“Mae is the bomb! I think my animals really like them, and I definitely appreciate their support. They have been caring for my babies for going on 3 weeks, 4 days a week and it’s a godsend for my busy schedule. They are super bubbly and sweet, keep on top of communication, and follow instructions to a T. My neighbors see them all the time and always tell me how much they like Mae and how friendly they are. Plus, they take really good pictures. Highly recommend.”

“Niah was a great sitter! She was kind and enthusiastic at the our meet and greet. I knew my cats would be taken great care of and felt very comfortable leaving them in her care. Also had some last minute travel changes and was easy to contact and flexible which was appreciated. Would work again with Niah!”

About: I've loved dogs and cats since a young age. As I've grown older, my responsibilities have included feeding, walking, playing and even cleaning up after of various breeds of dogs and cats. I am capable of providing medication and other special care for your pets. I believe pets are family and I will treat your animals as my family. I am a kind, caring individual who will go above and beyond for your furbaby. At this time, I have a full time job, Hence house-sitting for low maintenance animals is primarily what I can provide. I look forward to helping you out Unfortunately, my current living situation prevents me from accommodatimg more dogs or cats. Although, animals in aquariums are welcome and will be treated with love.
“It’s much easier to leave my dog and cat when I know Jamie will be caring for them. His reports are always detailed and reassuring. Our pets are not easy, our dog has a lot of energy, and our cat requires twice daily medication. But for Jamie it’s no problem. When I come home I’m always greeted with calm and happy pets.”

About: I’ve had dogs since I was 8, and I’ve always loved being around animals! I’ll treat your pets like my own and make sure they get plenty of love, attention, playtime, and cuddles. I’m currently between jobs, so I have a flexible schedule and plenty of time to give your furry friends the love, attention, and care they deserve! I can be flexible with walks, visits, and playtime to help keep your pets happy and comfortable while you’re away. I make sure every pet feels safe, comfortable, and loved in their own environment. I’ll stick to their normal routine for feeding, walks, playtime, and potty breaks, while giving them plenty of attention and affection.
“Jennifer did a great job taking care of my cat. I was out of town for a few days and needed someone to check in on my cat while I was gone. Jennifer was quick with her communications, friendly, caring, and easy to work with. I'm very happy with the experience and would definitely ask her to look after my cat again!”

“We felt great peace of mind leaving our kitties in Caitlin’s care! Our girls seemed to warm up to Caitlin right away, and Caitlin was very communicative with how our girls were doing/took great photos. We’ll definitely want to rebook for future trips!”

About: I have cared for dogs my whole life - from my own to those of neighbors and family friends. I am able to care for young puppies to those of a more senior age. I work at a restaurant so have a somewhat flexible schedule. I can do drop ins, overnights, and walks. I would love to help your pet get the care they need! I care for each and every pet like they are my own. First and foremost I will prioritize their safety, and your wishes as the pet parent!

“Olivia took great care of my cat while I was gone. She was very easy to book with, kept me up-to-date, and even got my shy and sometimes stubborn cat to take her medicine. I will definitely be booking with Olivia again in the future when I go out of town.”

About: I have taken care of pets of various types for more than 20 years. I have cared for family, friends, and colleagues' pets. I have experience caring for dogs, cats, birds, fish, hamsters, and guinea pigs. I currently work from home, so I have plenty of time to play with your pups. I am generally available every day of the week mornings and evenings are fine. I live in a large one bedroom apartment with plenty of room for your pups to play around. The back half of my building is fenced and isolated, the front half of the building is not fenced. There is a pet washing station in my building. There are several parks within walking distance, the outside can be easily accessed from my apartment to take your pets out for potty breaks and play. Dogs over 60lbs or unneutered animals will be a little extra fee.

About: I'm 31 years old and have been taking care of cats and dogs since I was a teenager. Not necessarily in a professional setting, but I have years of experience pet sitting for my friends and family. Walking, bathing/grooming, training, administering medicine, etc - I can do it all. I currently have 1 dog and 1 cat of my own + tons of extra love/time on my hands during the week for your fur family. Ask me anything, I'm an open book! I have the most availability Saturday/Sunday evenings and Monday - Friday in the afternoons between 3 PM - 8 PM. There are a few week day mornings that I will have available starting at 8 AM (depending on when I get scheduled to work my other job) I live a block away from Tower Grove Park and will happily take dogs there to get some steps in! I have a backyard that is not fenced in, so they will be leashed if taken out back to go potty. There is a large crate here if that's ever needed. They are welcome to lay on my couch and bed, but there is a dog bed available as well + plenty of toys for them to chew and feel right at home with.
“Brianna was great! She did drop-in visits with our dog, Mason. She connect with Mason right away, and was communicative and timely. She sent great pics of Mason. We would definitely book Brianna again.”

About: I have been active with Leaderdogs for the blind organization as a puppy raiser. They provide extensive training and mentoring to care for a future leader dog puppy. Much of this advanced training has helped me bond with and care for puppies of all ages! I have been developing my perception of the world through "canine eyes". This means that I'm able to provide fun experiences tailored to each pup. I am used to having a service animal in training with me throughout the day, everyday. It brings me great joy to have a dog around. It's not uncommon for a curious pup to want to interact with me during daily actives. I encourage this in a safe, supervised way. Because there are no other pets in the house, it reduces the chance for conflicts. There is a fenced in backyard to run, play and sniff! Your pup may or may not have challenges with children. There are no children at this residence.
“Samantha was very communicative about what my boys were up to while I was away. She also was able to fit me into her schedule on a late notice. This was the first time I left my cats at home and didn't have my mom watch them with an asthmatic cat and I was not worried at all. She's the best!”

About: I've been hanging out with animals all my life; taking care of others' animal babies for close to a decade. No mess is too gnarly; I've popped pills and dispensed hairball meds. Love a long neighborhood walk or a long snuggle. Let me help take care of your fur babies! I do not have pets of my own; I much prefer being the fun pet aunt! I have siblings and close friends with dogs and cats, who I've spent a lot of time with and pet sit often. I'm flexible! Not having my own pets also means I have plenty of time and energy to spend with yours. I work full time M-F, but most weeks I work from home 3 days a week, and that can be your home with your fur baby. Whether I'm popping in for a walk or a potty break or spending several nights with your fur baby, they will be my priority. I love a long neighborhood walk, snuggles, and will take the time to play. Let me know if your pet has any special needs or routine, and I will be sure to keep things consistent. I'll work with you to be sure I understand your pupper or kitten's daily and weekly routine--feeding times, exercise needs, medications, and any other necessities.
“I would highly recommend Morgan to anyone! She came over beforehand to get acquainted with our pups, and sent us tons of photos and videos while we were gone. We could tell our pets were loved on and well taken care of. She was great with communication before and during her scheduled visits. If we ever need a sitter again, we will definitely rebook with Morgan!”

About: *insured and have a business outside of Rover. Look up entailed adventures. **I’m mostly just trying to use the app to reach more people. We have been in business for a year, but been doing this for friends family for many years prior. Whether you are busy pet parent or just needing a bit of help here and there, I take care of most animals: dogs, cats, reptiles, birds, etc… I’ve had a pet care service for almost a year but I have years of experience taking care of animals for 8. I’m currently working full time, but I am working on being able to do this full time. I will keep my calendar updated to match my schedule at work until I can do this full time. I house sit at the clients home. If you do not have a fence, I will walk the pet long enough so they can get some enjoyment. I will clean as I go and it will either look as good as it did or better when you come back.

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Lovejoy
Deyna took excellent care of our cat, Zuni, by checking in several times a day while we were away. She was always on time for each visit, and not only fed my baby, but gave her her medicine as well. And she of course, gave my baby love with rubs and pets! Deyna is friendly, responds to messages quickly, and shared tons of pictures of my cat during each visit. She is a pleasure to work with, especially given the fact that my travel plans changed a few times and she was always kind about it and accommodating. I told her I would arrive back home on Sunday afternoon and she still told me that she would be available to feed my cat midday or in the evening if I needed it. She’s so helpful! I definitely recommend her to others in need of pet sitting!

Keena has been fantastic with watching my two dogs! She has been able to care for them last minute and consistently provides updates, asks questions about food, routine, etc., and has been quick to let me know if any issues come up. I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for an excellent and attentive dog sitter!

You and your sitter can agree on a care schedule that fits your pet’s routine and the sitter’s availability. Pet Sitting can be booked as a one-time or recurring drop-in visit. If you need overnight care or dog walks, you may also be able to book House Sitting or Dog Walking through Rover with the same sitter, provided they offer those services.
Before booking, confirm:
- the timing, length, and frequency of visits;
- the care instructions the sitter should follow;
- which parts of your pet’s usual routine should be prioritized;
- how often you would like to receive messages, photos, or other updates.
Not every sitter offers the same services, availability, or booking options. Review their profile and discuss the care you need through Rover before booking each service.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee, which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first Meet & Greet.
sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.
Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means you will get a full refund and our support team will work with you to find a replacement sitter.
