“Randi was awesome! She sent me daily updates and the pups came home happy and healthy! We normally board at a kennel, and one of our dogs barks herself hoarse- I was happy to find that our female was much more comfortable in Randi’s home! We will be using her again!”

“Lupe and her family were wonderful to my dog Bruno. They took such great care of him and he’s not in. He’s not an easy dog. I recommend them highly. They were kind and considerate and I appreciate everything they did for my dog.”

“This was the first time we left our pup an extended stay and the meet and greet immediately put us at ease. Our pup made new furry friends and enjoyed his walks. He had no problem eating and came home happy and well cared for. We also appreciated the updates, even though we only had intermittent cell service while we were away. We'd definitely book again!”

“Minhhan has been wonderful with our senior Shih Tzu. Delilah has lots of anxiety and it takes time for her to feel comfortable around new people. Minhhan has been very patient with Delilah and Delilah has become very fond of Minhhan. We have already set it up another boarding appointment with her. You can definitely tell she is an animal lover and Delilah and our family are so happy to have found Minhhan.”

“I just got my fur babies back from Anais’s overnight stay. She was so kind and caring to them! They adjusted well, and I was really happy with how she took care of them and kept me in the loop. We’ll definitely recommend her as a sitter again and can confidently recommend her to other fur parents who need pet care.”

“Kathy was awesome with Sunny! It was our first away trip from Sunny and we were a bit nervous about leaving her. Kathy sent updates and pictures twice per day which included Sunny playing with her Labrador, Zeke (Sunny’s a Lab too) along with updates of her eating and sleeping well. All that really put my mind at ease while we were gone. We would definitely use Kathy’s service again and would highly recommend her. Great experience all the way around.”

“Very communicative, lots of updates/photos, noticed/notified me of every little behavior change which is all VERY appreciated because my dog is allergic to everything, can be reactive, and needs to stick to his routine”

About: My name is Destiny and I grew up caring for large and small dogs and cats. I have hands-on experience raising puppies and kittens from birth through adulthood. As an adult, I continue to care for both cats and dogs, including adopted shelter cats and my own Labrador Retriever and Standard Poodle. Both of my dogs are neutered, gentle and affectionate. My Standard Poodle loves to run and play and can be wonderfully bouncy, but he's also surprisingly nurturing and likes to make sure everyone is okay. My Labrador is basically Eeyore from Winnie the Pooh—a lovely potato who is particularly drawn to wee, scrappy dogs. I actively study canine behavior and learning. I train and participate in dog sports including obedience, scent work/nose work, agility, Barn Hunt and NASDA. I'm comfortable observing canine body language, following established training and management routines, providing enrichment, and adapting my approach to the individual dog. Most importantly, I genuinely enjoy getting to know animals as individuals. I don't expect every dog or cat to immediately love me, and I don't force interaction. I believe comprehensive care starts with paying attention to what makes an animal feel safe, comfortable and understood. I work from home with a flexible schedule and control over my own hours, which gives me plenty of time to incorporate walks, play, enrichment, meals, potty breaks and companionship throughout the day. Our household is unusually quiet and relaxed. There are no children in the home, and my neighborhood is a peaceful residential area that's well suited to walks and downtime. Pets staying with me have opportunities for activity and engagement, but also plenty of time and space to settle, nap and simply relax. Because I'm home much of the day, pet care fits naturally into my routine rather than having to be squeezed in around a long commute or rigid work schedule. I believe pet care starts with understanding the *individual* animal. I take time to learn each pet's normal routine, temperament, preferences, training cues, feeding needs and anything that may make them uncomfortable or stressed. My approach is calm, patient and attentive. I don't force interactions, and I pay close attention to body language and changes in behavior. I follow owners' established routines and management instructions carefully because consistency can make being away from home much easier for a pet. My home is clean, quiet, child-free and low-stress, in a peaceful residential neighborhood. I want visiting pets to have a comfortable place where they can play and engage when they want to, but can also settle and rest without constant activity, noise or disruption. When caring for pets in their own homes, I bring the same approach: respect the animal's familiar environment, follow the household's routines carefully, communicate reliably with the owner, and leave things exactly as I found them.
“My anxious puppy stayed with Marya over night and did really well with their family and seemed happy when I picked him up. He also got to socialize with other dogs, which was good for exposure. Marya was very communicative and sent lots of photos and videos. Will definitely use this service again in the future.”

“Ceudi and her wonderful family were great sitters for our senior Boxer (11yr). She was attentive to his medical needs (medicine and care) and stubborn habits. She sent daily updates and always responded quickly to our messages. She lives in a nice neighborhood with a large park nearby. We will definitely be reaching out to her for our future sitting needs.”

“Carrie is the best! She always treats my pup like her own and makes him feel right at home. I appreciate her daily comments and photos. She is my #1 go to when I need a Rover sitter.”

“Joseph and Marikris came through on a last-minute reservation and provided exceptional levels of care for my special needs dog. My dog Daisy had been recently diagnosed with IVDD and I was prepared to cancel my trip, but Marikris assured me of her professional veterinary background and familiarity with the condition, and I felt confident trusting J&M with her care. Daisy looked so happy in all the photos they shared, and I feel truly blessed to have found such kind and attentive neighbors to care for my girl. Thank you so much Joseph & Marikris, you guys are amazing and I look forward to working together again 🙌”

“Alexandra was very good to our Charlie. She sent us pictures of him playing with the other dogs. We could tell he was having a great time! We will definitely have Alexandra watch him again.”

“Briana was a WONDERDUL and attentive sitter. She sent pictures and updates about my dog throughout her stay. Communication was excellent and she provided me with the cutest report card of how my dog behaved while in her care. I would DEFINATELY recommend Briana to others and will definitely request her in the future!”

“Sabrina was great! We were a last minute booking and she made the whole process of boarding Piper a breeze. From the start she inspired great confidence because of her years of experience with animal care and her obvious love of them. Piper had a great weekend relaxing at her house. We got pictures and texts daily. Highly recommend Sabrina!”

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Every sitter on Rover has their own routine. Depending on the arrangements you agree on before the stay, a sitter can follow your dog’s regular feeding schedule, provide a comfortable place to sleep, offer companionship, and support their usual exercise and play needs.
Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, daily exercise may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.
During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.
Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Maine Prairie home-away-from-home, packing:
- Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Maine Prairie.
Tip: You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.
You and your Maine Prairie sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in CA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
