“We contacted Karen about watching our dogs we while we went whale watching. She was very easy to work with and very accommodating. She had our dog from 1 pm until 8 pm. We met at a halfway point for drop off and she returned the dog to us at the port in downtown Bar Harbor. She could not have been more accommodating aa our boat was a little bit late getting back into port. She is very nice and seems to genuinely care about the animals she watches. She sent me pictures throughout the day and text message updates. I would definitely recommend Karen and I would use her again. You do not need to have any worries about leaving your pet in her care. Many of my clients are away for a weekend, a work trip, a vacation, or a longer stay in Maine. Whether you live here year-round, are visiting for the season, or are here temporarily, I help keep pets settled while their people are away. I’m especially comfortable with cats, senior pets, shy pets, multi-pet homes, and animals who need patience before they decide I’m acceptable. HOUSE SITTING / OVERNIGHT CARE Overnight care is limited and best suited for planned trips, established clients, and pets who need a steady routine. I keep care selective so pets stay comfortable and the house stays sane. Before booking, please share your pet’s routine, personality, medical needs, quirks, and anything they believe is legally theirs. DROP-IN VISITS Best for cats, dogs, small animals, chickens, and pets who prefer their own home and their own couch rules. Visits may include feeding, fresh water, litter, outdoor breaks, medications as instructed, basic tidy-up, and photo updates. Extended visits may be recommended for multiple pets, senior pets, or more involved routines. DOGGY DAY CARE Small-group day care is offered on a limited basis for dogs I already know. Care is calm, structured, supervised, and not a chaotic free-for-all. This is not a high-volume facility-style service. I plan my schedule intentionally to support well-defined care needs and clear timelines. This allows me to provide consistent, attentive care whether you’re traveling nearby or farther from home. Safety and consistency are always a priority. I follow established routines, respect household instructions, and pay close attention to changes in behavior, appetite, or comfort. Clear communication helps ensure a smooth experience while you’re away.

About: As a pet lover for my entire life, I am very open to who I will take in. I have taken care of my family’s dogs and cats. As well as friends’ pets as well. Not just our small pets. I worked on my family farm in the middle of Maine near Dover-Foxcroft. That included Horses, chickens, occasionally some cows and donkeys. I would love to take care of your pets for whenever you need me to. Just give me any details about them. Medical, whether they are in heat, spayed or neutered. I will be sure to accommodate accordingly. You can contact me via email, call, or text. For those who need service at their home, I would gladly organize that with you as well. Small, medium and large pets are all welcomed. As for cancellations and early pickups, I will do my best to be as flexible as I can. As this is for the pet, not the money. ❤️🐾 I currently work part time and I’m a mom of a little boy. I have pets of my own that I take care of on a daily basis. I have integrated my son into my pets lives and they’re all best friends. Being with animals has always been a major part of my life! Currently not offering in home services, or house sitting services. However, when checking in or walking pups I do make sure water bowl is filled if I notice it’s low and I make sure to bring a pop up water bowl on long walks in the summer.

We happened to be visiting Maine from Massachusetts and needed help at the very last minute for our whippet Cannoli and are so lucky to have found Nieves. Her place is tucked in the woods enough to have a peaceful vibe and I can't say enough nice things about Nieves. She was awesome about keeping in touch and letting us know how everything was going. She was really proactive which we loved. If either of us were closer to the other we'd be thrilled to see Nieves more often!!!”

About: I've always had dogs or cats as pets. I currently have 2 dogs now. Dashy is 16 year old Dashhound who was severely neglected and abandoned at 13 and Beau now 8 is a Rat Terrier mix adopted as a puppy. Both boys are very friendly, happy, healthy and quite spoiled. I also have my Pet CPR & First Aid cert from Red Cross as well as some behavioral training. I work best senior, handicapped and terminally ill pets though the fee may change depending of medical need. I'm retired and I have full daily availability from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. and some night time availability as well as overnights. I have a fenced/blocked back yard, another fur baby and plenty of room for them to play. Grass, gazebo and lawn Charis for them! The inside is spacious and safe for dogs and dog friendly cats.

About: We are an energetic family that love animals. We will make sure your animal is well looked after and receives the love it deserves ! I will be off this summer and will be home throughout the day to take care of your animals. We can also look after your animal over night. We live in a dead end neighborhood where there are not many cars that pass through. We will make sure there is always a set of eyes on your animal.
