About: I’m recently retired and have had dogs all my life, since being 7 years old. I had to put my last fur baby to sleep in January 2026 and will be traveling over the next few years so don’t want to get another right now, and really miss having a doggo around! I used Rover quite a bit when I had dogs so would love to pay it forward and help someone else. Plus then I hopefully will get my fix of dogs! I’m currently very flexible, having just retired. I usually walk first thing in the morning and then after dinner with our British lab, Lilly. Live in Madison Lake but willing to drive to Mankato or St. Peter, for pet sitting or dog walking. We have a great home for dogs, so am happy to do pet sitting in our home too. We have a small British lab but she is not in the house much; she is a sweet, lover dog that prefers to hang outside in her luxury kennel outside. We walk her twice daily, and she gets along with all dogs we meet.
“If 10 stars was an option I’d give 10, but 5 will have to do. This was our first time booking with Rover and I could not be more happy. We hit the jackpot with Elsie. She was great at communicating and sent lots of pictures! Absolutely love that we can have someone care so well for our pup in the comfort of his own home!”

“Hannah was wonderful with our 2 big dogs, she sent updates and pictures everyday. It made it easier to be away from my fur babies knowing they were in good hands! 100% recommend Hannah!”

About: I’ve been surrounded by animals my entire life and grew up in a home that regularly fostered both cats and dogs, which gave me experience with pets of all ages, personalities, and needs. That background taught me how to be patient, adaptable, and attentive especially with animals who may need a little extra time to feel comfortable. I stay active by walking and running with my neighbors’ dogs, so I’m very comfortable handling different energy levels and making sure pets get the exercise they need. At the same time, I truly love the quieter side of pet care too, providing plenty of affection, attention, and cuddles so they feel safe and loved. Caring for animals has always been a natural part of my life, and I treat every pet like they’re my own. I work part-time, which gives me plenty of flexibility, especially in the mornings and later afternoons. I intentionally keep my schedule open so I can be available to provide reliable, attentive care for your pets. Whether you need regular visits or occasional help, I’m happy to work around your needs and make sure your furry family members are well taken care of! Your pet’s safety, comfort, and happiness are always my top priorities. No matter the service you choose, you can expect dependable, high quality care and plenty of love. For drop-in visits, I tailor each visit to your pet’s unique personality whether that means energetic play, gentle attention, or a calm, reassuring presence. My goal is always to create a stress free, safe environment where your pet feels completely comfortable and cared for.

About: Hi! My name is Sage and I specialize in animal caretaking and welfare. I have lived my entire life with at least one animal in the house and I have been dog sitting on and off since high school. I am certified in three years of dog training and currently live with my lovely cat, London. I’ve never met a pet that I haven’t loved, and past employers would describe me as dependable, easy-going, and kind. Now that I am starting school again, my hours of availability have become a bit slim. However, my weekends are entirely open, and I have enough time between classes to provide service to any animal who needs my attention. In my home, I live with my cat London, and four other housemates. If your animal stayed with me, they would never feel alone and would always have somebody in the house that can watch them or be there for all their needs. We have a lovely backyard full of grass, a back deck for lounging and sunbathing and a large neighborhood for daily walks. Your pet would feel like a king or queen in a castle! :)

About: I’ve taken care of a variety of pets since I was 8, whether that be dogs, cats, rabbits, tortoises, etc! I have adopted two dogs in my adult years, which has been incredibly fulfilling. I have taken extra measures when it comes to their training and have taught them both verbal commands and some sign language. I am a nurse in memory care and my dog loves to join me on short days and has adapted incredibly to the environment. If your dog loves to play and enjoys being with other dogs, my dog would love that too! I look forward to caring for and loving on your pups! I currently work in office two days a week and work from home the remaining three business days. I find myself with some free time M-W and occasionally on the weekends. I would love to dedicate some of my free time to your pups! The more instructions I can be given, the better! I want to be sure I am doing my absolute best for your pet and I will always take the chance to go above and beyond.
About: Pets have always been a meaningful part of my life. I recently lost my childhood dog, Sophee, and her absence has reminded me just how much joy and companionship animals bring. With years of experience caring for dogs, cats, and even a variety of farm animals, I’m confident in my ability to provide attentive, loving care. I’d be honored to help make your busy schedule a little easier by ensuring your pet gets the attention, comfort, and care they deserve. I just graduated from Gustavus and am working a few jobs this summer to help me pay for my graduate school this coming fall! I work a restaurant job, so typically I’m only available before 4, or after 4, and I only know less than a week ahead. Despite this, I'm committed to making it workout with you and whatever pet you may have! Whether I’m caring for pets in my home or yours, their safety and comfort are always my top priorities. I take time to understand each pet’s routine, preferences, and any specific needs they may have. In your home, I aim to keep their environment as familiar and stress-free as possible by sticking to their usual schedule and respecting your space. I also prioritize secure leash handling during walks and double-check doors and gates to prevent escapes. I treat every pet like my own—with patience, attentiveness, and plenty of love.
“Elena has been a very responsible and caring and pays attention to safety and details. My dog Ariel gets super excited when she hears and sees Elena. I hope to keep Elena paired with Ariel for a long time to come.”

About: I have worked at my local dog daycare and have experience outside of taking care of my own animals growing up. I have also pet-sat dogs before for family members and friends. I am using this as my only job, and don't have any other priorities besides being a student. I don't have any classes I have to go to; they are all online, so I will have a free schedule. I have a yard that your pets will be able to play and no other animals live in my home. I always prioritize safety, following feeding instructions, walk routines, and home rules closely. In a client’s home, I’m respectful, clean, and ensure pets are calm, well-cared for, and not left alone.

I am available Tuesday and Thursday to exercise and spoil your fur baby! I love taking dogs for walks but I wouldn’t mind dog sitting either. Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
