“Veronica provides a safe, cosy place for dogs to stay when they can’t go with their owner, and my dog Bear was treated like family. Bear is almost 14 years old and not interested in playing, but he got along well with Veronica’s gentle dog, who Veronica carefully introduced to him. He likes to be with people, and he was so comfortable with Veronica that he relaxed at my feet when she and I chatted, instead of pulling me out the door. Veronica was very careful to help Bear negotiate around her house, as he doesn’t see well, and she was clever in making sure he could safely go out. Bear says he would go back anytime and I can heartily recommend Veronica to care for beloved pets.”

About: I have been a vet tech for 10 years. It is my passion. I had a disabled boxer so I am familiar with need to help disabled pets. I currently share custody of an energetic border collie. My 14 year old daughter loves to assist me when caring for your pet, please let me know if that is okay. I do work full time. If the pet is staying at your house, time permitting, I will check on them before work, lunch, and spend time after work with them. I will treat every pet as if they are mine. I normally feed twice a day and go outside as often as possible; weather permitting of course. If anything seems off, I have experience and a clinic I can take them too if needed.

We currently have three adopted pups from the Kansas Humane Society, and over the past three years we’ve also fostered 11 dogs through KHS — including 5 puppies. About: I’ve loved animals for as long as I can remember. Back in 2014, I had two ferrets, and they were such a joy—full of energy and personality! Since 2019, I’ve had my long-haired Dachshund, Chestnut, who’s been my constant companion. Taking care of him has taught me a lot about the needs of small dogs, from grooming to keeping up with their energy. I’ve also helped out friends by pet-sitting over the years. I watched a cat for a friend for several months, making sure they were fed, played with, and given plenty of attention. I’ve also dog-sitted, with the longest stay being a full month. I made sure the dog was walked, fed, and felt comfortable and loved while their family was away. I really enjoy spending time with animals, and I know how important it is to make them feel safe and happy. Whether it’s a quick visit or a longer stay, I’ll treat your pet like my own! I’m currently working full-time, but my evenings are fairly open, so I have plenty of time after work to care for and spend quality time with your pups. I’m available on weekends and weekdays after 3:30 PM, and I’d love to help make sure your furry friends are happy and well-looked after! I have a fenced yard, a friendly long-haired dachshund to keep your fur babies company. If needed, I can crate the dog. I also have ramps for easy access to the couch, as well as a gate to keep dogs out of the kitchen and basement.

About: I have done rescue work for dogs. I actually have two dogs of my own one. I saved from the Humane Society and one I saved for a rescue who is going to be put to sleep for no reason. I am currently not working so I would be home all of the time with them. They would get all the attention in the world. We have a a fenced in backyard that they would be able to run around in and the cats would be kept inside and fed. What food daily if you please. I have a fenced in backyard and two very very friendly dogs who love new friends. Your dog would be very loved and taken care of. I also have four cats who love to have new friends in they would be very loved and taken care of and would not be let outside at all

About: I currently work as a zookeeper and have years of wild and domestic animal experience. Working with wild animals means I have a much deeper understanding of animal husbandry, psychology, and behavior that allows me to provide better care for your pet! I'm especially comfortable around and handling large dogs due to the nature of my job. Professionally, I have cared for a variety of wild animals including large cats like lions, tigers, and leopards, dolphins, seals and sea lions, and several canid species. That being said, I'm able to provide a deeper level of personalized care. I currently work 5 days a week, usually Wednesday-Sunday. On my weekend, I'm home all day. On my workdays, I'm able to leave during lunch to provide dogs with potty breaks. There is a dog park within walking distance of my apartment that I bring my dogs to every morning and evening. I do also have a dog potty set up inside my apartment just in case a dog can't wait for me to get home. I provide this because I personally wouldn't make myself hold it, so I would never force a dog to do the same. I provide a very safe, relaxing environment where your dog will be treated like family. I approach care with a proactive approach, rather than reactive. This means I always keep a close eye on individual pet behavior as subtle cues can indicate how a pet is feeling at a given moment. Many pet owners miss out on these cues, especially if they aren't trained to look for them. Overall, this means I try my best to create a safe environment for and trusting bond with any animal I work with via positive reinforcement and never push past an individual's limits.
