About: I’ve had lots of experience with pets! I grew up with a Dachshund and an English Setter. A few years ago my mom bred her dachshund and I got one of the puppies. Shortly after that my husbands parents did the same with their Australian Shepherd, and we got one of those puppies as well. Such an amazing experience!! Since then we’ve gone to puppy training classes and have found about every trail around the Mankato area with our pups. We both come from dog loving families who continue to add more to their households…while we may not be ready for another dog quite yet, taking care of your fur babies would be such a reward!! I am a teacher so I have my summers off which means lots of free time to fit in walks & potty breaks. Once school starts up again, I still have most evenings and weekends available too. I have a leash out back to let our dogs out on and a patio area to hang out with them while they’re outside. I have 2 dogs that would love to make fur friends and I believe socializing them is important. However, I understand all dogs are different. My dogs are kennel trained for anytime another dog (or human) may not be comfortable with that yet. We keep them in a certain area of the house we’ve designated as the “dog room” for when we leave the house.

About: I have taken care of many dogs in my life. I grew up begging my parents for a dog. I had a chocolate lab and two Maltese dogs! I love playing as well as taking care of dogs. About: I’ve had my dog Zelda for eight years now. Still, each day is just as fun as the last. Her personality is never a challenge, and I love to play with her and take her on walks. My extended family also has many dogs I grew up with, so I am experienced with different types of dogs. I typically have free time in the mornings, as well as in the afternoon. Very willing to be flexible. My weekends are almost always open during the day; and that would be the best time for me to do longer days of care rather than just a couple hours of watching your pet. When I am not at school I have more flexibility during weekdays. In my home, my yard is not fenced, so Zelda is usually on a handheld leash (for quick outside time) or on a long leash (usually tied to the ground) when she wants to do her own thing. I always am supervising her outside to ensure her safety. I am very willing to adapt to different ways of having your dog be outside, as long as I am informed of them beforehand. When inside I always keep a close eye on my dog, as she tends to get into trouble here and there. I always make sure I have toys on hand, as well as treats. Whenever I am taking care of a dog I always try to make sure they are as comfortable as possible.

About: I have a cat who I’ve had for 4 years. I have always had a passion for animals and try my best to be in tune to their languages. I currently own one cat, which requires pilling. If you have a pet that needs a gentle and loving sitter, or even someone to play and keep them stimulated, then I would love to take care of them! I am currently working full-time as a social worker and I am available from 6pm to 10pm Monday through Friday, and 24/7 availability on weekends. I try to let the kitties/puppies take the lead within reason. I like to try to engage them and play, but I will be gentle and calming if they are showing signs of stress. I’m very observant with body language and try to accommodate for them while still maintaining structure.

I also have a pet turtle, whom I’ve lived with for 20+ years. I am a graduate student at MNSU, but aside from 3 in-person classes during fall and spring semesters my schedule is flexible. I have a car, so I can travel to you. I can adapt to however you take care of your fur baby. I like to go on hikes and play catch with dogs. I’m also down for quiet time with a cat. Whatever works.
