“EXCELLENT!!! My dog Charlie loved her so much. I needed her to come back later in the day after I came home, and he went crazy seeing her again lol. So I'll definitely use her again. She followed every detail and left my place just as clean as I left it. And she is SUPER sweet”

“Jennifer did such a great job taking care of our pup. He’s a big guy with a lot of personality, but she handled him very well. We received daily photos and updates on how he was doing, which put our minds at ease. Would 100% recommend her.”

“Abby was wonderful! Both of my dogs were exceptionally cared for. She kept me up-to-date while she was house sitting. She exceeded my expectations! I highly recommend Abby for your pet sitting needs!”

“If you need a house/dog sitter, look no further! Lauren was absolutely awesome. We have a 100lb Doberman who is very sweet but he is high energy and can be a lot to handle for people not used to large high energy dogs. Lauren took care of him with no issues at all while staying at our house for 5 nights. She gave him regular walks and spent a ton of time with him. She also was great at sending pictures and updates. Finally, she took great care of our house and respected our rules. She was great all around!”

About: I’ve taken care of kittens, Cats, Puppies, Dogs, even chickens. I have done it all. I am very reliable when it comes to dog walking, because I walk my dog every day. I have a French bulldog myself, his expertise, health, and happiness is one of my main priorities. I love animals and have been loving them ever since I was a little girl. I have a huge heart when it comes to them, they are the best for comfort, and deserve to be loved by everyone. They are just the most precious little babies ever! 🫶 I am mostly free in the mornings and in the afternoons. When ever I have the time I am always on a walk with my dog or at the park with him trying to get him the exercise he needs. Cause he is a little big for his breed and needs the exercise and and to be out of the house. As soon as I wake up I take my dog out for a walk. Then I fill up his bowl with food and his other with water. Then in the afternoon when I get done school I’ll take him out again. And lastly at night I take him out for the third time. Give him food and water. He is my #1 priority as always (: I try and play with him as much as I can during the day, but I’m a busy girl so I do my best!
“Mike was absolutely wonderful. He watched our pups in our home and I felt safe and stress free. My dogs were in such great care. They loved him... maybe a little too much! I would definitely book with him again.”

“Bri is incredibly communicative and provided thoughtful, caring updates about our baby. We are thankful to know her and enjoy her services. Our dog is our most treasured family member and she treats her as such.”

“Mariah was awesome! She sent me pictures of my pups daily. I felt so confident they were in good hands! She left my house clean. Like she was not even there. Thanks so much Mariah!!”

“Alexsis is so sweet and took awesome care of my puppy and cat while I was away! My pup was taken on walks, given lots of snuggles, and was happy/healthy when I got back. My cat mostly ignored Alexsis lol, but that is standard for her, and she was still well cared for. I’ll definitely be booking her again!”

“Abigail is great with our dog (also named Abigail). Our dog is a friendly girl, but she takes a while to warm up to people. Abigail took the time with her to build trust. Abby quickly warmed to her. We felt very comfortable leaving her in Abigail's care. She is great!”

About: I’ve been around dogs my entire life and have always had a special love for them. Growing up with dogs has taught me how to understand their different personalities, needs, and routines. I’m patient, caring, and dependable, and I treat every dog as if they were my own. Whether it’s going for walks, playing, giving belly rubs, or making sure they feel safe and comfortable, I truly enjoy spending time with dogs of all ages and sizes. I understand how important it is to trust the person caring for your pet, and I’m committed to providing reliable, loving care while you’re away. My goal is to make every dog feel happy, loved, and well cared for. I’m available Monday through Friday from 10 AM to 7 PM, and weekends from 11 AM to 8 PM for walks, visits, and loving pet care. I create a safe, trusted, and welcoming environment where dogs feel comfortable, loved, and cared for with patience, attention, and respect like they are family.

About: Hello! My name is Izzy, I’m 21 years old, and I’m going into my senior year at Penn State while working at Rita’s Italian Ice in Cranberry Twp. I’m so excited to start my Rover journey! I’ve grown up with having dogs in my household all my life, from a 4 1/2 lb. Chihuahua to a chunky Toy Fox Terrier to a mighty but loving Rottweiler-Black Lab mix. I’ve also been tasked with taking care of my neighbor’s and friend’s dogs over the years, whether that be stopping over to give them food, bathroom breaks, and cuddles, or even staying overnight over the span of a week so the dog(s) don’t feel alone. Therefore, I’m hoping to be the best fit for you, too! Outside of dogs, I love to be in our pool when the weather is warm and being able to do so with my family, pick up new crafting hobbies like scrapbooking or embroidery, and go to concerts of a variety of artists (43 concerts and counting!), most recently being 5 Seconds of Summer. I can’t wait to start this opportunity and hopefully bring some relief to someone in need of dog-helping needs! I’m currently working part-time at Rita’s Italian Ice in Cranberry Twp., and the schedule always fluctuates between 4-6 hour shifts. I don’t have set days, but I’m typically scheduled one weekday and the Friday-Sundays, However, I have plenty of time outside of those shifts and always accommodate around them to ensure that all the dog’s needs are met. At home, I assist in letting our dogs play in our fenced-in backyard, giving them treats when they’ve behaved or done a trick we’ve taught them (sit and “paw”), taking them on neighborhood walks when it’s nice outside, assuring that their food and water are filled, and playing with them to get their zoomies out before everyone starts winding down for the night. Outside of my home, if there is not a fenced-in backyard, I’ve taken the dog(s) outside on leashes for bathroom purposes, as well as do all actions mentioned above from what I do at home. Some houses have also had puppy pads when necessary, and I always take appropriate measures to clean up any messes and re-lay down a fresh puppy pad.
About: What sets me apart is my lifelong experience with dogs—I’ve never gone a day in my 19 years without one by my side. I understand their needs, personalities, and routines deeply. I’m skilled in caring for puppies, senior dogs, and everything in between, ensuring they feel loved, safe, and comfortable in my care. Pet care is seamlessly woven into my daily life, as I’ve always had dogs by my side. From early morning walks to consistent feeding schedules, playtime, and attentive care, I prioritize their well-being effortlessly. Caring for pets isn’t just a task for me—it’s a rewarding part of my routine that I genuinely love. I provide personalized care tailored to each pet’s unique needs, whether in my home or my client’s. In my home, I ensure a safe, clean, and welcoming environment with plenty of space for play and relaxation. When caring for pets in my client’s home, I follow their routines closely, maintaining a familiar and comforting atmosphere. From feeding and exercise to companionship and attention, I treat every pet like family.
“Ariele took wonderful care of our pup over a long weekend! She was friendly, communicative, tidy, and provided updates and photos throughout the stay. We will definitely rebook with her in the future!”

“Gabrielle took great care of our cats and was in constant communication with us about how they were doing, including cleaning up a plant that one had knocked over. She also sent lots of pictures which was appreciated.”

“Jacen did a fantastic job!!! We booked for 6 separate nights for stay overs at our house and everything went smoothly. Jacen is flexible and even watered our plants and took down some trash while we were gone. The cats were well taken care of and the communication was excellent. Highly recommend Jacen!”

“Thank you Katelyn for taking care of our sweet boy while we enjoyed our anniversary trip. We appreciated the updates, cute pics, and having someone to snuggle with Archie while we were gone. Appreciate your help! Archie looks forward to seeing you again sometime soon.”

“I cannot say enough about Corinne as she went above and beyond my expectations. She spent 10 days house and dog sitting. She sent me pictures of Tippy. She not only put clean sheets on the bed she laundered the sheets and towels. Corinne is friendly and you can tell she enjoys what she does. I would have her stay again.”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Mccandless
We had another wonderful experience! Amy previously took great care of our cat, and this weekend she watched our dog, Rusty. Rusty was so home happy, relaxed, and clearly well cared for when we came home to him! We really appreciated the updates, communication, and the genuine care they showed him. It’s such a relief knowing we have someone we can trust with both our pets. We highly recommend Amy and will definitely book again!

Mike did an amazing job dog sitting while we were on vacation. He even navigated a few unexpected challenges with our house including the smoke alarm going off and needing to reset the hot water heater. He was so thoughtful about our two small dogs, making sure, that in addition to walks, they had some sunbathing time in the backyard. He took such great care of them and that allowed us to enjoy our vacation. We highly recommend Mike!

We had such a wonderful experience with Kiara! She took amazing care of both of our pets—our cat Herbie and our dog Rusty—over the weekend, and we couldn’t be happier. She made sure Rusty got plenty of walks and attention, and it was clear from all the photos she sent that both of our pets were happy, relaxed, and well cared for. We really appreciated the constant updates—it gave us so much peace of mind while we were away. Having someone stay in our home can feel like a big step, but she made it incredibly easy for us to trust her. She was respectful, communicative, and clearly very experienced with animals. The best part was coming home to a very happy Rusty and a calm, content Herbie—it’s obvious they were in great hands the entire time. We would absolutely love to book her again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable, caring sitter! :)

Hannah was fantastic coming and staying with our pups. She was very open and made sure she knew all the directions. She took care of our girls and left our house looking nice and neat. She was very friendly , polite and gave great care to our dogs. We will definitely be using Hannah again to care for our pets.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Mccandless walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Mccandless maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Mccandless choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
