About: After a tragically pet-free childhood, I've spent the last 20 years seeking out any opportunity to care for animals—from free dog walking for friends and cat-sitting for vacationing pals to hiking with hounds and being a designated vet chauffeur. I love exploring the outdoors with a dog, chucking sticks across empty fields, and praising them for every "good stretch"! I do everything I can to make pet parents feel comfortable and assured when they leave their furry friends in my care—including plenty of photos and updates! I work from home as a writer/editor and a live-edge woodworker, so my schedule is entirely flexible and under my control. I have a fenced-in backyard with ample shade where I often write and work, so outside time is always available for the animals I care for. I love walking the city and wandering through green spaces, especially Audubon Park and City Park, and having a puppy pal to accompany me makes it even more enjoyable. My interior home space is approximately 1,800 square feet, with multiple couches and rooms and sunspots for dogs and/or cats to relax and lounge. The fenced-in backyard is well-secured with a 6-foot fence for stress-free bathroom breaks, and my active lifestyle takes me on at least 2 longer walks each day, typically in the morning and evening. Our little dog loved being with Katrina!! She was stellar!! Katrina was so kind and gentle with her and even brought her out and about town since our little dog is very social and thrives on going out. We could not have asked for a better sitter! We enjoyed getting all the superior updates with pics and videos whilst away. Our home was also well respected and very clean and tidy upon our return home while being away for 5 days. Jacob was great with our dog! He handled giving him twice daily insulin injections like a pro, was communicative, and sent us regular photos of a very happy pup. We got home to a clean house and a healthy, relaxed dog. We will absolutely use Jacob again as a sitter!
We have been so happy with our Rover sitters and Chandra is fantastic. We know how much she loves sitting for our sweet old girl Ahi. Having an ageing dog is worrisome when having to leave them but we know she’s in great hands with Chandra. From our first meeting she seemed very responsible confident sitting for a larger older dog and has managed her medications and new changes so well. That is huge for us and we will continue to book her again!
As much as we dislike leaving our pets (including two seniors with special needs) and home, we’re grateful they’re all in great hands with Joel. Laura is a shining star from above that has graced us with her lovely presence to tend to our 20 year old pup’s needs. We breathe a serene sigh of relief knowing Laura will be in our home attending to our dogs wants/needs. She is very delicate towards our pup and treats our home with the utmost care. Heather was an absolutely amazing sitter for our cat Lizzie. Lizzie has not had many sitters and she usually takes a while to warm up to new people but she was cuddling immediately because Heather has great energy and takes such good care of your pet. She's kind and caring, made sure to update us at every step along the way, took great pictures, and really showed our girl the kind of love and attention that all pets need when you're away! Everything was super easy and we would HIGHLY recommend Heather.
Brittany went above above above and beyond caring for my Juno! She took Juno on field trips, kept Juno engaged and close by her. She brought Juno on numerous fun walks to Audubon Park. She slept with Juno and bathed her and brushed her. She gave Juno all. of her medication for a rash. Juno just absolutely loved Brittany and I could tell Brittany really loved Juno. Brittany was amazing and I would highly recommend Brittany to other dog/pet owners. Juno is everything to me and I am so grateful to have found Brittany to stay in our home with my sweet Juno.
Madelyne did a wonderful job of caring for our home and cats. She went above and beyond the call of duty by taking extra measures to save some of our newly planted flowers.
