a "job." This would be a great way to spend my time. I am currently working part time, so will have time most days for drop ins, walks, etc. I am also available some weekends, as well. I have 2 dogs and 2 cats at home. If your pet is friendly, then it could be an option for them to come stay at my house.
About: I’ve been surrounded by animals my whole life: dogs, cats, lizards, fish, etc. Sadly, I found out as an adult that I am allergic to cats. It just means I get to love on dogs even more! I am a suburban single gal who works full time and is looking for a joyful way to spend my off hours! I’m hoping taking care of your loved one(s) brings us both the comfort and peace it can! I am more than happy to care for your animals in their own home to make sure it is an easy process for all. I can provide feedings and walks/exercise and of course, a lot of love! Happy to stay at your house overnight as well.
“Sarah stayed at our farm watching everything from emus, chickens and turkeys to dogs and goats. She did a fantastic job. Our house was extremely well respected and our dogs didn’t miss us one bit 😂 100000% recommend her for all of your needs. Thank you, Sarah!”

“When we get home from a trip, we can hardly tell Malissa was even here. House looks just as it was left and animals all well taken care of. You can tell how much she loves them.”

“We had Nicole come stay with our blind foster dog, Ducky, while we were away and it went better than we could have ever hoped. Ducky is quite the handful as she is a blind puppy with lots of attitude but Nicole saw right away how amazing Ducky is and knew exactly what she needed to feel safe and secure so she can be her hilariously goofy self! We got lots of updates throughout the week. She took her on walks every day, played with her non stop, and made sure that her routines were consistently followed. The day she left, ducky went into the room she was staying in and looked for her immediately. We will absolutely be booking Nicole again!”

“Karen was amazing. We cannot say enough good things about her, and we feel so lucky to have found her. She watched our two very different dogs while we were away for my father's memorial — our French Bulldog with separation anxiety and our parents' Saint Bernard, who is very sensitive. Karen handled both of them with so much patience, love, and care, and sent us regular updates that gave us complete peace of mind during an incredibly difficult time. Knowing our dogs were in such good hands allowed us to be fully present when we needed to be most. We came home to two happy, relaxed, well-loved pups — and that says it all. Karen is professional, compassionate, and genuinely wonderful with animals and a great person. We will absolutely be using her again and recommend her to anyone looking for a sitter who will treat your pets like family. 🐾”

“Natalya was attentive and gave exceptional care. She administered supplements, kept feeding time schedules, and took time for outdoor activities. We appreciated her communication and pictures. We will definitely schedule her for upcoming care. Thank you, Natalya for giving us a peace of mind. :-)))”

“Once again, Susan was fantastic with our Stella. The communication was clear and pictures she sent were great! We always feel comfortable leaving our pets with Susan!!”

“I had forgotten to book a pet sitter for an over night event. June more than willing and was very helpful within a weeks time-frame we had to book. June came for a meet and greet prior to taking care of our dog and cat. Everything worked out fantastic, our pets were well cared for by June and I received updates and pictures while we were away. Our home was also kept clean and tidy. My husband and I will definitely book with June again. (In advance) I know how her calendar fills up.”

“Erin was AMAZING! We are so thankful to of found and worked with her. She took such good care of our pups. One senior and one adult dog plus a cat. She made them feel at peace while we were away and couldn't of asked for a better outcome. Will work with her again.”

Frequently asked questions about Rover
As of August 2026, there are 3,853 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across McKee. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred McKee walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in McKee maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in McKee choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in McKee. On Rover:
- 96% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 98% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 95% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
