“Pat provided excellent care for my two cats while I was away for the week. I have two senior cats, one with health conditions, and Pat picked up their routines easily and handled health-related litter box mishaps with patience and understanding. She also accommodated unexpected changes in my travel schedule and was great with communication throughout my trip. If you’re in need of dependable and thorough care for your cats, Pat is a great choice!”

“Danielle was amazing with our cat, Kinako! This was her first time being away from home, but it was very obvious from the pictures and updates that she was in great hands. It was also her first time being around so many other pets, but they were very sweet with her and she seemed surprisingly at ease :) We're excited to book with Danielle again whenever we're out of town!”

About: I have cared for pets throughout my life whether that was my own or friends and family’s. There was always a pet in my house growing up and I plan to always have a pet as I get older! I have a cat of my own and understand the importance of taking care of animals and making them feel comfortable and safe while their owner is away. I have 2/3 classes a day Monday-Thursday so I have a lot of free time. I would be more than happy to stop by anytime during weekdays as long as it works around my schedule as well (I’m very flexible). I have a cat who is very spoiled and has every treat, toy, bed, imaginable. She is not an outdoor cat (at least for now because I live near roads). I play with her for at least 30 min a day. Activity is VERY important in pets so I try my best with the time I have!
About: I have lifelong experience with pups of all kinds, having at least 2 in my household since I was a kid. I consistently care for my neighbor's and friend's dogs and always receive positive feedback! I also have plenty of experience with both puppies and senior dogs! Can care for cats as well! I'm a full-time college student, so my schedule varies day to day. I find plenty of time between and after classes where I can tend to your pups! I'm in an apartment so unfortunately I cannot take care of your pups at my home, only client's homes. However I am super flexible when it comes to your dogs needs and I can work around any obstacles or special preferences in your homes!
About: I have been taking care of my many pets (3 dogs and 3 cats) ever since I was a kid. I also have lots of pet sitting experience (walking dogs, cleaning litter boxes, giving medicines, etc.) I am a full time student, so I am primarily available in the mornings and evenings. Although, I am normally able to pop in for a lunch time visit because of the way my classes are scheduled. Weekends I am completely available. For dogs, I will either let them out or take them on walks (whatever is preferred), and also feed them on schedule. For cats I properly clean their littler boxes and feed them on schedule. If medicine needs to be administered, I can also do that. I will also spend some time playing with them. If there’s anything else that needs to be done, I can do it!
About: I bring along over 15 yrs of owning Pugs. I enjoy watching and walking my neighbors pets when they need an extra set of hands. I work only part time. I am available to do drop ins and walks. I can also feed and spend quality time with your fur baby..I will treat them as my own I will care for them in your home and the best to reassure they are cared for and loved. I can help with boarding if you have a need.
About: I have raised and trained my own Alaskan Malamute/German Shepherd mixed dog as a wonderful and unforgettable companion. I would love to share my experience and care with your furry companion as well. I work from home so I am glad to offer pet assistance and services often. I can also work from a laptop or my phone so I’m glad to travel and serve as I can. My Alaskan Malamute is an inside/outside dog. He enjoys his time on my front lawn via a simple shock collar and has free roam within my home.

About: I have experience caring for both dogs and cats and am comfortable with pets of different sizes, personalities, and energy levels. I have owned and cared for two different types of dogs, giving me hands-on experience with daily feeding, exercise, playtime, and general pet care. In addition to caring for my own pets, I have dog-sat for multiple families and have experience managing the needs of several dogs at once. I have also provided cat-sitting services, including feeding, litter box maintenance, and companionship. I am reliable, attentive, and committed to ensuring pets feel safe, comfortable, and well cared for while their owners are away. I have a part-time job with a flexible schedule, which allows me to dedicate plenty of time to pet care throughout the week. My schedule is very flexible, so I can accommodate feeding times, walks, playtime, medication schedules, and check-ins as needed. I enjoy spending time with animals and make it a priority to ensure they receive the attention, exercise, and care they need while their owners are away. I understand that every pet has unique needs and routines, and I always follow the owner’s instructions carefully. When caring for pets in a client’s home, I make sure they are fed on schedule, have fresh water, receive plenty of attention and exercise, and feel comfortable in their familiar environment. I prioritize safety by keeping doors and gates secure, monitoring pets closely during walks and playtime, and providing updates so owners can feel confident their pets are well cared for. My goal is to create a safe, stress-free experience for both pets and their owners.
About: I got my Golden Retriever in 2020, and she's been my best buddy ever since. Caring for an energetic 80-pound dog has taught me how to safely handle large dogs, provide plenty of exercise, and stay consistent with daily routines. My family and I walk her three times a day, so regular walks are already part of my daily life. Because she can be reactive around certain dogs, I've also learned to stay alert on walks, read canine body language, and calmly manage situations to keep everyone safe. I'll care for your dog with the same patience, attention, and love that I give my own. I’m a student at JMU who misses her own dog very much, so I’d love the opportunity to spend time with dogs in the area while helping out their owners! I have classes five days a week, but my schedule is flexible enough to fit in walks and drop-in visits throughout the week. Since I provide care in my clients' homes, I focus on keeping pets comfortable by following their normal routines for feeding, walks, playtime, fresh water, and any special instructions. I treat every pet as if they were my own and always respect my clients' homes by keeping them clean, secure, and exactly as I found them. As a pet owner myself, I know how reassuring it is to receive photos and updates while you're away, so I'll make sure to keep you informed and share pictures of your pet enjoying their time with me.
About: All my life I have cared for many different kinds of dogs. There was never a time when my family didn’t have atleast 3 dogs! I currently live on a farm with goats, bunnies, dogs and cats! I always make it a priority to walk my dogs as much as I can. I am very patient with my dogs and try my best to keep them trained while also having fun! Currently, my only commitments are within my graduate program, and I volunteer at a horse farm once a week. My weekends are completely free, as well as most of my mornings and early afternoons. All of my pets are so loved, and I will make sure your fur babies feel loved as well. I know how much a pet means to an owner, and I will make it my priority to give your pets the best care based on their needs and your wants!
“Fiona enjoyed spending her "vacation" with Kate! we came back to a happy cat and house that looked the same when we left. Plants are all alive and thriving. Kate is very reliable and respectful of our home and pet. I would definitely book her again!”

“Julia is a fantastic pet sitter, she took exceptional care of our cat. Julia kept us informed on how he was doing with email and pictures. I will definitely use her again and highly recommend her.”

This was my second time working with Pat, and she provided excellent care to my two senior cats once again. I especially appreciated how attentive she was to the cats' health, including closely monitoring a sprain that was still healing and noticing behavioral changes that led us to switch up their feeding routine mid-trip. Pat is great with communication and really works with you to ensure that your cats are as healthy and happy as they can be while you're away.

Annalise was THE perfect caretaker for our 3 “very different” kitties… 2 elderly and one youngster. I am so thankful to have found her! All instructions were followed to the letter… even with an ice cube in the water that’s a special treat they like. :) Great pictures were sent each visit to show them safe and loved. Our one little girl is on thyroid medication, which makes me a little anxious to leave her. My fears were calmed when I came home and saw each dose was documented the way I like it. Thank you, Annalise! My littles were perfectly calm and happy when I arrived home last night. ❤️

We have booked with Samantha multiple times now, and she is truly an amazing cat sitter! She takes wonderful care of Pumpkin, sends detailed updates with great photos, and follows all care instructions to a T. On our most recent trip, when there was a potential issue with our AC, Samantha went above and beyond to make sure Pumpkin stayed safe and comfortable. Knowing Pumpkin is in such caring, proactive hands gives us complete peace of mind while away. We will definitely be booking with Samantha again in the future and recommend you do the same if you are looking for a sitter!

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first .

Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
