Tara truly is phenomenal. My puppy destroyed a few of the stimulation toys I left but Tara was ready to improvise with some snuff mats she generously let my doggies borrow. It’s such a relief to know my dogs are so well cared for when I am gone. Her photos are also pretty hilarious :D

Liza is patient, communicative and professional. Our dog is nervous to new people. She greeted him in a way that was appropriate and is building his confidence to trust her and enjoy his walks. She helped me to navigate this app. We feel grateful that Nochi has someone with experience, skill and empathy.

About: I’ve taken care of dogs since I was 15! I’ve had pets all my life growing up though! My neighbors, friends, and family, have relied on me to feed, walk, play, and give cuddles to their pups! I currently am working part time as I just started a new job, so i’ll have plenty of time to play with your pup and get them some exercise! My home has a fenced in dog park that i’m sure your dog would love to run around in and get some energy out! If your dog is better on a leash and loves to walk and sniff around your area I am happy to do that as well! I just want to be able to give your pup a safe and happy visit 😊

About: I've been looking after dogs and cats since I was 12! They've ranged from my grandma's shitzu to dog sitting mastiffs! I've even watched reptiles like ball pythons and geckos. I've walked, bathed, fed, watered, and loved them the whole time. I, myself, have 2 bunnies, fish, and a ball python. All together the most dogs I've ever watched at the same time was 28! It was 5 adults dogs, one puppy the equivalent to a toddler, and 22 puppies! I am willing to go to the cape and islands for house sitting! At the moment I'm hoping that pet care will become a full-time job. At the moment I am able to do any day and any time. I, sadly, do not have a cute puppy or kitty to play with your fur baby, however it just means they get more love from me! I can lift a 75 pound dog if needed and have the resources to contain one if necessary.

I can keep to the schedule you give me for your companion! I can give baths, play, feeding, and go on walks. I take lots of pictures and will update you on how the walk/sitting is going frequently. About: Hello, my name is Amanda! I’m an experienced and compassionate pet sitter with 10 years of hands-on experience caring for a wide variety of animals. I’ve worked with puppies, senior dogs, and large breeds, and I’m comfortable watching multiple dogs at once while making sure each pet gets the attention and care they need. I have experience administering oral medications, supporting dogs with special needs (including helping care for a blind dog), and adjusting care routines to fit each pet’s personality and abilities. Safety, patience, and clear communication are always my top priorities. In addition to dogs, I’ve also cared for cats and guinea pigs, so I’m happy to help out in multi-pet households. I am a dog groomer, which has strengthened my understanding of dog behavior, handling, and overall pet wellness. I am available most of the day. I am working as a dog groomer so when I am not working with a dog I am available for pet care! It easy to work my schedule around what a pet parent may need! I can easily crate your dog if needed. I will keep your animal in designated areas if directed to do so. I am comfortable walking any size dog or if you have a fenced in yard I can watch your dog there.

About: I have l had the responsibility of taking care of my home pets ever since I could remember. We’ve always had a full house with dogs, cats, turtles, lizards, guinea pigs, chickens, and even a macaw. I have experience with senior dogs that require extra care as I have one of my own. I have also taken a few puppy training classes that I have used on my dogs as well as pups of close friends. Most of my pets have been rescues and I was able to use those skills to break bad, destructive habits that could’ve resulted in injury. I am currently a full time college student and a part time medical assistant at an urgent care clinic. Typically, I would have the most time to commit to intensive pet care in the early mornings, early afternoons, late evenings, and weekends. My dogs are crate trained and my pets typically spend their nights in their designated areas. In the mornings everyone is opened, greeted with many pets and kisses, and fed. The dogs are walked and trained for a bit before my departure. I make sure to leave a few brain engaging toys/ treats while gone for the day. Once I return, the process is repeated with a longer evening walk and extra cuddle time. My senior dog required a bit more attention with daily injections and a specific diet. I am sure I would take care of your pet with the same care and love I give my pets.

About: I grew up with dogs and cats and currently have 3 spoiled cats and one spoiled bunny who thinks he’s a cat. My spouse is allergic to dogs so working with rover clients gives me a much needed pup fix! I have a very open schedule, especially in the summer. I love spending time outside and I love taking walks. I also don’t mind a couch potato pet. I can relate to that too. Whatever your pet needs, I am here for them. I will go above and beyond for your pets. Whether they need walks, feedings, snuggles or just some company, I am here for their care and your piece of mind.

About: I have been grooming, boarding and walking dogs professionally for 11 years. The best part of working with dogs is playtime and they will definitely get that here. I have three dogs that love to make new friends! Your pup will be provided with a safe and fun environment while you are away. Available seven days a week. I am a professional dog groomer and work from home. There is a six foot fenced in area for playtime or for just relaxing in the fresh air. I have dogs of my own that love to make new friends and play. If your dog requires quiet I also have an area for peacefulness.

Yes, you can find walkers who have experience with handling special pet needs in Mattapoisett. On Rover:

  • 94% of walkers can help with special care needs
  • 98% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 96% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
