“Oh my goodness Kim is a phenomenal cat sitter!! We came back from a 6 day trip and our picky senior cats acted like we’d never been gone. She sent great pics of them each day so I could see all the love and attention they were getting. Kim was also kind enough to handle mail and packages, and even left us a lovely welcome home treat. We’ve had mixed experiences with others in the past and it’s comforting to find someone who treats your pets and home so thoughtfully. So glad we found her!”

About: Hi we are Don and Bobbi! We both have grown up around dogs our entire lives and have always been passionate about caring for animals. Between our families, we’ve had many dogs and cats over the years, giving us experience with pets of different ages, sizes, and personalities. Today, we have two dogs and a cat of our own and understand the importance of providing pets with love, attention, exercise, and a safe environment. We’ve also pet sat for friends and family and have enjoyed getting to know and care for their pets as if they were our own. We decided to join Rover because we love spending time with animals and thought it would be a fun way to help other pet owners feel confident that their pets are receiving excellent care while they’re away. We understand our profile is new with no reviews but we promise to provide exceptional care and hope to show that through reviews as we get settled on this app! Bobbi works from home Monday-Friday and Don works from home Monday and Friday. Someone will always be home to care for your animals! Our flexible schedules allow pet care to be a priority. We have a massive yard for the dogs to run around and are constantly going on leashed walks near our house. Our house is their house and we are happy to play with your pup as much as they need!
“Taylynn is absolutely wonderful! Loving, punctual, and very attentive to details. You can tell she truly cares and is focused on making sure pets feel safe, comfortable, and happy. 🐾❤️”

“Carleen was so attentive to our three puppies. The pictures she sent truly showed how she cared for them during our vacation. It was so nice to know that they were so well cared for in our home.”

About: I have had dogs since childhood! “Puppy” love can change any attitude! A little TLC for your fur babies is what I can provide for you. I work remotely so pretty flexible on time. Feeding, walking, playing all in a days work. I find that a little animal break in my day make me more productive. Our 3 large dogs use doggy door but the little ones have to be let out. We walk our dogs every morning and throw balls ever afternoon.
“One day I was fine, the next day I started a twelve-day stay in the Critical Care Unit of a major teaching hospital. I contacted Haley—I had never used her before, who stepped into 3-a-day visits to take care of Douglas for the duration of my hospial stay. I reeceived daily reports, but also she communicated with my friends so I could completely concentrate my efforts on healing. I feel she was part of the team that saved my life.”

About: Animals have been part of my life for as long as I can remember. I grew up with them and can't imagine life without them. Twice a week I volunteer at a local dog rescue, which keeps me sharp on handling dogs of all ages, temperments, and needs. I also share my home with cats, so I understand feline routines and personalities just as well as I do dogs. From playful puppies and kittens to gentle seniors who need a little extra patience, I am able to offer an energetic walk or a calm, reassuring visit to your pet's day. I bring genuine love, attentiveness, and real hands-on experience to every walk and drop-in. Pet care fits naturally into my weekly routine. I have a consistent schedule and enjoy planning my days around the pets I am caring for. I volunteer at a dog rescue on Monday and Friday mornings and have a few standing commitments on Tuesday and Wednesday mornings. Outside of those times, I have a flexible schedule and am committed to maintaining each pet's individual or household routines. I am very reliable, thrive with structure, and always make sure the pets in my care receive the attention and consistency they deserve. I believe pets thrive with a consistent routine and am able to follow instructions closely for feeding, litter box cleaning, walks, medications, brushing, and any other custom and daily care. I also pay close attention to each pet's behavior and body language so I am able to recognize when something seems out of character or when they need a different approach, committing to always notify the owner for follow up. I never force interactions or activities- for example, if a dog is not interested in a walk, I will adjust and find an alternative way to keep them engaged and comfortable. Above all, I prioritize a clean, safe, and low-stress environment where both cats and dogs feel secure and well cared for.

About: Hello! I've had dogs my entire life! I love dogs and have two of my own. Lolo is an 8-year-old, blind Cocker Spaniel. Roo is a 4-year-old, Maltese/Lhasa Apso mix. I've raised my dogs since they were puppies. My house is kid and dog-friendly. My dogs lay on the couch and sleep with me. I have a fenced backyard and supervise my dogs outside. My two sons are 14 and 11. They live with me half of the week and love meeting and taking care of dogs. When they are gone, I appreciate the companionship of furry friends. I don't go out at night so your pet will have lots of evening attention. I live in a safe neighborhood with an easy, low-traffic walking route. I understand how important it is to have a trusted person watch my pets when I'm away and will be happy to love on yours. I am a school counselor in Henrico County. I am available for boarding and drop-ins Fridays after 4 until Sunday night. If you are comfortable with your dog boarding during my work days, I'm happy to talk to you more about it. I have a fenced-back yard and two dogs of my own. If your dog is timid, I can keep the dogs separated. If your dog loves furry company, it can join our crew throughout the house. My dogs sleep in my bedroom and I'm not opposed to dogs in my bed. I have a mudroom roomy enough for a crate, if your dog would prefer to sleep alone. I am willing to go to a client's house for pet care and walks throughout the day. I can take your dog to the dog park, if you'd like. Does your dog like to fetch? I would be happy to play with him/her.
“This was our first time using Rover. Riley was helpful in explaining how it worked. She watched our cat for several visits for two days. For each visit she sent information on how the visit went. Unfortunately our kitty would run and hide after greeting her so she couldn’t get many pictures. She even went and found him and sat trying to convince him to come out! He ate well during her visits and she was kind to clean up the dirty cat bowls each time! It’s also very comforting knowing Riley has experience working in a vet clinic.”

About: I have a French bulldog that I love so much. I have enjoyed pet sitting for other families during the summers as well as walking dogs. I will love your pup like my own. I am happy to help in the evenings at night during the week. On the weekends and during the summer I will have more availability. I will follow all instructions from the client. I am happy to stay and play with the pup or take them on walks and go potty.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
