“I got quick replies to my questions, received regular photos and status, and returned from my 8 day trip to a healthy, happy senior dog. Karmy gets my vote of confidence for her thoroughness and great communication.”

“Samantha is the best. She is so caring to our babies and detail-oriented. Our family is so happy to have found her and plan on utilizing her drop in services as much as she allows us to!”

“Lauren took wonderful care of our cats! She really went above and beyond. I am so relieved to know I can go away and trust that they'll be well cared for. Usually the cats are mad at me when I return from a trip but they were immediately friendly when I came home this time!”

“Estefani is the best! She was soooo sweet with my senior kitty. She is a great communicator and sent lovely updates each day. I felt so much better knowing she was looking after my cat. 10/10 would recommend!”

“Catherine was wonderful. She made me feel so at ease. She sent updates and photos at each visit. She was kind when I accidentally booked for the wrong time, and was flexible to return later even though it was clearly my error. Will definitely request to book with her again!”

About: I’ve cared for animals most of my life, with decades of hands-on experience, starting with gerbils and my first Siamese cat when I was nine. I’ve also had parakeets for several years. Friends and family have often relied on me for drop-in visits. I’ve always liked the different qualities animals bring, cats with their emotional honesty and dogs with their energy and engagement. I also notice how they relate to the world in their own ways, dogs tend to look for connection and interaction, cats move more on their own terms, and horses are often more tuned in to their surroundings and quick to respond when something feels off. Keeping that in mind helps me adjust my approach so each one feels comfortable and understood. As a young adult, I worked a couple summers in a dog kennel, where my interest in obedience, canine behavior, and training really took off and grew from there. I also spent several summers at horse camp early on, where I gained hands-on experience with horse care, handling, and stable routines. I’ve always enjoyed riding horseback, and still do when I can. Those early experiences shaped how I approach animals today. I’m naturally more at ease with animals, calm, steady, and patient, and I’m attentive to how they communicate and what they need. The first dogs I had of my own were a street-mix, Ringo, then a Giant Schnauzer and later a Husky mix, Harley, and in more recent years, my best buddy, Achy, was a Jack Russell Terrier. Caring for him through different stages of life deepened my understanding of attentive, consistent care. With my Schnauzer, Bella, I trained and competed in obedience, which gave me a strong appreciation for structure, consistency, and clear communication. Some of my animals were adopted, while others I raised from puppyhood, which gave me experience with both early training and supporting animals as they settle into new environments. I appreciate that each animal has its own personality, comfort level, and needs, especially when their routine changes, and I do my best to keep things as familiar and steady as possible. My experience includes: • Daily care, feeding, walks, play, companionship • Supporting anxious, sensitive, or high-energy pets • Keeping routines consistent • Reinforcing basic training and boundaries • Basic first aid for dogs and cats (minor wounds, claw injuries, and general care) • Grooming and brushing, including tick checks and removal (and basic hoof care for horses) • Care for small animals, birds and fish, including cage cleaning and basic aquarium upkeep I take a calm, patient approach and don’t rush interaction. I allow trust to build naturally so pets feel secure and comfortable while you’re away. I’m comfortable caring for dogs, cats, and small animals such as rodents, birds, and ferrets. At this time, I don’t offer care for reptiles or arachnids. I also have experience with horses from years of riding, and while it’s been some time, I’m comfortable assisting with basic care. At home, I currently care for a senior rescue cat, Aggy, which keeps me mindful of the extra patience and attention older animals often need. I’m comfortable with routine care such as eye drops, tablets, and grooming or brushing. For injections, IVs, or more advanced medical care, I recommend working with a veterinary professional. While I’m new to Rover, caring for animals has been a consistent part of my life. Your pet’s safety, comfort, and wellbeing are always my priority. I am self-employed and currently work part-time, which gives me flexibility in my daily and weekly schedule. I’m able to plan pet care around the needs of the pet owner and provide reliable, attentive care. I provide care in the pet owner’s home to keep things familiar and comfortable for the pet. My visits typically include up to four shorter potty breaks throughout the day, along with a longer walk and evening care. Overnight stays follow a consistent routine to support a sense of safety and stability, as both dogs and cats tend to feel more at ease with familiar patterns. During each visit, I make sure pets are fed, have fresh water, get appropriate exercise, and receive calm, attentive companionship. I follow care instructions closely, keep an eye on behavior and overall wellbeing, and provide regular photo and video updates so you can feel at ease while you’re away. I’m respectful of your home and routines, and I’m happy to take care of small details, such as watering houseplants, if requested.
About: I’ve been around dogs my whole life. I have been taking care of dogs of my own since I was able to walk and talk. I work hard and play harder with our furry friends! I am a fast learner, and can assist with training pups or taking care of senior dogs. My father is a veterinarian, so I was able to learn from him how to care for your pets. I attend James Madison University, so I will have classes with a varying schedule each weekday. I can stay full time at your home with your pets. I go to the gym, so I may be out for a short time to work out, but once I’m finished I’m right back at home with your pets! I have two dogs of my own. I feed/provide medication to them regularly (might go without saying) and I love to cuddle up with them on the floor and play with their toys with them. I’m very affectionate and will give your pets lots of attention and love.
About: I’ve been around pets for most of my life. Starting when I would take care of my family fishes when I was younger. Then, later, with our family dog, a tiny Maltese named Lucy! As of late, I’ve spent my time watching over my friends’ two kitties, as well as helping them with their dog sits when they need an extra hand! I am currently a full-time student at JMU. I have plenty of availability during the summer, and when the school year begins, weekday nights, and weekends! By being friendly and gentle, I hope to create a safe and fun atmosphere for your pet(s)! I am communicative and reliable, and will always make sure to give you updates and photos, so you can see how your pets are doing when you are away!

About: I have years of experience with dogs across all sizes, energy needs and care needs! I’m very fond of all critters and can’t wait to help you out! I’m working part-time over the summer and a fellowship (32 hrs/week) into the 26-27 year, but I’m very available to provide care— just send me a message! I respect the understanding that you’ve developed of your pet’s specific needs— give me a list, and it will be accomplished to a tee with care and enthusiasm!
“Lisa thank you so much for taking such good care of my fur babies. I don't trust just anyone to take care of them. They seemed very comfortable with you and that means so much to me. I will definitely recommend and use your services again in the future.”

“I recently had Sarah care for my two cats, while I was out of the country for 10 days, and she did a fantastic job. My cats are pretty easy to look after - just food, water, litter box, and a little playtime but she went above and beyond. When I returned, the cats were happy, relaxed, and clearly well cared for. Nothing in the house was disturbed, which shows they felt loved and secure. On top of that, Sarah was thoughtful enough to bring in my mail and even took the trash can in from the curb, which I really appreciated. I would absolutely recommend her to friends and will definitely book her again in the future!”

“Julia was so great to help me out with a last minute booking. She made me feel good about having to leave my guys. I received great photos and communication throughout my trip. I knew she was taking great care of my cats!”

About: I spent a lot of time with pets( mostly dogs) from taking care of close friends pets. With dogs I found better ways to behave them when they were with me, and considering I would take care of them a lot I managed to teach them tricks. I love spending time with animals of any kind. I had a cat when I was 13 and it was tricky because I got Lenny as an adult I would say. I learned how to manage litter boxes and the right food for both cat and dog. I do a lot of research when it comes to food so I know they have the right nutritions and I’m also skeptical when if comes or bagged food, so I do make my Own at times. I own 2 dogs now, one is a puppy and the other about a year and a half old. I’m also trying to save to go into MTC to study as a veterinarian to spend more time with animals. Taking care of pets fits in just perfectly. I currently have a part time job, but doing pet care on the side definitely helps balance my routine out and get some fresh air from working. In both client/my home, since I’m an early bird, I take them on walks to get them moving and give them time to potty, as I do with my dogs as well. I give them water and food, of course this varies on any directions given by the owner. They do get a lot of playtime and treats for good behavior. I make sure to let them potty at least every 2-3 hours out of habit from my pets.
“Chris was a breath of fresh air!!!! I've had some issues with college students, so to see stability, down to earth, maturity was comforting. She clearly loved my Addi girl when she came to meet her. She sent me pictures, and Addi was tuckered out from playing, which is a good sign! Chris will become a staple for us - I completely trust and feel comfortable with her taking care of our girl”

“These girls went above and beyond when I had some additional requests while I was away. I 1000% recommend them to anyone that is looking for someone that will take the time to treat your pets like their own. Will definitely be using them for more worry-free vacations.”
About: I’ve had six amazing dogs in my life, and before leaving for college, I cared for four all on my own—they were truly my pride and joy. Dogs have always been a huge part of my world, and even the shy or scared ones seem to find comfort with me. I once wanted to be a vet because of how much I love animals, but I realized I couldn’t handle seeing dogs in pain. That love now drives my passion for pet care. Whether it’s playtime, walks, or just some quality snuggles, I give every dog the same love and attention I’d give my own. I’m currently in college which only takes up some of my days, so I have plenty of free time during the day to care for your pups. My flexible schedule allows me to give them the attention, walks, and playtime they need to stay happy and loved while you’re away. Your dog’s safety and comfort are my top priorities. I create a calm, loving environment where dogs feel secure and cared for, whether they’re full of energy or a little shy. I always follow any instructions you provide closely and keep a close eye on your pup to ensure they’re happy, healthy, and stress-free. I treat every dog like my own, with lots of love, patience, and respect for their unique personality and needs. You can trust that your pup is in safe, caring hands with me.
About: I am a nurse in Harrisonburg looking to cure my puppy fever with helping take care of your pups! I’ve had dogs my whole life, I’ve raised puppies and helped with elderly dogs as well. I currently have an 8 year old pomapoo that I’ve had since she was 6 weeks old, she loves other animals and would do great socializing with your dog if your dog would enjoy that! I also have a 20 month old daughter who is literally obsessed with dogs! I would love to come walk your dog or play fetch then cuddle up on the couch with them for a few while your awhile, I’ll make sure their water and food bowl is full before I leave. I also would love you keep your dog while you are away, I’d let them snuggle on the couch with me and make sure they have atleast one walk a day, leaving you stressful on your days away! I work fulltime as a nurse manager which is Monday-Friday 8a-4p so every weekend and evening I’m off. Normally I take my daughter on a 3 mile walk/run which any dog could join us in that! I have a pomapoo and a toddler who love some dog company. I prefer a dog to be crated while I’m out of the house, but while I’m home they can play all through my apartment and go on walks as frequently as needed.
