Garth and Tracy were amazing! We were in the area for a family reunion and were struggling with what to do with our puppy for a large part of the day. Garth and Tracy were kind enough to accept a next day booking for us and did a wonderful job caring for Gus. He seemed very happy when we picked him up and we were so relieved to be able to leave Gus somewhere where we did not need to worry about him at all. If we ever find ourselves back in the area or have friends/family that need help with their dog nearby, Garth and Tracy will be our first choice.

We love Emily and Jim! They treat my dog as one of their own and my dog loves going to spend the day with them and their family. I leave my dog with them knowing she is safe, in good hands, having fun, and getting plenty of attention. They are also great at giving updates and taking pics. Emily and Jim are both exceptional and trustworthy. We would recommend them to anyone!!

Our dog, Bella, comes home happy from Bethany's house. She gets some quality time and play with other dogs and with children. She doesn't get that at home with two old people. Thank you, Bethany!

About: Private dog care insurance for added peace of mind when in my care. Your dog will be treated like family in our dog friendly home. You can be assured your pups will be safe and happy with me! I only board one family’s dog or dogs at a time so your pet or pets will have my complete focus. I am an experienced dog sitter and walker. I also do drop in visits and I’m happy to help get your dog out for a walk if work or a busy schedule requires some help to get your dog or dogs out for a break during the day. I’m an active retiree and I’m home full time to give your dog the care they need. They will be allowed ample playtime and multiple walks in a safe environment. I have a fully fenced in backyard and dogs will be supervised when playing outside. I’m attentive to the needs of the dogs under my care whether in my home or your home. I am fully insured through pet care insurance. Housesitting consists of one twelve hour overnight period and either one 60 minute drop in visit or if you prefer 2 30 minute drop in visits during the day. If your dog requires constant care beyond this schedule there is an additional hourly fee.

Ashlee was amazing!!! Murphy has a hard time adjusting to new people and surroundings, and she really took the time to get him acclimated and was patient with him. She kept me up to date with how he was doing, eating, and using the restroom. She has a great setup for the dogs and genuinely cares for them all so much. I’ll happily book with Ashlee for any future needs :)

Jodie is wonderful! We left our 10 month old Lucy with her for an afternoon to make sure everyone (people and dogs) was compatible before leaving Lucy for a week in July. Lucy had a great time and everyone got along really well. Jodie was very caring and interested in getting to know Lucy. We will definitely use her again!

About: I’ve taken care of all types of animals all my life. Grew up on a farm locally and cared for every animal you can imagine. I’m a recently retired educator with a huge heart. I have a safe and clean home and a fenced in back yard! I presently have 1 dog named Chase who is a 3 year old, well mannered and well trained Pomeranian.Ive had both dogs and cats in past 25 plus years. I will care for your furry family member as if they are my own. Since I am retired I have flexibility with my schedule. I am able to schedule care during the work week to include drop ins, walks and even over night and long term care. I have a large fully fenced back yard. I even have an added puppy fence layer to ensure even the smallest pups are safe and secure. My neighborhood is excellent for dog walking as well. Chase my 10 lb pom is excellent company and a fun playmate.

About: My passion for animals and love towards animals. I currently have 3 dogs two huskies and one lab mix. I’m super excited to start dog sitting because being with animals is my happy place! Please reach out if you need somewhere for your dog to stay while away or I can even come to you!! With my 3 dogs I have a daily routine. We wake up at 8am and they go outside and run around the fence while I get their first meal ready. They eat and then get kennel for 30 minutes to let food settle before playing again. They then have the whole day to play and do as they want along with an hour walk. We typically play fetch for at least an hour a day and then they get their second meal. I constantly make sure my dogs are happy and have something to do. Weather it be playing with toys or enrichment toys to get their energy and brain going. They get brushed daily, teeth brushed and walks. My dogs are my everything as I don’t have kids.

About: I've watched dogs of friends and family on and off for the past 11 years. It's been a mix of older dogs, young dogs, large and small. I do require proof of vaccinations and licensing. I'm a stay at home mom. Our pets are rarely home alone for more than a couple hours at a time a couple days each week. I have a fenced in yard and friendly pooch with loads of toys to share. Our dog has unlimited access to the yard as long as I am home. A water dish is always out and available. We do have a cat who free ranges around the house, but she tends to make herself scarce when other dogs are in the house.

Ariana was awesome! She was accommodating to my early drop off needs and was already familiar with Dixie from reviewing her care notes ahead of time. I got updates and pictures throughout the stay and Dixie was calm and happy when I picked her up. Ill definitely be saving Ariana as one of our favorite sitters!

Frequently asked questions about Rover

As of July 2026, there are 343 sitters on Rover offering Doggy Day Care across Louisville. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your Louisville commute.

If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.

Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.

A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.

Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:

  • For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
  • For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
  • For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.

Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!

While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.

Many sitters in NE ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.

By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Yes, Rover is well-suited for finding sitters who can care for your pet within 24 hours. With 343 sitters in Louisville, 87% respond to messages in under an hour.

You can message multiple sitters simultaneously to find the fastest available match. If you need care today or tomorrow, you can look for sitters with a "calendar last updated" notice on their profiles.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
